First day tests
He must have looked like a fool.
Izuku was under no illusion he gave off the impression of anything but an absolute idiot as he skipped on to UA's campus and past his fellow students giggling like a lunatic. But honestly Izuku couldn't care less. Because he was here finally attending UA and working towards his dream of being a hero.
So with that mindset he was easily able to ignore the looks he was getting as he entered the building and made his way towards class 1a. What did give him pause was the man lying in the hall, wrapped in a yellow sleeping back leaving one his face uncovered. The two glanced at each other, Izuku with a confused curiosity and the man with a tired expression. The silence is broken when the man glanced towards the door. "Mind getting that?" He requested causing Izuku's grin to widen as he slid open the door getting a muffled thanks from the man as he shimmed into the room.
"The hell did you just say?!" A familiar voice croaked causing Izuku to peak in to see Bakugou scowling at the blue haired boy from the entrance exam who looked uncomfortable. "I merely asked that given your current condition if you are in the correct class. I apologize for my last of tact." He apologized stepping back when Katsuki growled ignoring the pain in his throat.
"Let's start over," The teen in glasses tried again. "I'm Tenya Iida from Somei Academy." He introduced himself extending a hand only for Bakugou to sneer. "Get the hell away from me 4 eyes before I blast you!" He threatened taking Iida back now for a different reason. He was unsure of how to respond so Izuku tried to help him out.
"Come on Bakugou the guy's just trying to be friendly. No need to bite his head off." Izuku giggled causing them to face him. Iida seeing who was addressing them stiffened up on instinct. 'It's him.' He thought barely surpassing his shudder before shaking his head. 'No, there's no need to be afraid. He's earned his place here along with the rest of us.' He reminded himself as he approached the lankly teen while missing Bakugou's growl at seeing Midoriya.
"YOU MADE IT!" Unfortunately for Iida he was unable to introduce him properly as Ochako had entered the room cheering upon seeing Izuku. "I'm so happy you got in!" She said happily before she remembered something and proceeded to bow low. "Thank you so much for saving me!" She told him with gratitude radiating off her. Izuku let out giggle waving off her thanks. "Oh don't give it another thought. We are trying to be heroes after all." He remained her before going to the desk that had been assigned to him. "Now let's get seated. Class is about to begin." He suggested while keeping an eye on the caterpillar man who was watching the class with dull eyes.
"Well at least one of you has your priorities straight." The man spoke up suddenly startling almost the entire class. "It took almost 15 seconds for all of you to settle down and that was only after the only who noticed me mentioned it. That's gonna have to change if you want to become pros." He lectured the kids as he stood and slowly got out of his sleeping bag. "I'm Shota Aizawa, I'm gonna be your homeroom teacher for the next 3 years. Pleasure to meet you." He introduced himself already sounding completely done with the teenager in front of him,
What he got was incredulous looks from most of his class while the already deserving of the title problem child was snickering.
"Now head to the locker rooms and change into our PE uniforms and meet me out on the field in 10 minutes. Any one who's late gets transferred to General Studies." Aizawa warned before heading out the door and blissfully ignoring the cries and screams coming from the class followed by the stampeding footsteps rushing down the opposite direction.
Well at least their sense of urgency seems to be working.
Line break
The last one trickled in around 2 minutes before the 10 minute mark. "Made it." The short teen with spheres on his head muttered looking like he was about to drop down in exhaustion.
"Alright. Now I know it's sudden but you're all going to be taking a quirk assessment test." Aizawa explained to his test as Ochako's hand shot into the air. "And yes we're doing this instead of orientation. Anything you hear there is either in your syllabus or can be told to you later." The hand was slowly lowered.
"Now Izuku Midoriya step forward." He instructed as he watched the boy approach him. "You placed 1st in the entrance exam. Now what was your furthest distance in the ball throw in the middle school?" He questioned with Izuku tilting his head. "56 meters if I'm remembering correctly." Izuku told them as Aizawa threw him a soft ball.
"Now try it with your quirk. Anything goes as long as you stay in the circle." Aizawa instructed as Izuku made his way into the circle. "Wonder what he's going do to?" Denki Kamanari questioned while next to him Eijiro Kirishima grinned. "Well what ever it is, it's going to be manly!" He predicted not noticing Tenya and Yuga Aoyama tense up as the book appeared in his hands.
There was a pause before Izuku faced his teacher. "Tell me are we going for results or effort put in?" He questioned with Aizawa humming. "Results. Everyone needs to take this test seriously but I'm not going to judge you based on how much you're sweating by the end of it." He explained and more than a few of the students let out a breath they didn't didn't know they were holding,
"Good to know." Izuku told him while nodding in thanks. Opening his palm, his book was summoned to him before fling open. "As for my throw I know exactly what to do." He gave a wide grin as he said.
It was then that both the students and Aizawa noticed the world seemed to go a little bit quieter. "H-Hey what's going....on?" Mina Ashido stammered only to go silent as they noticed what could only be described as a tear opening in the air before a tentacle slithered out. The class watched frozen as Izuku deposited a the ball into it with a grin before it was pulled back into the rift which slowly closed it self.
Aizawa's phone went off promoting him to show Izuku and the class the infinity mark under his name. Izuku gave a laugh as he nodded. "Not bad at all." He remarked which seemed to break the what ever was keeping hold of the other students who broke into noise.
"IT WAS YOU!"
Instantly most of the class was surrounding him from all angels.
"Dude what the hell is your quirk anyway?! I thought I was gonna pass out from fright when I saw that giant tentacle come out of the sky?!" Hanta Sero exclaimed gesturing wildly with his hands.
"Yeah! It looked like the world was going to end!" Toru Hakakure shouted moving her invisible limbs moving wildly.
A boy with a raven head made his way through the crowd and gripped his arm. "Never did I imagine." He began to speak though his eyes shined with a great intensity. "That I would meet a fellow master of the dark here!" He bellowed with Izuku cackling.
"Oh to meet someone who also walks in the macabre I truly am blessed." Izuku said and the boy's eyes widened and a wide smile crossed his face.
Aizawa seeing this sighed and was about to move to get them back on track when he noticed the 3 who didn't surrounded Midoriya. Shoto Todoroki had his eyes narrowed dangerously, a look of challenge and drive in them before turning away from the green haired boy. Momo Yaoyorozu was looking at the boy with scrutiny, her hand to to her mouth as she spoke quietly to herself, something flashing in her eyes but vanishing before he could try and see what it was.
However the most troubling however was Bakugou. The boy was almost foaming at the mouth, his body was shaking with pure rage. "You idiots think that was impressive!" He roared at the class, spittle flying from his mouth. "That was fucking nothing!" He shouted with many of his classmates looking at him with raised eyebrows. "You think you can do better?" Sero questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"You're damn right you worthless piece of shit!" He answered storming past them missing their expressions from annoyed to anger. "I'm up next!" He demanded to his teacher who looked down at him with loathing. There were many reasons in Aizawa's mind that the boy in front of him shouldn't be a hero, his current health issues not anywhere close to the top of the list.
There are those that would feel some sympathy for the boy due to what happened to him and even give the kid some mercy. Aizawa however was aware of the meeting between Nezu and the Bakugou family and the deal that his boss offered them which Bakugou carelessly rejected.
To Shota Aizawa, Katsuki Bakugou was an entitled, arrogant bully who believes the world the entire world was existed merely to serve them and go along with his narrative and the eraser hero wanted nothing more than to get rid of the boy.
Sadly he couldn't do that yet so with one last unimpressed look he took a steep to the right to reveal a basket full of balls. With a sneer Bakugou grabbed one of the balls and stomped over to the circle before with a roar moving to throw the ball with everything he had.
"DIE!" He roared engulfing the area in smoke. "Damn it!" Kyoka Jirou A purple haired girl with jacks dangling from her ears hissed falling to her knees and holding her hands to her ears. Aizawa seeing this went over to her and kneeled down. "Hey you okay?" He asked looking her over. "Y-yeah. I think so." The girl confirmed as she slowly pulled her hands away allowing everyone to see blood leaking from her ears.
"Crap." She hissed before Aizawa stood. "Head over to the infirmary and get Recovery Girl to get your ears fixed up. You can make up the test you make when you get back." He instructed her getting a nod from the girl as she left the field.
A beeping from his pocket drew his attention and reminded him of just what the cause of the incident was. Turning the smoke cloud cleared and they all saw Bakugou standing there. Hunched over and breathing heavy, blood dripping from his mouth. The hand he used to cause the incident bleeding heavily.
"Well teach give me my score already!" He ordered still heaving. Seeing him in such a state caused concern from some of his classmates. "Hey man take it easy. Do you need to go to the infirmary?" Eijiro tried to calm him down while looking over his injuries. "Fuck that! I'm not so weak I need some worthless doctor!" Bakugou shouted out as more and more of his classmates where getting annoyed
"Look that giant explosion of your's hurt one of our classmates." Sero tired to informed him only for ashen haired blonde to sneer. "Who gives a shit about some weak ass extra!?" Bakugou sneered before turning to Aizawa expectedly. The man without so much as blinking brought out his phone which was clearly displaying. Invalid.
Bakugou blinked once than twice before growling. "Invalid? What the fuck does that mean?!" He questioned with AIzawa snorting. "It means invalid, zero, does not count. It's a score that only occurs when the ball has been destroyed." He answered. "Than let me do it again!" Bakugou demanded getting a tsk from Aizawa. "And do you think it's that simple in heroics? That you just get do overs? That's not how life works kid. The zero stands" He confirmed before facing the rest of his class.
"Now than before I was interrupted. I was going to explain that each of you will be going through the same tests you went through during middle school except this time you'll all be able to use your quirks." Aizawa said as the students of class 1a had matching looks of excitement and happiness but before they could each start to celebrate. "However you need to keep something in mind." He warned causing the class to tense up.
"We teachers here at UA have more freedom than most even when compared to over hero schools. So keep this in mind. Should I deem anyone here lacking or not suited for the hero course. You'll be expelled from the hero course." He warned terrifying the class into stunned silence.
However that silence was broken when by a low giggling causing everyone to turn to Izuku. "Well that explains why there wasn't a class 1a at the sports festival last year." Izuku remarked. "Holy crap that's right! There was no class 1a!" Denki Kamainari shouted, hands gripping his hair in panic.
As more and more students slowly started to panic one student raised her hand. "Excuse me sir?" She questioned causing everyone to turn to her.
Her name was Seiko Intelli and currently she was looking at her teacher with a raised eyebrow. "Pardon me sir, but I find it hard to believe that a school as prestigious as UA would allow black marks on our records for failing to meet expectations and getting expelled from UA over a simple test." She theorized and to many of her class mates surprise their teacher. "You're correct UA won't allow that over a simple test like this." He confirmed getting a smirk from Seiko and sighs of relief from the class.
"However." Aizawa continued. "You need to listen more carefully to what I said." He informed. "I never said you'd be expelled from UA just the hero course, meaning that you'd be transferring over to another one of UA's courses. Thus no marks appearing on your records." He explained taking just a bit of joy as the girl's eyes widened in realization and slight panic. A look match now by the majority of the class.
"Now who's next?" He questioned with the class looking unsure before hesitantly Ochako raised her hand. "I'll go." She volunteered before scurrying over and grabbing a ball. Though when she noticed Bakugou still standing in the circle with a look of rage and hate in his eyes she hesitated. Though Aizawa quickly put a stop to that when he leveled a glare a thousand times worse at the boy.
Bakugou still glared but he did have to repress a shudder as he left the circle and stood apart from the rest of the class. Stepping into the circle. Ochako took a deep breath before applying her quirk to the ball before giving it a toss. The ball soared through the air and soon was a twinkle in the sky. Nervously she turned to her teacher who held out his phone where to her and the rest of the class disbelief was another Infinite symbol.
If the class wasn't nervous before they certainly were now. After all how do you compete after two scores of infinite. "Excuse me sir, may I go next?" Seiko asked politely though everyone could see the glint in eyes." Nodding Aizawa tossed her a ball which she caught. "Thank you." She smiled politely as she walked to the circle. However right as she passed Ochako she spoke. "Excuse Uraraka would you mind using your quirk on this please?" The monocle wearing girl requested getting a surprised look from the chestnut haired girl who looked over to Aziawa who made no move to stop her.
Hesitantly she took the ball and applied her quirk getting a smile and thanks from the periwinkle haired girl as she took the ball to the circle. Like before the ball flew out the sight and Aizawa was soon showing the class yet another infinite.
"Hey wait that's not fair!" Sero complained pointing accursedly at Intelli. "Yeah her she didn't even use her quirk!" Mina accused to which Aizawa raised an eyebrow at. "And what if her quirk wasn't suited for physical means. Thinking outside the box is valuable when it comes to being a hero. "He lectured nodding in approval to Seiko who smirked before the teacher looked towards Ochako. "That being said, no one else is allowed to use your quirk for the test. I allowed Intelli to do it because it was clever but anyone else doing it would be lazy." He instructed the gravity defying girl who nodded in understanding.
"Excuse me sir I would like to go next." Momo Yaoyorozu volunteered and after getting a nod from their teacher she headed to the circle with her ball. And before everyone's eyes she unzipped her jacket and proceeded to create an entire cannon from her torso.
"HOLY CRAP!" Toru shouted watched as the pony tailed girl while panting and noticeably thinner loaded the cannon and fired. The ball was blasted out of sight and a few moments later Aizawa's phone went off showing her score of 1 kilometer. Momo smiled happily at her score only to noticed the look of disapproval on Aizawa's face.
"Was a cannon really necessary?" He questioned getting a confused look from the girl. "You know there were 8 tests meaning there are 7 more after this and yet you choose to create something that reduces you to that?" he questioned before shaking his head as he moved the cannon out of the circle leaving the girl to hand her head low in defeat as she headed back to the others.
The test continued with more and more students took their turn and while watching this Seiko approached Izuku who noticed her approach. "What can I do for you?" He greeted her with a nod getting a smile from the girl. "Nothing really simply curious as to the top scorer of the entrance exam." She explained getting a grin from the boy. "And what do you think, did I live up to hype?" He asked getting an amused humph from Seiko. "I would say so far yes just remember that you're not the only who scored infinite on the ball throw." She warned him causing Izuku to giggle.
"Oh belive me, I won't it! Especially with that clever that trick you pulled!: He giggled causing Seiko to smirk and flip her hair. "A risk I will admit but one that payed off in the end." She bragged before holding out her hand. "Seiko Intelli." She introduced herself with Izuku grasping her hand with his own. "Izuku Midoirya, it's a pleasure." Izuku said fully introducing himself causing the girl to smirk,
"Well then Midoriya, let's try and get along."
Line break.
The next test was the 50 meter dash.
The first few test went simple enough but it was when Mina and Yuga Aoyama took their turns that the class learned just how seriously Aizawa was taking this. "Ashido, Aoyama point deduction." Aizawa warned them causing the two students to gasp. "What why?!" Mina demanded with Aizawa pointing towards where glops of her acid was melting through the ground.
"You both had good ideas on how to do the exercise but you were to sloppy on the execution. Ashido work on the level of viscosity of your acid so it's safe to be used in such a manner. Aoyama your aim needs improving, several of your classmates had to duck to avoid your laser. Remember kids it doesn't matter what your quirk is without control and experience it's a just ike any other dangerous weapon." He scolded the two getting nods from alien loving girl and frenchman.
Next noticeable runners were Tsuyu Asui a girl with a frog quirk and Fumikage Tokoyami, the bird headed boy from before who had a living shadow creature as a quirk. Once the test began Fumikage sent Dark Shadow over the finish line while Tsuyu hoped until she was close enough to quickly fire and get her tongue across.
Over notable runs were Ochako who decreased the weight of her clothing, Momo who created a simple pair of roller skates and Iida who blew everyone out of the water so fair with his turbo jets.
Finally it was down to Izuku and Bakugou. The later of who was glaring murderously at the former clenching his hands together and ignoring the pain in his injured one after ignoring Aizawa's advice to head towards the infirmary. "You're going down Deku!" He threatened only getting a hum. "Well, we'll just see about that." Izuku grinned cheekily as he summoned his book and opened it to a certain page. Fog started to bellow out around Izuku making it hard for people to see though after several seconds a figure emerged standing right next to Izuku.
More then a few of the students were creeped out by the new arrival and hesitantly backed away causing Izuku to grin as he gestured to his summon. "Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to Sally Smithson, the Nurse." He introduced causing sally to groan. Paying the footing, bloodied specter no mind Aizawa moved things along as he signaled the robot to start the final test.
"Ready....G-Izuku Midoriya, time 0.01 seconds." The robot announced after Izuku and the nurse vanished from their starting positions and to the other side as the rest of the class gasped gasped in disbelief. This didn't last long however as they were blasted back by Bakugou as he flew down the pitch. However half way down his hand started to seize up cancelling his quirk causing him to tumble erratically on the ground before plowing over the finish line at 7.17 seconds.
Bakugou was growling as he clutched his aching hand. "Bakugou point deduction!" Aizawa scowled causing Bakugou to snarl and face his teacher. "Watch the friendly fire! And don't turn yourself into a liability by over using your quirk!" Aizawa scolded the teen who looked seconds away from snapping. The teacher paid him no mind however and led the students into the gym.
The next test the students including a now healed Jirou did was a grip strength test. The biggest standout so far was Meo Shoji who scored a very respectably 540KG. Izuku meanwhile was humming as he flipped through his tome before he stopped on a particular page. "Oh you'll do nicely." He giggled as fog once more started to surround him. This time however there was a loud thumb, thumb. thumb and when the figure did appear everyone had to look up to meet his eyes.
'He's as big as All Might!' The class thought with a shudder as the green haired boy handed the scale to Mr.X who gave it a squeeze. It briefly read 999KG before it burst apart causing Aizawa to groan and Izuku to chuckle sheepishly. "Heh heh. Sorry about that sensei." He apologized with the man massing the bridge of his nose.
"It's fine, not like the first time it happened." He reassured the boy who sighed in relief. "Though I am curious why you didn't just morph your arm like you did in the entrance exam?" He questioned with Izuku rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Morphing takes a lot more energy out of me than summoning, and I try to limit it until I can get a better handle on it. That and I knew Mr.X could have gotten me the top spot." The boy gestured to Mr.X who nodded and disappeared into another wave of fog.
Aizawa nodded in understanding. "We'll need to work on your endurance and stamina then." Aizawa wrote down in the notes he had been taking.
After than came the seated-toe touch. This test had some of the most impressive results. Those like Kyoka, Mezo and Fumikage and Tsu used their quirks to extend their reach while others like Mina, Yuga, Seiko and surprisingly Iida showed a great deal of flexibility and reached far beyond what most would think he was cable of.
Momo have saved some of her lipids from doing the grip test without creating anything was able to create a 5 foot long mannequin arm. Midoriya one again went last and they were curious on what kind of creature he was going to summon to help him.
So it came as a shock when instead of summoning his book Izuku both dislocated and elongated his arms before his classmates eyes.
"Dude!" Denki shouted in shock, filching a little as he moved arms around. The looks of shock and slight disgust brought along another round of giggles from Izuku. "What can I say? I wanted a few tricks outside of my quirk." Izuku explained before grunting. "Though I will admit I could do without the pain." He muttered before sitting down and taking the test.
Once that was done Aizawa tilted his head. "Midoriya you can get your arms back to normal right?" He questioned though judging by the tone everyone could tell it was more than that. Luckily Izuku jumped to his feet and in just a couple of short motions had his arms back to normal. Flexing his fingers and rolling his shoulders for emphasis.
With that done the next test was for sit ups. The more physically cable students were able to show case their physical abilities. Sero, Fumikage and Tsuyu was able to use their quirks to grab on to the rafters and pull themselves up. Izuku consulted his book again for this as the already familiar to the class fog rolled in with each wondering just what kind of monster would be brought in his time.
"Hi Sweetie!"
Which is why it came as a shock to everyone including Aizawa when a giant toy appeared.
"Hello Mommy Longlegs!" Izuku greeted his grin growing wider when he saw the gobsmacked looks on his classmates face. "Sorry to be so direct but I'm in the middle of a physical test right now and I was wondering if you could melp me with the sit up portion." He asked with Longlegs nodding rapidly.
"Of course I can!" She cheered before looking up and seeing the rafters were Sero's tape, Tsu's tongue and Dark Shadow were.Jumping up with ease Long Legs than reached her arms down and wrapped them around Izuku's torso.
The 4 students made it further than any of their classmates and only stopped when AIzawa told them to.
The students headed back outside and after Jirou did the ball throw and 50 meter dash the class headed to the next test which the was the side step test. This was the one test Minrou Mineta absolutely killed easily scoring the top spot. After him came Seiko, Momo and Mina who all had plenty of experience dancing came after him followed by Izuku who had focused on agility.
Bakugou had attempted to use his quirk to blast himself from side to side but after a few blast his arms had hit their limits for the day and he collapsed and started to wheeze.
The long jump came after that.
Both Mina and Aoyama approached this test with glints of determination. Both leaping as far as they could in the air and after making sure they were a safe distance both activated their quirks to clear the distance.
Looking nervously towards their teacher he hummed as he examined the results before looking at them. "Better." He told them causing Aoyama to pose and Mina to cheer. Momo was next. Creating a massive pole She was able to catapult herself over the hurtle before leaping.
However it was clear she was at her limit. She was sweating heavily, rather pale and noticeably skinner than she was before she started the exam.
"Head to the nurses office." He told the girl whose eyes widened. "But sir I-!" She tried to say only for AIzawa to shut her down instantly. "Any more and you'll be putting yourself in danger and I won't allow that. Now do you need any help getting to the nurses's office?" The man questioned the pony tailed girl. The girl looked like she wanted to protest this result but in the end she simply hung her head. "No sensei, I can make it on my own." She promised before turning around and walking away.
And while it may have been slower than norma; she was taking steady steps which seemed to be steady. This gave Aizawa enough assurance to move on to the test but he did message Recovery Girl to let her know what had happened.
The next two to stand out was Tsuyu who was simply jumped distance and surprisingly Mineta who after quickly creating a few piles of his orbs was able to bounce over the clearing before cleaning them away.
As for Izuku he found simplicity was best and merely summoned a giant bird to fly him over.
When it came to the last test however which was the endurance run most of the students looked ready to drop after about 10 laps. The only outliners were Tenya Iida who made 25 laps before finally collapsing leaving only Izuku left circling the course. Though given what Izuku summoned there wasn't really any other outcome.
Aizawa held in the snort of amusement when he saw the incredulous looks from his class as he watched entered the vehicle as the undead driver tipped his hat to the teen before taking his place behind the wheel.
Honestly what are these kids expecting a summoner to do, run it themselves?
Once all the tests were done Aizawa had the remaining 19 students lined up. "Now than instead of wasting time I'm going to simply show case everyone's scores at once." Aizawa said as he pressed a button on his phone and the scores were revealed.
Unsurprisingly Izuku was in first place. However what did shock everyone was that Shoto Todoroki was in dead last with Katsuki Bakugou directly above him in 19th Frowning Aizawa addressed his students. "Bakugou and Todoroki stay behind. The rest of you go change, pick up your syllabus and head home. You were all acceptable today but don't rest on your accomplishments. Each day is a new day." He dismissed them.
Some of the class left immediately while others looked towards the two boys wondering if this was the last time they'd seen them.
Once they were alone Aizawa glared at the two boys in front of him who glared right back. "Alright let's start with you. I told you to give these test all you had and you blatantly ignored that. Why did you not use your full quirk when it could have clearly gotten you a better score?" Aizawa questioned with Todoroki sneering back.
"You should be asking that to Midoriya. He didn't even look like he taking this serious." Shoto fired back but the teacher gave a bored look."Oh yes because god forbid someone who summons allies actually uses said summons. As an opposed to you who looked to be suffering from frostbite several times today." Aizawa fired back and the boy had the decency to flinch before glaring back.
"So I'll ask you again why didn't you use your quirk to the fullest?" Aizawa questioned the duel haired boy. For several seconds Shoto curled and uncurled his fist taking a brief glance at the boy besides him and seems relived when the boy seemed to focus on himself to be paying attention.
"I made a promise years ago. That I would become a hero with only my mother's ice and to never use my father's fire." Aizawa relived getting a very disappointed and even angry look from his teacher. "So that's it? Some childish declaration and your pride to beat your dad is what's keeping you from our fullest potential?" Aizawa demanded expecting a to hear a number of excuses.
What he wasn't expecting was a look of pure rage and loathing to enter the young man's eyes. "I want nothing to do with him or his quirk. I will prove that he is nothing to me and I can succeed as a hero with only my mother's ice!" He practically shouted unaware of what Aizawa thoughts.
'There's something there.'The teacher thought. 'It goes beyond simple pride. He's oozing rage and hatred. Just what the hell could have caused it?" Aizawa questioned before shaking his head.
"Regardless of your reason it's still inexcusable to only use half your quirk. And if you don't start using your fire by the time of the sports festival you're out of the hero course." Aizawa said and was happy to see a look of outrage fear crossing the boy's face before it became a snarl and he stormed off leaving Aizawa alone with Bakugou.
Before the ashen blonde could even open his mouth Aizawa started talking. "Let me perfect clear. I don't think you have what it takes to be a hero both physically and mentally." Aizawa stated bluntly. "THE HELL DID YOU JUST SAY?"! Bakugou shouted only to have another coughing fit before glaring weakly at his teacher.
"Exactly my point." Aizawa muttered coldly. His sympathy for the boy having long evaporated after his showing today. "Not only did you pass up the logical and generous offer principal Nezu gave you, but you've also acted like an animal trying to show your class mates up and showed no care for your classmates nor did you show any remorse when your actions resulted in them getting injured."
"IT'S NOT MY FAULT THOSE WORTHLESS EXTRAS ARE WEAK!" Katsuki snapped causing just a couple of explosions to emit from his palm, A moment later his explosions were gone and he was wrapped in Aizawa's capture scarf.
"Those extra as you call them are your classmates, and at the moment each of them have a far better chance than you of becoming a hero." He told Katsuki, his tone becoming arctic. "You have until the sports festival to prove you have what it takes to be a hero or you're out of the hero course." Aizawa warned to the gasping in disbelief before unfurling the boy and walking away.
All the while ignoring the death glare Bakugou was aiming at his back.
Line break.
"Oh man that was intense!"
The boys were in the changing room when Sero proclaimed this and instantly almost everyone was talking. "I know right?! I don't think I'd ever ben more nervous when taking a test!" Denki laughed beside Kirishima. "I still don't understand why we had to do it! My scalp's going to be killing all night!" Mineta whined as he rubbed his head which was still aching from the amount of balls he threw.
"Hey man don't complain, everyone was so manly out there!" He tired to encourage the shortest of their class before looking at his arms unsure. "I just wish I had a chance to show off my quirk today, but Hardening really doesn't have that many applications outside of combat." The red haired muttered only to hear laughter. "Oh don't be so hard on yourself Kirishima, I'm sure you'll find plenty of uses for your quirk before your time here comes to an end." He reassured the sharp tooth teen getting a grateful smile.
"Thanks man that means a lot, though compared to quirks like your's and Todoroki's its uses are pretty simple." Kirshima muttered and Denki perked up. "What even is your quirk Midoriya? It's way too powerful!" Denki questioned as now everyone's attention was now on him. Tokoyami in particular seemed locked in on hearing this.
Seeing all their expressions Izuku's grin widened as he summoned his book. "I call it Monster Manuel. With it I can access a world created by my quirk where all the creatures, killers and whatever else my quirk created called home. Later on I learned I can summon on items, use ablates and spells and even become the killers themselves. Finally I learned my quirk is based off my imagination. So when ever I see something new a new chapter is added to the book which I'm free to use." Izuku explained to his gasping classmates.
"That's so manly!" Kirshima shouted as Denki and Kamanari shouted in unison. "MORE LIKE UNFAIR!" They cried. "Revelry in the dark" Was all Tokoyami could mutter in awe.
Giving a giggle Izuku waved his hands. "Now now gentlemen. There are quite a few downsides to my quirk." He admitted before holding up a finger. First all these abilities take a toll on my stamina. The more powerful the spell and the more abilities I use. The more summons I call at one time also drains me with the same going with the items." Izuku began his explanation before holding up a second finger.
"Second transforming my body is rather unpleasant and could become unstable the more mutations I add to it. Not to mention the more I transform the more like the monster I become mentally." Izuku went on before finally holding up a final finger.
"Finally if I call different kind of summons, the side effects are unpleasant to say the least." Izuku finished explaining the downsides to his quirk. 'Well most of the downsides.' Izuku thought to himself.
There was one more downside to his quirk but there was no way he was going to open that can of worms.
Unaware of this the rest of the boys seemed a little relived that the quirk wasn't all powerful like they thought. "Still though it's an amazing quirk." Mezo said. "Yeah both you and Todoroki have amazing quirks. Makes me wonder why Mr,Aizawa wanted him to stay behind." Denki questioned.
"Maybe he knows something about Todoroki's quirk that we don't. A hidden part that he could have used during the exam." Aoyama questioned with many of the boys nodding. "Well he has a better chance at making it than that explosive jerk." Sero mutter getting nods from most of the boys.
"Hey come on guys it's obvious he's sick." Kirishima defended the guy, not liking they were talking about the guy behind his back. "Then he shouldn't be part of a such a mentally and physically taxing program." Mezo rebutted calmly. "Well we don't know how long he's been sick it could just some really bad timing." The red head wasn't back down.
"It's almost been a year and he hadn't let himself recover properly." Izuku told his classmates. "Ive known him since we were babies and I can tell you that whatever happened to him has made his personality even worse. Not that it wasn't anything good in the first place." Izuku explained before looking at Kirishima.
"I'm not saying this to dissuade you from becoming his friend. Just giving you a warning from someone that's know him for years that you'll be facing an uphill battle." Izuku cautioned with Eijiro giving a thumbs up. "Thanks bro, but I'll get through to him." Kirshima promised as he and the rest of his classmates left the locker room.
Line break.
"Well Shota what do you think of your most recent class?" Nezu asked the underground hero late into the afternoon as they meet in the animal's office. The man hummed as he looked over his notes. "Promising for the most part. Though I'm already seeing a few issues." Aizawa cautioned with Nezu tilting his head.
Seeing this Aizawa began his explanation. "First we have two obvious problem children. Izuku Midoriya has great control over his quirk and a great mindset but there's just something about him that's off to me. Half the time it's like I watching a rookie hero not a hero student on his first day of school. He's definitely seen things and that worries me." Aizawa explained getting a hum from Nezu. "Well we just have to make sure to keep an eye on him and make sure that bad feeling stays a bad feeling." Nezu proposed getting a nod from Aizawa.
"The other one is Seiko Intelli. She scored the highest on the written exam, scoring a perfect score and was able to lead a group of students in destroying robots and rescuing other students. Showing she already has impressive leadership skills and a genius mind. However it's that genius mind that worries me. To many times we've seen those with mentalities such as her get themselves and others hurt and what's worse she has the intelligence to inspire people to go above the limits in the worst case scenarios."
"So we need to make sure she gets a dose of reality without crushing her. Trickle but very doable." Nezu remarked getting sigh from Aizawa. "Now on to the more prominent issues. Starting with Minerou Mineta. While he pulled off some clever tricks with his quirk he also seemed lazy and unmotivated. On top of that I caught him looking at the female students with less than honest intentions." Aizawa warned getting a narrowed eyes from Nezu. "Then we'll make sure to keep a close eye on him."
"After that we have Momo Yaoyorozu. At first glance she's everything one would look for in a hero student. But if we did a little deeper there are problems that con prove detrimental. She overreacted during the softball throw which hindered her performance in the other test and when she collapsed and I sent her to the infirmary she tired to fighting and to finish the test despite her state." Aizawa explained as Nezu hummed. "Pressures from home? We see that in students that have been sheltered like Yaoyorzou seems to have been." Nezu theorized.
"Maybe but I'm doubtful it was anything intentional on her parent's part. Though I will be drawing up a diet plan for the girl along with Recovery Girl. If they accept it or request a meeting to discuss it I think we can rule it out. If they flat out reject it however then we might need to look into the girl's home life." Aizawa explained with Nezu nodding. "I'll take a look at the plan you create as well but right now it simply sounds like a socially awkward girl who simply needs to adjust to a new environment."
Letting out a breath Aizawa moved on. "Now to first of the real problems. Shoto Todoroki has more than a few problems that need to be worked out. Case in point his refusal to use his fire and some very negative feelings towards his father." Aizawa explains with Nezu frowning. "Abuse?" Nezu flat out quesiotned with Aizawa grunting. "Not completely sure yet but it's definitely more likely than the Yaoyorzou situation. Though I do believe we can salvage it. He showed genuine fear at the thought of getting removed from the hero course."
"So it's not to late then." Nezu muttered before sighing. "In that case I'll start a private investigation into Endeavor's home life. We can't openly accuse him of anything without any proof but we can do it from the shadows." The animal muttered as Aizawa rubbed his temple.
"Katsuki Bakugou. Horrible behavior, no regard for his fellow classmates, willing to become a labially to his friends and comrades if it meant proving a point." Aizawa recited before looking at Nezu. "I recommend immediately moving him to the general course." Aizawa advised with the principal sighing.
"As much as I would like to I believe waiting to see if he improves before the sports festival would be best. Despite his attitude he is quite intelligent and after going through the harsh hero training he might come to the way we see things." Nezu explained with Aizawa grunting. "Or just make him even angrier than he already is." Aizawa theorized with Nezu sighing. "At the moment Bakugou Katsuki has earned his place in the hero course and although he is on extremely thin ice he is still a part of it." Nezu told the man.
"But believe me Aizawa. The moment he crosses the line he will be removed, doesn't matter if it's just from the hero course or from UA in general. Same as any other student." Nezu reassured him as Shota sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair. "Even you say so sir." Aizawa muttered before looking out the window,
"I'm just worried exactly what that crossed line's gonna be."
To be continued.
And that's another chapter done and we're officially in Class 1a. And before anyone ask Seiko replaced Ojiro. I've got an idea for him but for now just know he's at another hero school.
Anyway I hope everyone enjoyed the chapter and the ways Izuku used his quirk. I'm also starting work on Aizawa being a better teacher as well as some problems his students might have a problem with in the future.
Don't really have that much to say here as this chapter was supposed to be with the battle trials but I figured that can be it's own chapter.
Well that's it for now.
Till next time,
bye.
