Part Thirty

It could have been a few hours or a few minutes later, either way Addison was aware that she was being nudged awake.

"Addison..." Dylan said. Did he have a death wish? He knew that Addison wasn't a morning person. Or a middle of the night person. "Addison." He said again firmer this time. Addison grumbled and buried herself under the covers. "Addison."

"Is the house on fire?" Addison asked from under the sheets, her eyes still firmly closed to cling onto the last tiny fragments of sleep.

"No." Dylan replied.

"Have The Rolling Stones pitched up camp in the kitchen?" She then asked.

"No, not that I know of." Dylan replied.

"Then go to fuck to sleep Dylan." Addison grumbled, still firmly under the covers.

"Are you awake?" Dylan pressed.

"No, I'm asleep you asshole." Addison groaned. She was going to smack Dylan if he didn't just let her sleep.

"No, you're awake because you're talking." Dylan pointed out.

"I hate you and your painfully obvious logic, it's like dating Spock." Addison said.

"It's pretty hot when you talk nerd." Dylan said with a chuckle. Finally Addison ripped open her eyes, emerged from under the sheets and glared at Dylan.

"I'm going back to sleep." Addison said, making a show of nuzzling her cheek against the pillow.

"Addison..." Dylan said moving closer towards Addison and wrapping an arm around Addison's waist. Despite wanting to go back to sleep, a ghost of a smile flitted across Addison's lips. "Addi..." Dylan pressed.

"Ugh what?" Addison grumbled though the smile was still there. "It's like four in the fucking morning. If you're not about tell me that you're secretly Batman or something I'm going to kick you out of bed and you can sleep on the damn floor. I don't care if this is your bed, it'll serve you right."

"You know I've got my place in London?" Dylan said. Addison nodded her head. "Well I was thinking..."

"Did it have to be right now? I'm trying to sleep." Addison grumbled. Dylan sighed and nudged her. With a groan, Addison sat up in the bed and glared once again at Dylan. "What have you been thinking about?" She asked.

"It's stupid."

"Then can I go back to sleep?" Addison asked. Dylan shook his head. "I'm starting to rethink the whole 'I love you' thing. I'm taking it back."

"Before you do that, let me get this out." Dylan said. "You see, I'll be moving down there and you're still not sure what you want to do next year. I was thinking, why don't you come with me?"

"Just to London?" Addison asked. "Or apply to same school?"

"To London. You could come with me and get some idea about what you want to." Dylan said. "We could find a place, you could get a job if you wanted."

"Dylan..." Addison started to say, she could feel him gearing up for a big speech.

"Look, I get it right? You're worried that it's too quick or we'll mess it up or shit like that!"

"Dylan, I'm not worried about anything; the idea is something that's going to take some getting used to. Moving away and not being here." Addison said.

"You don't think I'm worried about that too?" Dylan asked cocking an eyebrow. "I've never lived anywhere like London before. I've never studied art at the level they're probably expecting. I'm shitting myself over it. I was just thinking that maybe it would be easier if you come with me."

"And live in London?" Addison asked. "What would I do? Get a job or something?"

"Whatever you want." Dylan said. "I just don't really want to leave you now that I've found you. Plus, me getting into art school is because of you." Dylan explained. "I would have given up after the first few classes at school if it weren't for you; I mean you helped me put the portfolio that got me in together. It's all thanks to you."

"Yeah but it was your artwork and I wasn't the one that sent off your portfolio was I? You did that all by yourself."

"Yeah but I never would have had a decent portfolio if it weren't for you Addi." Dylan pointed out before pulling Addison into another kiss. They stayed like that, exchanging small kisses and feather light touches for quite some time before Addison pulled away with a sigh.

"I'm...I'm really proud of you, with London and everything." She said. Dylan's smile was there but Addison could see a small flicker of worry in his deep green eyes.

"You're not gonna come with me are you?" He said. "You're going to run aren't you?"

"Why do you think that I might run off somewhere?" Addison asked.

"Because you run, that's just what you do. You say that it scares you that people might run but it scares me that you might." Dylan said seriously.

"Dylan...I'm not going to run ok? I'm not. I just don't have a set plan for my life yet. I don't even know if I want to go to university. I don't plan things... my life doesn't really have a plan."

"And mine does?" Dylan scoffed.

"No, but I have even less of a plan than you. I just don't care enough at the moment to dedicate my time and money to something ok? It doesn't mean that I'm going to run." Addison said.

"You promise?" Dylan asked.

"I promise" Addison said. "I love you, I really do. I'm not saying yes to coming with you to London but I'm not saying no, ok?" She added. Dylan nodded but he still looked sad. "You just need to give me some time to think about it. It's a big thing and I'm not how my family would react to it."
