Harry has no idea how far the Hogwarts grounds extend, but they haven't been able to Apparate yet, so they're still just walking.

Felix is ahead of them, staring at the ground as he walks. Harry and Draco walk next to each other behind him.

Harry nudges Draco's shoulder lightly, and mouths you got it?

Draco nods, pulling something out of his pocket and showing Harry the silver bracelet in his hand.

Harry clips it around Draco's wrist, murmuring "Don't want to lose it."

Draco meets his eyes when he finishes the clasp, and Harry remembers staring in his eyes just like this before he kissed him and married him.

"Lovebirds. Walking, remember?" Felix calls, and Harry snaps out of it. Draco flushes.

Harry finds himself walking a little faster than Draco, attempting to distance himself. What am I thinking? I obviously don't actually like Draco, this must be some part of our bond influencing me.

Suddenly, a small spike of pain and surprise shoots through Harry, and he instinctively turns around.

Draco is a few feet behind him, rubbing his ankle and scowling at a branch to his side. A small cut is on his ankle, tiny drops of blood surfacing.

Harry stares. There's no way I just felt his pain.

"It's just a little blood, Potter. Don't look so scandalized." Draco frowns and runs his thumb along the cut, wiping away the blood.

"You just... I just..." Harry is stunned.

"What the fuck is happening?" Draco asked with a deadpan expression. "Are you finally having the mental break that comes with being the Savior or the world? Do I need to snap you out of it again?"

Harry picks up a rock and holds it to the underside of his forearm, scratching it against the skin.

"Ow! What the fuck, Felix-?!" Draco breaks off when he realizes Felix is two feet away from him and clearly hadn't touched him. "The fuck?"

Harry holds up the rock and shows Draco his arm. "I can feel your pain. And it looks like you can feel mine."

"That wasn't part of the bond before," Draco murmurs in shock, studying the angry red mark on his pale skin in the same area as Harry's.

Harry shrugs. "Maybe it gets more intense the longer our bond is?"

Draco shakes his head. "The textbook said nothing about Eleanor and Francis being able to feel each other's pain."

"So what's the variable here?" Harry asks.

Felix just watches them like he's waiting for them to realize something.

"I have no idea," Draco replies quietly, studying his arm.

"You're both idiots," Felix comments.

"What?" both boys reply in shock, glaring at him.

"What has changed in the last twenty minutes, physically, that affects you both?"

"Dean's death?" Draco suggests. Harry winces.

Felix closes his eyes for a long time before he finally sighs and opens them again. "The fucking rings, you fucking morons. Honestly, and you think you're gonna save the world. If you hadn't taken me, I swear to god..."

Harry ignores him, studying the ring on his finger.

"Do you think it was like that when we bought it, or did Pansy charm it?" he asks.

Draco shrugs. "I have no idea. Either way, we should keep them on, it might help us in case one of us gets hurt."

"Right. I'll just get fucked then," Felix comments, pushing off of the tree he had been leaning against.

Harry almost feels bad about forgetting Felix, before his eyes catch the bracelet on Draco's wrist and he remembers the plan. He relaxes.

"It's probably a bond thing, sorry Felix." He flashes a smile at the boy, trying to raise his spirits. Felix rolls his eyes and grins back, bumping his shoulder as he starts walking.

"Wait a sec, we should test it," Draco says. Felix pauses, sighing dramatically.

"Fucking fine." He reaches out and pulls the ring off of Draco's finger before slapping him.

"Ow, what the fuck!" Draco shouts.

"Felix!" Harry protests, before he pauses. "Huh. I didn't feel it."

"There ya go. Can we walk now? People are dying, and you two are trying to figure out your magic marriage toy. I wanna get this over with." Felix responds, tossing the ring back to Draco, who drops it clumsily and grabs it off the ground.

"Think we're out of range?" he asks.

"Only one way to find out," Draco responds, rubbing his cheek.

Felix nods and after a second, disappears with a crack. He reappears a second later.

"Yep."

Harry and Draco exchange a look before each grabbing one of Felix's hands as he Disapparates them away.
