The year is 1970. It's been two years since I left home. I was now working at a bakery and I lived in the flat above it because my boss was nice enough to rent it out to me.

The work day was just about ending when my boss Annette approached me.

"You've been very good here and work hard," she started in her thick Italian accent," so I wanted to get you a gift."

She pulled off her apron and grabbed my hand, pulling me over to a locked drawer. She plucked a small key from her back pocket, unlocked the drawer, and opened it up.

"Close your eyes, please," she said politely and eagerly to show me what she had gotten.

I closed my eyes and held out my hands. I felt her place a smaller piece of paper or something in the palm of my hand.

"Open, please," she said.

I opened my eyes and looked down. I gasped in shock when I read the words Led Zeppelin on a crisp new VIP ticket.

"You like? I heard you talk about them so I got you a ticket to see them!" She explained happily.

I didn't know what to say. I took it that she didn't know about John and I and our past relationships. But I thanked her anyway.

"It's tonight, so take off early and go get ready. I insist!"

I smiled and nodded. I took off my apron and hung it on the door. I zoomed up the stairs and into my flat. I shut the door behind me and slid down, landing with a soft thud, and then slouched with my head between my knees.

"Ugh, of all the bands, why Led Zeppelin?" I groaned to myself.

I had to go, though. Annette was just trying to be thoughtful and she didn't know. I decided to get ready.

I got in the shower to freshen up. I didn't want to smell like bread and pastries or have flour in my hair.

I opened my closet and pulled out a black dress with floral patterned sleeves.

I picked out some gold heels and was on my way to put on my makeup when there was a knock at the door.

I went and opened it up. It was Annette.

"Sorry to bother you," she started,"but I just wanted to make sure you were okay. You didn't seem very happy..."

"No, I'm just in shock!" I replied,"I really love this band and it's great I get to see them live."

She smiled and hugged me goodbye. I shut the door and ran to the bathroom to start on my makeup.

In about fifteen minutes I was ready to go. I just hoped that I would be in and out; just enjoy the music and leave. I honestly didn't want to see John. Every time I thought about him my heart ached. But sometimes I'd wonder if he still thought about me.

----

I got in my car and started to drive. The concert was at Royal Albert Hall. I was surprised how Annette got those tickets. Led Zeppelin was pretty famous by now.

I found my way in and turned around in every direction, surveying the building. The venue was beautiful. It was huge. It was just plain amazing.

Soon, the lights went down and everyone started cheering and screaming as the band came out and introduced themselves.

They started it off with a song called We're Gonna Groove. It was quite a performance to kick off their concert. It had everyone dancing and screaming.

They then proceeded onto I Cant Quit You Baby. But then, my favorite, it all toned down for dazed and confused.

The bass line started and everyone calmed down. I was watching closely at every movement that they made. But as I peered across the stage, I made immediate eye contact with John.

It was obvious. He wouldn't look away and neither would I, no matter how much I wanted to. It was like he was controlling me with his hard gaze.

It seemed like an eternity, but our state was finally broken when Jimmy had finished his violin bow section and started on the heavy rock solo.

That song ended without anymore awkward eye contact between John and me. But unfortunately every song after that, it was Jimmy and I who were looking at each other.

I was starting to feel uncomfortable and I just wanted to leave. But another part of me wanted to stay and see the rest, so I did.

----

Everyone was filing out of the building in droves, so I decided to sit back and wait for it to clear out.

When it finally did, I made my way to the exit. But the security guard stopped me.

"Hey," he began,"you've got a VIP pass and you're not even going to use it? Come on. I'll take you there."

He didn't give me a chance to explain. He firmly grabbed my arm and led me down the corridor and into a smoke filled room filled with the aroma of alcohol.

"Well, go on. You're pretty. I'm sure those guys will like ya!" He reassured, pushing me into the sea of people.

I was in the core of all the commotion so I tried pushing my way out but failed miserably. No one would move.

I eventually gave up. Then someone knocked into me.

"Oh I'm so-"

A familiar face turned toward me with a huge smile.

"Louisa?"

It was Robert Plant.

"Robert?" I asked, even though I knew it was him.

"Wow, you haven't changed a bit. Still the pretty girl we all know and love."

I chuckled at his comment.

"Here, let me take you over to see John."

My eyes widened in horror as I shook my head.

"Come on. Just say hello."

I tried resisting but I just couldn't break free.

Robert led me over to the bar where John was chatting with Bonzo and having a drink.

"Mates," Robert began, shoving me toward them, almost smashing me into the bar.

They immediately stopped talking when they saw me. Bonzo just laughed and walked away as if to say "good luck with that".

We both stood there awkwardly and just stared at each other.

"C'mon, guys, say hello. Don't be shy," Robert insisted.

"But I guess I'll leave you two lovebirds alone, huh?" He started again, slowly backing away and leaving us all alone.

"Lou," John finally broke the silence between us,"you came to see us?"

"Yeah," I mumbled.

"Did you enjoy it?"

"Yeah," I mumbled again.

"Look, I don't know why you're acting this way, but please, just talk to me," he blurted out.

I stood there and didn't answer. I really had nothing to say.

"Lou," he started again and then looked around,"oh, just come with me."

I followed him to a back door that led us outside. It was the only quiet place we could go to talk, even though I didn't want to talk in the first place.

"Louisa," he began again, finishing what he was starting before,"remember what I said that day, two years ago?"

"Yeah."

"I still swear by it. I still love you. I always will. I've never felt the same about any other girl. The guys have been trying to set me up, but I still refuse. I said I would wait for you. I did, and now you're here."

"Y-you really do?"

"Just ask anyone. They'll vouch for me."

He gently grabbed my hand and held it as he continued.

"Louisa, I really do love you. Why is that so hard to understand?"

"I-I don't know," I replied, starting to get choked up in my words.

"Please don't cry," he whispered as he pulled me in for a hug, rubbing my back to calm me down.

"It's just that," I continued, trying to get the words out,"you and my dad, you just-"

I couldn't finish, but I guess he understood what I was trying to say.

"Just listen to me, Lou. I'm gonna have to be honest with you: your dad really scared me. I was very intimidated. I wasn't strong enough. And that's why I let you go," he replied, starting to tear up, too.

"Oh boy, you're making me cry, too," he said with a chuckle.

I just smiled as we pulled apart for a moment to look at each other.

"You're just as beautiful as I remember you," he said.

"You haven't changed much either," I replied,"except your hair is a lot longer. But I like it."

We both laughed it off as he wrapped his arm around my waist and we walked back inside toward the bar.

"Do you think you could handle a drink this time?" He asked through laughter,"Because remember what happened last time..."

"Shush," I replied,"I can definitely handle it now."
