The Forgotten

I blinked. "I'm sorry, what?"

"I would explain further, but I have to go," Finnley said hastily, "I'll meet you behind the cabin in an hour, bye!"

I opened my mouth to speak, but she disappeared quickly.

Anatox sighed in annoyance. "Okay, what was that?"

I looked at her and shrugged, not sure how to answer.

"What's going on in here?"

I heard Inferno speak from outside the hall. She peeked in, looking between Anatox and I. "I think you woke up half the cabin."

Whoops. Forgot it was, like, 3 AM.

"Sorry," I mumbled.

"Inferno, can I talk with you for a moment?" Anatox turned to the hybrid possession.

Inferno nodded, and the two ducked out of the doorway and out of my vision.

Anatox closed the door and sighed. "Alright, it's obvious there's something I don't know here and you're most likely in on it."

"What makes you think that?" Inferno asked nonchalantly.

"First of all, you weren't here thirty seconds ago, but there was a cat axolotl thing that was apparently one of her forgotten characters," she replied, "Second, any time we mention the missing people you get pretty stressed. It's obvious you know something."

Inferno sighed. "Look, I'd tell you if I could, but enough people are in on it already. You'll all probably figure it out eventually. You're all smart enough for that."

"Why can't you tell me again?" Anatox said suspiciously.

"For reasons of keeping people calm and safe," Inferno replied, "I know most of you wouldn't go full-scale panic at the thought of a threat, but some of you will get all big-headed and try to go take it on yourself. And we don't want that, since this mystery character seems more powerful than we make them out to be."

"Wha- mystery character? Like, some other character we don't know about here?"

"I've already said too much," Inferno growled, "I suggest you don't push the matter. I could easily get Tonix and get rid of you permanently."

Anatox was about to argue, but decided against it. Technically, Tonix was the only one capable of killing her permanently while they were in this dimension. Probably best that she didn't push it. Anatox sighed angrily before storming off.

Vizor appeared as I called his name.

"Why are you calling me at this hour?" he said grumpily to me.

"I... have my reasons," I replied.

One of my tentacles had been slowly creeping behind him, poised to wrap around his mouth. I was about to do so, but Vizor immediately saw it, intercepting the tentacle with the scythe he had swiftly summoned.

Vizor smirked. "You think I'm that dumb? Your ploy is quite amusing."

I returned his smile with my own grin. "Is it, now?"

I snapped my fingers, and his scythe disappeared. Vizor, confused now, looked at me. "What-"

"I wanted to do this the easy way," I sighed with fake disappointment, "But I guess I'll have to force your cooperation."

Vizor attempted to melt back into the shadows, but I quickly reverted to my original design and sent the shadows away to prevent him from doing so.

His gaze met mine. He growled. "Who are you?!"

"That's classified information, unfortunately," I smirked, "But you'll probably figure it out eventually."

Catching him off guard, I once again changed to my current design, wrapping my tentacles around the demon before disappearing with him.

Half an hour had passed, and I was standing outside the cabin as Finnley instructed. Anatox may not entirely trust her, but I did. And I intended to find out the one responsible for whatever strange, more paranormal than usual things that have been happening here.

The bushes in the forest rustled slightly, and I jumped in surprise. Finnley's small, light pink head peeked from the plant.

Finnley smiled. "Good, you're here."

I sighed in relief. "Thank goodness, it's just you."

Finnley quietly padded from the bushes and, to my surprise, so did a few other figures. One was a big, majestic white wolf with angelic wings and deer antlers. His eyes seemed to hold an infinite abyss of a starry night. Behind him was a girl with black hair and white highlights. She had gray eyes, and wore a black zip-up jacket. The last was what looked like a protogen, with red horns, a fluffy, demon-like tail, and a red X branded on his protective chestplate.

I looked at Finnley. "Who are these guys?"

The big white wolf stepped forward. "My name is Seeker, but you may or may not remember me as the World Jumper. We are your forgotten characters, as in, the ones that don't want to... oh, there's no way to put this lightly. To kill you."

I had a vague memory of creating the World Jumper, but it was a long time ago.

Seeker gestured to the girl behind him. "That's Reedwind right there, and the furry over there is Error."

"Hey!" Error's facial screen showed a red angry face.

Reedwind nudged his arm. "Don't take it too hard. Your species was created for the purpose of being furries."

Error frowned.

Seeker cleared his throat. "Anyway, we are here to explain the little crisis we have with the other forgotten. We only have about thirty minutes before we disappear again, so we must make haste."

"Alright then..." I shrugged.

Seeker looked to Finnley. "How much have you told her?"

"Most of everything," Finnley said, "But I had to leave before informing her about the spy."

Seeker nodded. "Thank you."

The wolflike god turned back to me. "As Finnley has told you, there is a traitor amongst your villain friends. Who it is, we don't know, but it will most likely be someone who fears being forgotten. Which of them have you finished the stories for, and how long have they been finished?"

"Well, True Identity's been done for a while, but I've been using 541 for roleplays, so I think he's mostly off the list," I replied, kind of thinking aloud, "Experimental's been finished for a bit, too. I could see Ally doing something like that to save herself." I scoffed as I mentioned the experiment.

"Keep an eye on both of them, just in case, as well as anyone else who seems like a likely suspect," Seeker nodded, "Crescent has a way with her words. She can manipulate someone before they even realize what they're doing. Always keep your guard up."

I nodded in response.

"If you ever need us, use your pen to summon us. We will help you in any way we can," Seeker said. He bowed his head in farewell before disappearing. The others simply waved before doing the same.

After the group returned to their own dimension (or wherever it is they resided), I headed back inside.

I was hardly in the main room when Dawn came over to me. The pureblood had an anxious look on her face.

"What's wrong?" I asked, seeing her unease.

"Have you seen Vizor at all today?" Dawn asked, "I couldn't find him when I woke up and no one else has. I'm getting worried."

I frowned. It wasn't like him to just disappear like this. "Sorry, I haven't. I'll see if I can find him, though."

Unsatisfied, Dawn nodded and walked off.

I continued down the hall to my room, passing a few characters as I went. But when I opened my door, I was surprised to see a note on my bed.

And its message filled me with dread.

I have them. Follow the map and meet me. Or they'll pay the price.
