It was around 6:30 and Ben was supposed to be here half an hour ago. I began to worry he forgot about the party my bff Finn was throwing. Finn was my little Finniamon roll. He and i have been friends for about 3 years now since I moved here. Finn had insisted that I were to get out of the house since it was New Year’s Eve. I invited Ben considering he was such a loner and I had a small thing for him.

    Time continued to tick by and my worry grew. Where was he. I decided to call him but instead received a text when I grabbed my phone. It read, “Hey sorry I’ll be a little late traffic and all. Can you let Finn know that I didn’t Kidnap you.” I giggled as I remember when he took me for a weekend getaway and well, lets just say that Finn is a very protective big brother figure. “I will but be here soon or I’ll leave without you ;)” I respond. When I look at what I’m wearing, I realize I look like I walked straight out of the 90’s. Welp that's me for you. I am around 27 and work at a local cafe called “The Oasis”.

    After another half an hour, Ben finally arrived and walked me down to the car. I hated my living space. It was expensive for just me and very little room. I had a kitchen, a small bathroom, and a single bedroom.

    “Hey there, my little Rey of sunshine.” His smile was hidden but just visible. A few pieces of his raven hair fell in front of his eyes. His eyes were warm and remind me of hot chocolate. He was a simple guys, kinda.

“Hey Ben. Ready to head out?” I smiled at him realizing that Finn will kill me for being late. As we arrived to a small house just outside of town I noticed that all our friends were here already. Shit. I mumbled under my breath. I hated being last. Armitage, Phasma, and Poe were the only others invited. I grabbed. Ben’s hand and ran up to the door. I really hate knocking, so I made him. As the door opened a rush of warm air shot out. Fin stood there smiling ear to ear.

“Oh my god Rey, you're finally here!” he pulled me inside allowing Ben to fellow. He had a small house. Everyone was gathered in the living room. I greeted everyone with smiles and simple waves. As tired as I was I still decided to show up. As the night went on everyone relaxed. We played multiple rounds of Cards Against Humanity until Poe got uncomfortable and decided to hide till it was over. Fin finally forced him to come out and we played some Candy Land.

It was 11:55 when Finn called us into the living room, turning of the T.V. Hux, Finn, and Ben sat on the couch and the rest took the floor in front of their respective person. The six of started the count down getting up and slowly growing in volume. The seconds ticked down and I walked over to Ben.

“Hey. I have been wanting to tell you something for a while now but couldn’t. I feel this is the appropriate time now.” My eyes well digging in to him as if I were searching of some hint of curiosity.

“Well, I do too. And it’s been way overdue.” Ben’s smile was so infectious that I couldn't help melting in because of the way he looks at me. Everything is perfect when I’m in his arms and it feels like time stops. 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… The countdown ended and I gave him a small kiss, but was taken by surprise when he kissed back. This was like none I have had before. Is lips matched perfectly with mine. His smile was so easy to notice through the kiss. All time had stopped. When we finally broke away, he told me what i have been waiting for.

“Rey. I have loved you since the day I met you.” His eyes were shining with joy but yet there was a little resentment in what he said. I turned to him in a comforting way while seeing Poe and Finn were standing in the corner having an intimate moment and Hux was pouring Phasma a drink. I look at his eyes as if I finally found somewhere to belong. All my life i never fit in. Then when i started high school everything changed. I found friends and a family. Finn was like the older brother I always wanted and Poe was the gay cousin. Hux, that man, he was the best uncle ever and Phasma an aunt. And then there was Ben. I knew that we were in love since the day we met.
