together with you
The sound of crickets chirping and the occasional wind blowing through the trees filled in the awkward void of silence the two sat in. it had been months since they were together like this. Alone.
Ochako sighed and brought her knees up to her chest, continuing to pull blades of grass out the earth. Slightly frustrated she furrowed her eyebrows together. The fluffy feeling she never liked came back running through her body. But stronger. She looked up, her eyes met with the boy she loved spending her days with.
Izuku was staring up at the sky. Probably admiring the stars.
It was no secret she admired izuku. She had brushed off all the times Mina and the others teased her for rambling on about him all the time and told her she "was in love" making her turn redder than a beet and sink down in her seat. But this time it was different. It was no use. Maybe she was in love with izuku.
no.
She WAS definitely in love with izuku midoriya.
She just couldn't understand why he had been avoiding her for so long. It kind of hurt her, but it's also not like she hadn't been avoiding him too. Everytime she would find the courage to go up to him and start a conversation either her cheeks would heat up and that fluffy feeling would come back, causing her to freak out and run away or if she would see him come over to her she would make some dumb exuse like having to use the bathroom.
It's not like she wanted to avoid him. Actually, she wanted to stay and finally talk to him, but something in her body couldn't keep her from making her face turn red and jump up from her seat yelling she had to use the bathroom before running off.
As for izuku, he would notice her coming over to him, and his face would redden up and he would flee away. Maybe he was just, really busy? It was weird on both sides. Like they were some type of contagious virus or something. It was weird. It came out of nowhere like nothing. It's like she woke up one day and decided to helplessly fall in love. It's not like she wanted to avoid him, it's just, this concept of love was too awkward for her to understand.
The more and more ochako thought about it, the more her face turned from frustration to sadness. She wanted to figure out what was wrong. So things could go back to normal. For the both of them. It had been two months of them clearly avoiding each other and creating an awkward tension when forced to talk to each other. Even their classmates noticed, to which they would just brush off with another lame excuse.
The thing was, she was nervous. Or maybe scared was the right word. What if he didn't want to talk to her ever again. What if it was her fault. She was the one who started avoiding him in the first place. What if he was mad at her for it, that's why he stopped talking to her. Those thoughts swarmed her mind, before she brushed them off.
She was 17 now. She didn't have time for silly thoughts like that to distract her. She deeply inhaled and exhaled before raising her head again, getting ready to get a couple things off her chest. Butterflies swarmed in her stomach like she ate a jar of them, not helping the situation at all. She wouldn't be surprised if izuku could hear her heart thumping in her chest.
"H-hey, deku-kun?" she lightly asked. She would be surprised if he even heard her. He turned around giving her a light smile. It was the first time he heard her say his name in a non forced tone in months. He was happy. "Yeah?" he asked. Ochakos eyes widened and she blushed at the sight of him. He was giving her a sincere smile and the stars reflected in his eyes making them way brighter than they already were. Her heart thumped harder in her chest and she was hesitant to continue. He was so beautiful. She wanted time to stop and forget what she was even going to ask him just so she could stare at his breathtaking face forever. Her lips quivered, feeling bad she was about to ruin his breathtaking smile with her dumb question. She sighed, stuffing her head back in her knees.
"Why have you been avoiding me?"
That was it. The stupid question she could have answered herself if she was a little more observent. She looked back up, focusing her attention on him. Izuku turned back around looking back up at the sky. He looked so peaceful compared to ochako who was literally screaming and panicking on the inside.
"Because I've been selfish, uraraka."
"H-huh?"
Izuku turned back to her, his eyes shining brighter and glossed with what looked like tears. Damn it. The last thing she wanted to do was make him cry. "I've been selfishly loving you uraraka." he said, moving towards her and squatting down to sit next to her.
"What?" is what she would have wanted to say out loud if only her body would let her. She was too shocked to do anything but let the blush spread on her cheeks get hotter and brighter. His words played back in her head like a video left on loop. "Selfishly loving you?" if anything she was the shellfish one. At least that's what she thought. "Selfishly loving you?" ochako broke the silence they were in for a couple of seconds.
"Yeah." izuku replied back. "It means I love you uraraka, even though I know you're too busy with your hero work to even care. And i didnt want this stupid crush to ruin our friendship, so I've been selfish. For years now. Please forgive me." izuku blushed a deep shade of red. It felt weird that he was able to finally say it out loud to the person he wanted to tell for forever now.
He looked back up at the stars waiting for her to answer. He knew that he was saying this all kinda out the blue, so he gave her time to react.
Ochako on the other hand was feeling 10 different emotions a second. She turned her head to gently look at him. "I love you uraraka." the same exact tone and way he said it played back in her head a million times. "No way.." she thought. Why did it have to be that out of all things. She would have been fine with him hating her or something. She felt the blood rush to the tip of her ears and spread around her face the more she thought about it. The butterflies in her stomach swarmed even more and the fluffy feeling got worse.
She thought about it some more before the words he said sank down in her. Selfish. If his actions are what he called selfish, then what level of selfish was she on? For years now, she had done everything she could to deny the fact she liked him. He was always so set on becoming a hero and working on his goals, and that's what she loved about him. It would be rude of her to ruin it with her feelings and distract him. Or more like, the both of them. But she couldn't help the way she felt all fluffy inside around him. She thought back to their first year, which is where she tried her hardest to put her feelings for him away, which didn't do anything but make them stronger. So she just gave up. The stronger her feelings got, the more they hurt her menatly, which is why she started avoiding him in the first place.
Maybe she was selfish too.
Ochako turned her head away from him to join him in looking at the stars. "If that's what you call selfish, then maybe I've been selfishly loving you too."
Izuku's eyes widened and his blush got brighter and hotter as he turned his head to look over to ochako. She was still staring up at the sky. "Is that why you avoided me too..?" izuku lightly asked. Still looking at her. Ochako nodded and turned her head, only to be met with his shining green eyes. She blushed a little and her heart did a jump. She would never be used to the way he looked so perfect. "Uraraka- you're crying..?" izuku said quieter. Ochako still heard him and placed her left hand on her cheek. And he was right there were tears streaming down her face. She giggled a bit. "Silly me. I must have started crying when i was thinking.." izuku blushed a little at her giggle. He had missed hearing that soft tone from her. They sat in silence for a while before ochako started again.
"Deku-kun, you know that you're cool right?" ochako said to him. "E-eh?" "Yeah you're so cool and seeing how motivated and set you are on being a hero just makes me love you even more." she smiled at him before looking at the sky again. It's almost like seeing the thousand stars spread out together calmed her down. "Seeing how cool you are and how nice you are to everyone made me want to be like you. And eventually that admiration turned into love. And I tried everything to put my feelings away so I wouldn't distract you, but that only made things worse and it started to negatively affect me, so I avoided you thinking that things would go away." she paused, thinking for a moment. Izuku watched her sniff and bring her hand to her eyes to wipe her tears. "So I'm sorry for being selfish." she smiled to herself crying harder finally being able to say the things she's always wanted to izuku.
Izuku was beyond shocked that she felt this way for so long, and seeing her cry didn't make him feel any better. "H-huh?" ochako looked to her side and saw a bush of green hair next to her head and warm arms wrapped around her smaller body. "D-Deku-kun...?" ochako spoke. Izuku moved his body so he was facing her body. He lightly cupped her soft chubby cheeks he's always wanted to touch in his hands. Ochako blushed harder and stopped crying, bringing her hands on his. "Uraraka, I love you so much and I don't want to stop loving you. Let's promise to keep loving each other together. Okay?" Ochako blankly stared at him for a couple of seconds before tearing up again and nodding. "Okay! I love you too deku-kun!" she said before laughing a bit.
That was music to izukus ears. He loved hearing her laugh. It was one of his favorite sounds and hearing it out loud and close again like this made him blush and his heart flip as he gave a warm smile in return.
Izuku and ochako both sat in a comfortable silence looking at the stars, and occasionally each other. That was, until ochako got an idea.
"W-woah!" izuku suddenly felt himself get pushed down onto the cushioning grass. He opened his eyes and saw ochako laying down next to him. He gently turned his head to look at her. Ochako turned her tead towards him, their eyes meeting. "I wanna starzae with you." she said softly. "Is that okay with you?" she asked. Izuku softly blushed a light pink. "How can someone be that cute.." he thought to himself. He nodded, lightly smiling at her. "Sure. if you want to."
Ochako felt her heart flip and the fluffy feeling still lingering around in her body when she saw his smile. It was one of her favorite things about him. Everytime he smiled at her she felt like the luckiest girl on earth. She would never get used to the presence of him.
She took her small hand and intertwined it with izuku's larger hand. And to her surprise his hands were warm. Like, really warm. Izuku took his focus off the stars to look at her for a moment. "Your hands are so soft." he said out loud to her. "It's cute.." he thought to himself. Ochako looked at him and smiled. "Thank you!" she hummed. Ochako lifted up their hands, still intertwined together. "And your hands are super warm." she giggled. "And you have big hands too. It's kinda like a heating pad." she laughed to herself. Izuku blushed and mildly panicked at her cute compliments. "R-really?" he said shyly. "I thought you would have said something like, "they're ruff." or something like that." he said, sheepishly scratching his cheek with his freehand, avoiding her gaze. Ochakos eyes widened and she popped herself up, her hand still in izukus. She stared at him with furrowed brows and a confused looking face. "E-eh?" izuku started.
"No way!!" ochako yelled at him. "Your hands are like the best!! And your scars make them look so fucking cool!!" izuku blushed harder than he already was at her words and actions. Izuku turned his head the opposite direction of her. "T-thanks.." he said smally. Too flustered to even talk properly. Ochako tilted her head confused, before breaking out into a crimson red blush spread around her face. "Ah- im sorry deku-kun!! I didn't mean to be so aggressive!!" she said panicking. Izuku turned his head towards her and broke out into a small laugh. Ochako blushed harder pouting at him. "H-hey!! Stop laughing at me! I said I'm sorry!" she mumbled at him. Izuku eventually stopped laughing and looked at her. Ochako couldn't lie. His laugh was one of the most attractive things ever. Which just ended up making her blush more at the thought of it. It was nice and soft and it fit his somewhat deep voice almost perfectly. "God. you're so cute uraraka." izuku said to her.
They both paused for a minute before both turning redder than a strawberry. Izuku panicked a little while ochako looked at him with a smile on her face. "You don't have to panic. I'm not gonna be mad over a complement!!" she said to him giggling. That made izuku feel better and his blush softened out a bit in color. R-right.." he said sheepishly. With that reassurance in mind, he went on to continue what he was going to say before.
"No, but thank you uraraka." he said, smiling at her. She turned her head towards him. "For what?" she said confused. "For the compliments about my hands." he said happily. "I've always hated them because they were covered in scars and they looked unpleasant and I hated the fact that I could never hide them." izuku said, avoiding her gaze. "now that i have those positive compliments from you i'll try not to think bad about them." he said looking back at her.
Ochako smiled. Not any regular old smile but a giant smile that stretched across her whole face and forced her to close her eyes. Izuku felt those weird butterflies in his stomach looking at her smile. That was another thing she loved about her. Her gorgeous smile. She had the perfect lips and the perfect teeth and the perfect face. It's almost like he needed sunglasses looking at her. "You're welcome deku-kun!! Glad I could help!!" she was really glad she could help, but on the inside she was screaming. Probably because izuku was so damn cute. "And besides, i have scars too!" ochako said. "I have some on my arms and legs. You don't have to feel ashamed of them. They're kinda like reminders that you survived." she said to him softly. Izuku smiled back at her. "Y-yeah. Your right. I never thought about it that way." he said lightly.
"Okay!!" ochako started, laying back down. "Let's get back to star gazing!!" she said excitedly. They both fell back into a comfortable silence watching the stars light up the bland dark night.
"Aren't the stars beautiful?" ochako whispered to izuku, turning her head watching him look at the stars, being just as attracted to them as she was. She got startled by him turning his head to look at her. He gave her a sincere look.
"You're beautiful..." izuku whispered to her.
Ochako felt her face heat up and her soul leave her body. This was the second time he had flirted with her like this. She had expected him to be like some type of dork who kept blushing and had no idea what they were doing or something. Where in the world did he get all this confidence from? She was slapped out her thoughts when she heard Izuku's soft tone of him laughing at her again.
She couldn't help it. As much as she hated blushing over and over and getting the worst embarrassment, she gave in hearing him laugh like that. It was almost therapeutic. She was eventually going to get him back for all this blushing he made her do.
"Okay! No more flirting sir!" ochako said to izuku, turning her gaze back to the stars. "Let's talk about something else."
"Not really flirting, just complements, but, okay mam!" izuku said back, turning his head up again. "Oh! I know!" ochako started. "Since we're looking at stars, did you know I like learning about space!?" she said excitedly.
"Nope. i had no idea." izuku said, glancing at her for a second. "Really?" ochako said, surprised. "I have multiple posters in my room!! And you've been in there plenty of times!!" she looked over at izuku, whose gaze was still fixed on the stars. "Well, I kinda thought they were for like, aesthetic y'know?" izuku said, scratching his cheek. "Hmm.. understandable." ochako said, giggling a bit. "Well, looks like I learned something new about you again!" he said looking at her. That made ochakos heart jump and cheeks light up again. She lightly smiled before fixing her gaze back on the stars. "Well, why don't i explain to you some constellations or planets or something?" she said to him. "Sure. i'd love that." Izuku said lightly to her. He didn't care what she talked about, he just wanted to listen to her voice.
Ochako smiled at him before pointing her finger to the sky and pointing at a constellation. "We'll start with an easy one. This constellation is..." izuku looked over to ochako admiring her from where he was laying. He blushed at how passionate she was about this unspoken hobby. He didn't even notice she was still rambling on about some constellation. He was just so distracted by her beauty and how lucky he is to have her in his life.
Ochako paused to take a look over at izuku. Both their eyes widened at the same time as they made eye contact. Izuku blushed and turned his head away from where ochako was looking at him. She pouted and sat up slapping his arm with her free hand.
"Heyyyy. Were you even listening?" she questioned watching him squirm around like a dork. He blushed harder seeing her cute pout as he had missed it the first time earlier. Her cute expression was definitely not helping the situation at all.
Izuku quickly sat up, scratching the back of his neck in embarrassment. "YEP!! I was TOTALLY listening to you!!" he said nervously. Ochako smiled at him before giggling. "You're such a dork deku-kun." she said covering her mouth as she continued to laugh at him. Izuku smiled at her, letting his ears soak in as much of her adorable laugh as possible. It made his heart flip and beat way faster than it was before. He watched her swipe at her eyes after laughing so hard. She looked up at him with her gorgeous brown eyes that he couldn't help but stare into. Seeing the reflection of the stars in her eyes, illuminating them and allowing him to see the gold shimmers that lived in her irises along with the chocolate dark brown and the light brown that were already there before sent him on another level. It's like the gods sent an angel down from heaven for him. He couldn't be more grateful.
Izuku and ochako continued to talk about random things and look at the stars. They sat in silence for a while before ochako suddenly stood up, catching izuku's attention.
"Cmon. stand up." ochako said to izuku, motining him to stand up with her hands. Confused, izuku stood up facing in front of ochako. He looked down to see a shorter brunette looking up at him with sparkling eyes, which soon turned into a cute pout. Izuku blushed a soft pink and lightly smiled at her. "What's the pout for?" he asked softly giggling. Ochako puckered up her lips and furrowed her brows together. "You've gotten too tall." she said with her lips pushed together like a fish of some sort. Izuku tilted his head to the side before bringing his hand to his head, moving it from his forehead to where ochako was standing. And as she was right, his hand went straight past her head, not even grazing the top of her head.
"Hmmn. you're right." he said laughing at her. Ochako crossed her arms against her chest as she pouted again. "Stop laughing at me!!" she yelled at him punching him in the chest, which only made him laugh more. "We used to be like the same height 2 years ago anyways!! Don't get too cocky." she said putting her hands on her hips. "Yeah exactly. 2 years ago! And even then, I was still taller than you." izuku said laughing harder. Ochako puckered her lips again, before squeezing izuku into a tight hug.
"If i hug you, will you stop laughing at me?" ochako said, blushing a bit. "Hmm. fine." Izuku said, giving in. He wrapped his arms around her back and used one hand to pet her hair. They hugged like this for a few minutes before izuku felt ochako lightly tremble.
"Hey..are you cold?" izuku asked, looking at her. "Uh, kinda.. But i can survive." ochako said, chuckling a little. She was surprised, feeling izuku move away from the hug. "H-hey, I never said you could-" she stopped what she was saying when she saw the dark green hoodie Izuku was wearing being held in front of her. "Here, wear it. You said you were cold." izuku said, avoiding her gaze while lightly scratching his cheek with his finger. "You don't have to do that deku-kun. I said I'm fine!" ochako said, blushing a bit, mildly panicking on the inside. "Yeah I don't have to, but i want to." izuku said back to her, giving her a sincere smile.
Ochako blushed a brighter red, giving in and taking the hoodie seeing that breathtaking smile that made her knees weak and heart flutter. She quickly slipped it on over her head. The hoodie was about 2 or 3 sizes big for her, reaching down above her knees and the sleeves were longer than her arm length. But the thing that surprised her the most was how warm it was. And how much it smelled like izuku. It's like each breath she took had a hit of izuku in it.
"Wowie! This smells like you deku-kun! And it's so warm!!" ochako exclaimed, bouncing on her tippy toes a little before crushing him into a tight hug. "I'm glad you like it!" izuku said to her, returning the hug. "It looks cute on you anyways." he whispered, giving her a smile.
Ochako felt her soul leave her body again for the 100th time and her cheeks burn up, enough to warm her up. It's like every time he complimented her, she stopped working as a whole. "T-thank you." she said looking down so izuku couldn't see the embarrassing blush she had spread against her face.
They both held each other in a hug, enjoying the presence of each other, before ochako got an idea. She looked up at him, her face holding a light smirk. Izuku noticed her looking at him and raised his eyebrows in a questioning manner seeing her smirk.
Izuku's confused expression quickly changed when he felt ochako take his hands, and slide them down to hold her hips. This time it was his turn to feel his soul leave his body and for his face to turn a dark shade of red. "W-WHAT ARE YOU D-DOING?!" Izuku yelled, getting ready to pull his hands away and feeling his face get hotter and turn redder by the second. Ochako put one of her hands on his hands so he couldn't pull them away, and put a finger to his lips. "Shush. It's going to be fine." ochako reassured him by giggling at him. "I just want to dance with you for a bit." she said wrapping her arms around his neck using her tippy toes for a boost. "But, i don't know how to dance." izuku said nervously, still mildly panicking from before. He couldn't lie, seeing her give him that bright smile and hearing her giggle in her usual soft tone calmed him down almost back to normal.
"You don't need to know. Just follow my movements!" ochako said, laughing a bit before lightly moving along on the grass under their feet. She lightly spun them around, occasionally giggling as Izuku stumbled over his feet once in a while.
"You're actually doing pretty good for your first time." ochako said, lightly smiling at him. Izuku thought his dancing was embarrassing. But seeing ochakos bright eyes looking at him and hearing her occasional giggles here and there made this more enjoyable. "Here, when i move my right foot back, you take your left foot and move it forward. Same on the other side." ochako told him, using her finger as a pointer before moving her arm back around his neck.
And to his surprise, her tip actually worked and it made dancing with her more smoother than him constantly tripping over his own feet. "See! Much better, right?" ochako said, her bright smile getting bigger. "Y-yeah." izuku said sheepishly. Still mildly embarrassed.
And that's when it hit him. How did she know how to dance? He was pretty sure she'd never mentioned anything about knowing how to dance before. And if this was her first time dancing, then maybe he was just that bad.
Izuku broke the comfortable silence they were in for a while. "Where did you learn how to dance?" he asked looking down at her.
"Hmm. thats a secret!!" ochako said, looking up at him and laughing a bit.
Izuku slightly smiled at her before turning his smile into a smirk. "Aw well that sucks. Because I was going to ask you to teach me." he said giggling a bit and looking to the side. Ochako blushed a bit and groaned. "Aw man. Now I gotta tell you." she said, laughing after.
"Well.." she started. "I had taken dance classes for a while, but then stopped once I got into UA." she said, rather calmly.
"Oh." izuku responded. "So then why'd you stop once you got into UA?" he asked back. "Because, i knew if i was going to UA i wouldn't have as much time to practice, and it was kinda getting boring anyways. And it didn't help that my parents arent the best financially, and I wanted to try my best to help them. But it's okay anyways cause i wanted to try out a new hobby too." ochako said, giving him a smile.
"Oh- i see." izuku said, continuing to dance with her on the soft grass. It was silent for a couple seconds before ochako broke it. "So, do you actually want me to teach you how to dance?"
"Yeah. of course. How else am I supposed to dance with you at the prom in a couple months." izuku said blushing a light shade of red a bit.
"WAH- why are you bringing that up now?!" ochako exclaimed, blushing a deep red color. "It's not until the summer!! It's only october now." she said avoiding his gaze. "Hmm. why not?" izuku said laughing at her. "We're dancing now, so we might as well dance together later." ochako blushed a deeper shade of red before pouting at him again. She suddenly stopped dancing, catching izuku's attention. She pulled him into a tight hug. Stuffing her face in his chest area.
"Fine. i'll go with you to the supid prom." she mumbled.
"Yay! I'm excited now." izuku said to her, hugging her back.
Ochako let go of the hug, smiling at him, feeling her deep blush slowly move away. That's when something from behind izuku caught her attention. Izuku watched her expression change and tilted his head confused. He turned his head, joining ochako in whatever she was looking at behind him. "Look! It's a bunch of fireflies! Aren't they pretty!?" ochako exclaimed, looking at izuku again. "Hm. yeah." he softly said to her.
Suddenly izuku felt his left hand being pulled by a smaller hand. "Where are we going?!" izuku asked the smaller girl in front of him, dragging him to wherever they were going. "Were going to look at the fireflies! Cmon!" she yelled at him, starting to run now. He softly smiled at her. Seeing how excited she was like an instant boost of serotonin.
Once they reached the fireflies, ochako finally stopped running and turned to look at izuku. Izuku swore his heart skipped a beat seeing ochako being lit up in the lights of the hundreds of fireflies around them. She looked so happy and finally being able to see her bright smile in the light and the soft blush grazing her already pink cheeks and her eyes that were already 2 different shades of brown with a hint of gold made him ecstatic. "Here, give me your other hand!" ochako asked, holding out her other hand that had yet to be occupied with izukus. He gently put his other hand with her's looking at her, waiting for the next activity she had planned for them both.
Ochako on the other hand, flushed a deep shade of red seeing izuku's cute face and bright green eyes, that were somehow always sparkling, looking at her. She was even sure she saw more and lighter freckles plastered across his face and over his nose. She smiled at him and laughed off the butterflies that swarmed her stomach from looking at him.
She slowly started spinning around catching izuku's attention. After a while she leaned her body back more, and started spinning faster, making izuku trip on his feet again. That made her giggle a bit as the cool fall air continuously hit her face as they gained speed. "Isn't this fun deku-kun?!?!" ochako yelled out, hearing deku let out a laugh, clearly having fun. "Y-yeah!" he yelled back, laughing some more.
His laugh was so sweet like honey, and ochako was sure she was going to melt anytime soon if she heard it again.
They spun around more for a couple minutes, laughing and cheering like a bunch of 5 year olds. "Wooooo!!" izuku yelled out. Feeling like he could burst into tears of happiness any moment. He never had this much fun at once before, and he never wanted it to end. Being with ochako made him 10x more happy and made him forget about all his problems.
Eventually, ochako let go of his hands, sending them spinning in whatever direction they were facing. They both tripped and fell, falling back onto the soft grass trying to regain their cautiousness after spinning for so long. Ochako got up and walked over to where izuku was laying on his back, breathing heavily. She sat down next to him looking down at him. He looked up at her starting to lightly laugh, remembering how much fun they just had together. Ochako joined in on his laughing, holding her stomach.
Izuku eventually sat up, sitting next to her. Ochako leaned her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes, enjoying the comfortable silence. She kinda forgot they were on a camping trip with their class. It had only been her and izuku for the past couple of hours, making them feel like the only people on earth. She didn't want it to end. She felt like the main character of one of those romance novels she liked to drown herself in.
She lifted her head up after a couple minutes, suddenly getting another idea. She turned to look at izuku, which caught his attention, and he turned his head to look at her back. He watched her bring her pointer finger and place it against his head. "Uraraka-?" Izuku asked, looking up at where her finger was touching on his head and back down to her face.
"Tag! You're it!" ochako yelled, before getting up and running away laughing.
"H-huh?!" izuku sat there with a puzzled look on his face before a small smile grazed his lips as he got up.
Ochako looked behind her, seeing izuku in the distance, slowly catching up to her. Her smile got bigger and she laughed a bit. "You can't catch me!!" she yelled, laughing loudly after. "We'll see about that!!" izuku yelled after her, making ochako scream a bit like a school kid, playing with their group of friends.
Ochako changed the direction she was running in, confusing izuku a bit, but he quickly caught on and started chasing after her again. The feeling of the soft fall air hitting their faces as they ran around, and the overwhelming feeling of having each other to themselves made everything feel 10x better.
Their game of tag didn't last too long before izuku quickly caught up to ochako before scooping her up in his arms, carrying her bridal style, making her squeal. "I got you uraraka!" izuku laughed. Blushing a light pink color catching his breath a bit. Ochako looked up at him, blushing red too. "Aw man. That sucked." she said crossing her arms together. "We can play again another time y'know." izuku laughed at her. "Hmm. fine." she said back wrapping her arms around his neck.
She made him let go of her legs so she could wrap them around his waist, and izuku put his arms under her butt for extra support. He was carrying her like some cute koala, which made the both of them blush even more.
They held each other like this for a couple of minutes not wanting to let go of each other for a second.
Ochako moved her head from the crook of izuku's neck to his face, looking him in the eyes. This caught his attention and he looked over at her. The look on her face his eyes were met with, was what he was least expecting. She looked like she was concentrating on something. It was kinda freaking him out. "You okay uraraka?" izuku asked.
She wiggled her way out of izuku's arms and plopped herself back on her feet. She was looking down at the grass and playing with the end of Izuku's hoodie she was still wearing. The reason why she was acting so weird was because she wanted to kiss izuku. BAD. Remembering how much fun they had together and how much closer they were to each other now than ochako could have ever imagined all in one night, made her stomach flip and the fluffy feeling she thought was over, come back. Thinking about how breathtaking izuku was and how nice he had been to her made her heart tumble and flip.
She wanted to kiss izuku, but she wasn't sure if he was ready, or even wanted to.
I guess there was only one way to find out.
Ochako looked back up at him, but this time her face was wearing a more softer expression. "Are you okay now, ura-" izuku got cut off in the middle of his question feeling ochako bounce up on her tippy toes, wrapping her arms around his neck again, and planting her lips on his, forming a kiss.
Izuku swore he felt his heart burst. His cheeks heated up again for the 500th time that night and his mind went blank. Ever since they had both confessed to each other he had thought of kissing her, but he didnt fearing he would make her uncomfortable, and it completely shook his mind that she had kissed him first instead.
Izuku leaned in a bit, making it easier for ochako and kissed her back. He tasted a faint flavor of strawberry, making him smile and melt into it even more. Thinking about how much fun he had had with her in these last couple of hours made the kiss so much more enjoyable.
Eventually after a couple of seconds they both let go, longing for air.
They stared at each other for a bit, both their cheeks flushed pink. Izuku smiled at her, making ochakos heart flutter. All of a sudden izuku felt his body get hardly pushed down to the ground. "Oof!" he winced, feeling his back get pushed onto the soft grass again. When he opened his eyes back up again, he saw a smaller brunette sitting on his stomach giving him a bright smile.
Ochako was still kinda shaken up a bit about how nice it felt to kiss izuku. It felt like something out of one of her romance novels she loved reading. And to her surprise he was a really good kisser. Which made her curious, but she didn't say anything, not wanting to embarrass him.
Izuku on the other hand, barely had time to process anything. All he knew was that kissing ochako felt like something straight out of a fairytale and it made it 10xs better that her lips were as soft as a blanket. And bonus points that she tasted like his favorite fruit. Just seeing her look at him made him head over heels for her, so knowing that she just kissed him made him feel like the happiest person alive. He was literally beaming with excitement.
"I love you deku-kun. Like, a lot." ochako told him, laying down on him and stuffing her head in the crook of his neck.
Izuku's blush deepend and he wrapped his arms around her, holding her tight. "I love you a lot too uraraka." he whispered to her, lightly smiling.
Hearing his soft tone made her blush and smile a bit. Ochako sat up laughing lightly while looking at izuku. "What's so funny?" he asked, smiling a little.
"You need chapstick." she said laughing more.
"..." for some reason, that made izuku blush a deep shade of crimson and look to the side, scratching his cheek. Maybe it was because of how cute she was. "Here." ochako said, pulling her strawberry chapstick out the hoodies pocket. That's probably what made her lips taste good.. Izuku thought to himself, seeing her twist the chapstick, making a light shade of pink chapstick show from out of the container. He blushed harder seeing her lean down a bit, and apply the chapstick to his somewhat chapped lips.
She sat up smiling again. "Look, do this." she said, tucking her lips in and rubbing them together as if she was applying chapstick to herself as an example. Izuku blushed, following her example.
Ochako couldn't stop smiling at him. He was too damn cute. "Deku-kun, you're cute." she said, tilting her head to the side and smiling at him.
This time it was izuku's turn to blush a deep red and panic a bit while ochako laughed at him. "Calm down! I just gave you a complement!" she told him laughing harder. "R-right!" izuku squeaked out trying to coax himself down a bit. After a while, he was back to normal, while ochako was still looking at him with her iconic bright smile plastered onto her face.
It was silent for a moment as she looked down for a second, fiddling with her hands. A light blush grazed her cheeks. "C-can i kiss you again?" she softly asked. Something that had been on her mind ever since she put the chapstick onto izuku's lips. Izuku smiled at how cute she was asking that question. "You shouldn't need to ask. Kiss me as much as you want." he said, softly smiling at her.
Ochakos eyes widened and her blush got to a deep red color and her face heated up. She lowered her head, furrowing her eyebrows and pouting at him. "You're a dork. Did you know that?" izuku grabbed her soft and pink cheeks, bringing her face closer to his. "Yeah i know." he said lightly, looking at her small but plump lips before trailing his eyes back up to meet hers. He moved his head a little, giving ochako a kiss on her lips. It was deeper than the first one, which made her squeak a bit.
When izuku let go for air after a while, ochako made sure to capture his lips once more, making the kiss even deeper. She couldn't get over how good izuku kissed her, and it made things better that his lips were softer now. This was only their second time kissing but she was sure the next time they would kiss it would feel better than the last, and all those thoughts just made her more hungry for his lips.
Ochako let go after a few long seconds, looking him in his eyes, a pout still on her face. "Where'd you learn how to kiss so good!?" she exclaimed. She had only kissed him twice, but each time felt utterly magical. "I kiss good?!" izuku questioned. surprised a little bit. "Yes.." ochako mumbled, avoiding her gaze from his bright eyes. "Well, I'm not sure then." he said giggling after. Ochako lightly groaned a bit, looking back at him.
Izuku still had one last question in mind he wanted to ask her. "Does it feel better now that my lips are softer?" ochakos face heated up again and she furrowed her eyebrows back together. She was pissed izuku kept teasing her like this, but she couldn't lie. It was utterly attractive, and her new favorite thing about him now. "You're so annoying deku-kun!" she said laughing and stuffing her face in the crook of his neck.
"E-eh!?" izuku questioned, surprised and blushing again.
"It felt better." ochako said. Sitting up again and lightly smiling.
With that in mind, izuku smiled back at her, laughing at how much she just blushed in the last few minutes.
Izuku patted the spot next to him, "sit here." ochako nodded, getting off his stomach and laying down next to him again. She stared up at the sky for a second before turning to her side, and latching on to izukus arm.
"Does this make us a couple now?" ochako asked shyly, blushing a light pink and closing her eyes.
"Do you want it too?" izuku asked, looking at her.
"Definitely. I love you too much!" ochako said back.
"Hmm. I love you too." izuku whispered to her, petting her hair.
That made ochako blush and giggle a bit, thinking about how much she loved izuku, and why she chose to fall in love with him.
"Do you think the rest of our class is looking for us?" izuku asked, looking up at the sky. "Probably.." ochako mumbled. in all honesty she didn't want to leave. She was having too much fun being alone with Izuku, that she forgot about everything else. And everytime she did think about it, it soured her mood. She wanted things to stay like this, and was sure izuku wanted to, too. Everytime she hung out with Izuku, whether it was simply studying or events like now, she was at her happiest, and that was one of the reasons she couldn't stop loving him.
"I really don't want to go back..." ochako said rather quietly. "Can we stay here for a while more..please..?" ochako asked. Izuku thought for a moment. He felt the same. He was having too much fun with her, that it would feel too soon to leave now.
"Yeah. we can stay. I'm having a lot of fun with you." izuku said, laughing smally. He pulled out his phone from his pocket to check the time. Ignoring the at least 40 missed calls from iida. "We can stay for 10 more minutes. It's almost curfew anyways." izuku said, pulling ochako closer with the arm that was around her, and enjoying the last couple minutes he had with her alone.
Izuku looked to his side, feeling ochako shift a bit, and sit up. "Can we keep this a secret. Y'know..our relationship?" ochako asked shyly, turning her head to look at izuku. Truth be told, she actually wasn't really ready to tell anyone at all. She was having fun and was so excited to have izuku to her and only her. It might have sounded selfish, but I guess that was the whole point after all.
Izuku smiled at her, and seeing how cute she was, like always, made a light blush spread across his face. "If you really want to, then sure. I'm not really ready to tell anyone yet myself." izuku said, sitting up to hug ochako.
That made ochako smile and she nodded in return, hugging izuku tighter. She was thankful for thim. Thankful that after all this time he still wanted to be with her despite the fact she ignored him for months. And thankful that he was always there to support her and make her smile when she was down. She was thankful that he loved her just as much as she loved him.
"Deku-kun, thank you." she said smiling at him.
"For what?" he asked back.
"For always being with me when I needed help and, and for still putting up with me, despite I ignored you for months. It makes me really happy knowing that you love me just as much as I love you." ochako told him, blushing lightly. She knew she would be embarrassed telling him this later, but for now, she wanted to get everything off her chest.
Izuku blushed a lot at what he told her. He was thankful for her a lot too. She was a bundle of joy that he couldn't stand to be without. "If so... Thank you too uraraka." izuku said back, giving her that same old bright smile.
Izuku reached peak happiness by just just looking at ochako. Remembering how much of a great friend and motivation she's been to him for the past few years was enough to make him melt into a puddle full of admiration. That was just a few of the many things that caused him to love her.
Ochako blushed and felt her heart melt with how much he meant to her, and how he always seemed to return her feelings.
Ochako rested her head on izuku's shoulder and closed her eyes, relaxing with the little time they had left alone together. They talked about random stuff laughing and teasing each other like before.
Eventually the 10 minutes passed, and Izuku stood up, reaching his hand out to help ochako up. Once ochako got up, she gasped a bit, getting pulled into a hug.
"Sorry, i just wanted to give you one last final hug." izuku said, rubbing the back of this neck. Ochako blushed and laughed at him. "We can hug again tomorrow too, dummy." she said, poking his cheek. "Ah, your right." izuku said, laughing back.
Ochako took his hand, and walked with him back up the hill where their class was staying on their camping trip, a few light up tents and silhouette of students in the distance. Ochako stopped in her tracks, and turned to izuku holding out her pinky finger.
"Before we go, can you promise me something this time?" ochako asked lightly.
"Yeah anything." izuku replied back.
"Can you promise me that we'll always be there for eachother, no matter what happens? Forever?" ochako asked, blushing a light pink.
Izuku smiled at her words, and linked his pinky finger with hers. "Yeah. definitely." he said rather confidently. "I'll never leave your side."
Ochako gave him a warm smile in return and pulled him in for one last hug before they pulled away. Izuku was quick, and planted a light kiss on ochakos forehead making her blush more and giggle at him.
"I love you deku-kun." she said, giving him that same cheery smile. "I love you too." izuku said back, returning the soft smile that ochako had given him with his own lips.
They split ways, walking to wherever they needed to be, still smiling like a bunch of idiots in love.
Ochako still had a soft smile grazing her lips when she entered the tent she was sharing with her classmate, mina.
Mina joletd hearing ochako enter the tent. "Ochakooo! Where have you beennn!? Everyone has been looking for you and midoriya for like, ever!!" Mina exclaimed, walking over to ochako and dramatically throwing her arms around her.
That's when things started adding up and mina gasped loudly. "Ochako! Did you run away with midoriya?!" ochako flinched at the way she worded that question. "Are you guys a couple or something?!" Mina was throwing her questions left and right.
As much as she wanted to scream and yell to Mina about what happened with her and Izuku, she still wanted to keep the events of tonight to herself for as long as possible.
Ochako threw her hands across Mina's face, to stop her from asking any more questions, and avoided her excited gaze, by turning her head to the side. "Nothing happened between us minaa!" ochako whined, a blush finding it's way across her face.
"That soft look you had on your face when you came in here isn't gonna convince me!" mina said, squishing ochakos cheeks. Ochako laughed a bit, pushing Mina away to go to her bag. She dug out an oversized shirt and pajama pants, so she could change out her dirty clothes she had on all day. It was too late to take a bath, so she would just have to take one in the morning.
"Anyways,I just wanted to go out to the meadow and deku-kun just so happened to be there and we lost track of time is all." ochako said, changing out her clothes. She wanted to keep things as vague as possible.
"Also, isn't that midoriya's hoodie? I saw him wearing it earlier today." Mina said with a smirk on her face. ochako was confused at first before she looked down and saw she forgot to give izuku his hoodie back. Shit. mistake number one of keeping your relationship status a secret.
"It was cold down at the meadow, and he wanted to give me his hoodie. Nothing else happened!" ochako said furiously, done with minas constant teasing.
Mina thought for a moment, then went back over to her sleeping bag, laid on the floor, just in time for ochako to be getting into hers. "I still think you guys are a couple." she said pouting and turning off the lamp in the middle of their sleeping bags. "I swear we're not." ochako said, smiling again.
"Great. And i'm a fish.'' Mina said, clearly giving up.
"Good night to you too." ochako said in return. Ochako thanked the gods that it was dark now, or else Mina would have never stopped pestering her over the goofy smile that had made its way to her lips, thinking about the little secret she had with izuku. She knew she was going to get an ear-full from aizawa tomorrow, but she was too busy floating on cloud 7 to even care.
She had found her true happiness.
******
Izuku was laying down on his sleeping bag, smiling like a dork, still remembering the events with ochako that night. A sudden voice rudely brought him out of his day dreaming.
"Oh! Hey dude!" Kirishima said, entering their shared tent. Izuku lifted his hand, giving him a lazy wave. "Where have you been?! Everyone was looking for you and uraraka!" kirishima said, changing out his sweaty and dirty clothes.
"Speaking of uraraka.." kirishima started again. "Was she with you, cause I couldn't find her anywhere?!" he said, sitting down on his sleeping bag.
For some reason that made izuku blush, and he silently panicked, trying to get it to go away before kirishima could notice.
"Uh yeah. I was down by that meadow by the hill, and I guess she happened to follow me." izuku said nervously. It wasn't a complete lie. It's sort of what happened. "And I guess we lost track of time.." he sheepishly mumbled, scratching his cheek. "Oh! Nice to know that you guys are okay!" Kirishima said back.
"So like, are you guys dating or something?" kirishima asked, his usually toothy smile plastered on his face.
Even though it was true the two of them were dating, it was still new information he had to get used to, and it caused him to break into a beet red blush making him look like a strawberry. "N-no! We're not dating! We just hung out with each other is all!" izuku said rather quickly, still embarrassed.
Kirishima let out a hearty laugh. "Well damn. Sorry for assuming!" he said. "It's fine.." izuku mumbled, still looking like a strawberry. If he was going to keep this a secret, he was going to have to try and act less, obvious.
"I thought she was avoiding you or something? Well at least that's what it looked like!" kirishima said, tilting his head to the side, thinking back a bit.
That comment made Izuku irritated a bit, but he tried not to show it. "I told you that she was just busy already!..and things are fine now.." izuku said, sitting up and rubbing the back of his neck. He obviously wasn't going to tell kirishima what really happened and risk ochako getting mad at him. He shivered at the thought of a mad ochako. Nothing really scared him, but the thought of a mad ochako was enough for him to break into a cold sweat.
"Whatever you say man!" kirishima said before laughing.
It was silent for a bit before kirishima started up again. "Are you sure nothing happened, cause for someone who was lost for over 3 hours, you looked like you just had the time of your life," kirishima said, smirking.
That one made izuku panic more than he should have. It was true, he did have the time of his life. But he obviously couldn't tell kirishima that. "Yes, I'm sure nothing happened. I'm just happy to be back with everyone else is all." izuku said, throwing his pillow at kirishima.
"Oof! Well, if you guys do start dating, can I be your best man?" kirishima asked, the same dumb smile on his face, throwing izuku back his pillow.
That made izuku blush a deep crimson color. "I-it's not like we're getting married?!" izuku yelled, freaking out a bit.
Kirishima took that as a yes answer. "Great dude! I'm excited now!"
"What about you and ashido? Don't you guys have something going on?" Izuku asked, smirking, finally being able to get back at kirishima. Kirishima blushed a bit, but obviously pretended to not hear izuku by changing the subject.
"You mind if I turn off the light?" he asked, laying down, the blush on his cheeks a similar color to his hair.
"Nah, it's fine." Izuku said, joining him, giggling a little bit.
Izuku was kinda glad it was dark now. He had all the privacy (not really) to blush and smile like a dumb idiot to himself about the unforgettable time he had in the last few hours, and his new souce of happiness. Ochako Uraraka. That's when it hit him and he realized he had officially found his happiness. Or more like,
They had both found their happiness in each other.
