This is very close to the last one... Also its a warrior cat fanfic
Warrior cat fanfic coming up, oh you orderd a side of deaf cat? Sorry, I'll add that too.
Sry about me being annoying I think I'm loosing my mind here.
Honeypaw watches longingly as her littermates play in the light frost from where she sits in the apprentice den. She'd been made an apprentice even though she can't hear. Everyone acts as though she would catch on to it eventually but so far she was three moons onto her apprenticeship and she hadn't been able to catch a single piece of prey. She would go play with her littermates but lately she had been so annoyed at all of them for acting like she would become a warrior that she had been completely ignoring all of them. She watches as her sister, Maplepaw pounces on her brother, Pinepaw. Pinepaw rolls over and bats Maplepaws face and Honeypaw can tell Maplepaw is yowling in frustration. Honeypaw has three littermates. Maplepaw, Pinepaw, and Mistpaw. Maplepaw has a brown tabby pelt, bright green eyes, and is very small but is still the best hunter in the litter, Pinepaw is a dark, almost black tom, with dark brown eyes, he is the largest and is wicked at fighting moves, Mistpaw has a light grey pelt with darker grey splotches, amber eyes, and is, well... Smart, she remembers everything she sees, hears, or smells, and then there is Honeypaw. She is a skinny honey colored she cat with a white underbelly, paws, and tail. She has amber eyes like Mistpaw but her main feature is her deafness. She was deaf since being two moons old and everyone in Windclan was surprised when she survived a fox attack that happened four moons ago. I wish that people just realized I can hear too... She thinks as she sees her mother, Deergaze shoot her a sympathetic look. Honeypaw can't hear like other cats can. She hears through the vibrations in the ground. The directions the other cats ears twitch when they hear something. Cats expressions as they talk to each other. Scents drifting around her. But only Honeypaw knows this because when ever she tries to explain to others that she can hear, they think she's joking so she's given up telling other cats. She notices her mentor going on patrol. She looks up at the sky, its sun-high. If I sneak out now to practice hunting... I could get back before sun down and no one would even notice me being gone. She stands up and walks towards the exit that cats use to go make dirt. She looks back to see if her mother or siblings are watching her but they are to busy watching Maplepaw and Pinepaw wrestle each other. She stalks silently into the area then leaps over the bushes and scurries away. The smell of the lake reaches her nose and she watches all around her as the moor moves in its own sort of way. The grass sways in the unseen wind. Small animals make the ground shake slightly. Scents of herbs and other cats swirl around Honeypaw as she makes her way down towards the lake. She stops at the crest of a hill and surveys the area for prey. A small movement to her left makes her head turn and she smells shrew. She crouches and moves closer, hopefully silent. Her main problem with hunting so far had been that her mentor, Redleaf, doesn't think she has enough skill to actually catch anything so instead of practicing to get better, they had been working on fighting, and learning. Honeypaw has only tried twice to hunt. The first time she accidentally snapped a small twig and the mouse heard and scurried down a hole, the second time she was so close to the vole she was hunting when she realized that since her mentor had been avoiding teaching her how to hunt, she didn't know exactly how to pounce correctly and in that moment of hesitation the vole ran away. Ever since then Honeypaw had forced her mentor to at least teach her the hunting moves even if he didn't believe she could do anything with them.
Honeypaw stalks closer and spots the mouse on top of a rock nibbling on an acorn. She tenses and leaps into the air. Her aim is perfect and she sinks her fangs cleanly into the mouse's neck. The warm scent and taste of mouse envelops her and Honeypaw realizes how hungry she is. She shakes and remembers the clan must be fed first. She picks her prey up and is about to head back to camp when she smells something in the air. Riverclan! She realizes. What are they doing here?! She silently sneaks closer to the smell and sees two Riverclan warriors she doesn't recognize. The closer one, a sleek black she-cat, seems to be yowling something at the other cat, a reddish brown tabby tom. between them is a vole, two mice, and a sparrow. Honeypaw glares and sinks deeper into the ferns. She quickly places her mouse under a pile of leaves and follows the two cats towards the Riverclan border. She sees the walk across the border and growls softly. No warrior would let them come into Windclan, steal our prey and leave like nothing happened. She races after them and is so busy following them she doesn't even realize that there is a small river after the bushes in front of her, she leaps over and falls straight into the river. She yelps and struggles as the stream pulls her away from Windclan, Riverclan, the lake and everything she knows. Her head goes under and she panics as she twists underwater not knowing which way is up. Honeypaw's head bobs up and she gulps in a breath before she is pulled back under. Ahead of her she sees a flat piece of bark floating along in the river. She shakes and using all her strength she has left pulls herself halfway on top of the bark, she breathes shallowly as the water splashes all around her the bark spins and heads straight towards a large rock. It hits the rock and in the process hits Honeypaw's head. The last thing she does before passing out is pull her hind legs onto the bark.
. . .
Mistpaw glances worriedly around camp. I haven't seen Honeypaw since sun high and now its almost sundown. She thinks. She walks around camp sniffing everything until she catches her sisters scent leading away from camp from the dirt making place. Thought race through her head until she comes to a conclusion. Mistpaw has noticed how Redleaf has been deliberately putting off hunting with Honeypaw and how it's been effecting her littermate. She's gone out to hunt! She looks around camp and sees her mother by the prey pile. She walks over swiftly and explains her situation to Deergaze.
"Deergaze when did you last see Honeypaw?" She mews worriedly. Her mother, A reddish-brown tabby she-cat with large green eyes that gave her her name, glances down at Mistpaw,
"I'm not sure, maybe sun-high, why?" She says studying her daughters worried face. Mistpaw stands up and starts pacing, as she always does when she's come to a conclusion.
"She went hunting, I know that because Redleaf has been avoiding hunting with her because he thinks Honeypaw can't, although if she just had a chance I'm almost certain that she could catch something even though she's deaf. But anyways, she's been wanting to go hunting recently but Redleaf won't go with her. I'm pretty sure, no I'm sure that when Honeypaw saw that Redleaf left on patrol earlier she decided to go hunt and along the way something happened, or else she would have been back by now." She says in a huff, getting the words out as quickly as she can, normally she would draw out the suspense of how she came to her conclusion but she was really worried about her sister so she hurried on,
"We've got to help her, you believe me Deergaze, don't you?" She says almost wailing. Deergaze wraps her tail around the grey cat and smiles warmly trying to hide her panic,
"Of course I do, you've never been wrong have you?" At this Mistpaw heaves a sigh of relief, "We need to go talk to FrostStar."
The two she-cats make their way across the Shadowclan camp, sidestepping the yowling pair of Maplepaw and Pinepaw. Deergaze calls out to their leader, A white tom with bright blue stern eyes, He jumps off of Pine branch and steps over to them.
"What is it, is something wrong?" He says as he sits facing them.
"Honeypaw went hunting by herself at sun-high and hasn't come back!" Mistpaw blurts out, her mother gives her a disapproving glare. Worry spreads across FrostStar's face and he looks into Mistpaw's eyes sternly,
"You knew she left to go hunting alone, and yet you didn't stop her?" He growls, Mistpaw shakes her head at that.
"No I just am sure she left because I saw her go to the dirt place at sun-high and her scent leads further out from the camp." She looks up at Froststar sincerely. I hope he believes me... Froststar sighs,
"I do, I've never known you to lie but... Are you certain that Honeypaw would leave camp alone?" He asks her. She nods and looks at the floor, if they find Honeypaw she'll be in trouble because of me... But what if she's in trouble? She shakes her head to get rid of the thought of her littermate being in trouble.
"Alright then, we'll send a patrol out, you wait here with your-" Froststar starts but Mistpaw interrupts,
"No! I mean please let me go help find her, she's my littermate after all..." She begs, embarrassed at her rudeness. Froststar growls softly then nods yes and goes to speak with the deputy, Slilentmoon, a black she-cat with almost black eyes.
A few moments later Mistpaw is on Honeypaw's trail with five other cats, including her mother, following her other littermate, Maplepaw, who's noses can pick up a stale two day old scent so this is a breeze for her. Mistpaw is just following worriedly when her sister stops.
"Mouse" Maplepaw says. Ahh be more explanatory!!! Mistpaw wants to shout but instead she breathes and says,
"And?..."
"She caught a mouse... Our deaf sister caught a mouse." Maplepaw says in wonder.
"Well where is it?" Mistpaw asks in exasperation. Instead of answering, Maplepaw continues down the unseen trail and stops a while away where a dead mouse is lying under a pile of leaves.
"Is that River-" Mistpaw starts
"Riverclan cats were here and Honeypaw must have followed them because her scent trail follows theirs. Also they were stealing prey." Maplepaw interrupts as she picks the mouse up and continues towards the border. They stole prey!? those little maggot filled scavengers! She thinks, And what was Honeypaw thinking, she could have gotten help! She worriedly follows her sister until they reach the border.
"She went onto Riverclan territory!" A young tom shouts behind Mistpaw, startling her. She spins around ready to confront the tom, who she now recognizes as Treepelt, a brown tabby with grey eyes, when LeafFall, Deergaze's littermate, a tortoiseshell and white she-cat with brown eyes, steps in,
"Don't you dare insult her, she was just trying to help. Remember Riverclan was stealing prey from us!" She growls, glaring at the tom. He glares back then turns away, leaving the argument.
"Enough!" Deergaze shouts, her usual cloud of calm leaving her, "Lets just go find my daughter" The cats in the group look out onto the Riverclan territory until LeafFall interrupts the silence,
"Just because Riverclan broke the code, doesn't mean we should. I know that Honeypaw is in trouble but... We can't break the code for her. And we have a full moon meeting tonight and it's getting close to when we have to leave. I know that Honeypaw could be in trouble but we should ask Froststar if he wants us to speak to Riverclan before we go prancing on to their territory." She says. The cats around her nod, even Deergaze.
