A/n: heyo so random question if you could have only one original super power what would it be?

Jaune is on the red leaf covered ground, Cardin is looming over him, the bright red sap still on his armor. Cardin grabs Jaune and picks him up, grinning as he gut punched Jaune sending him back to the ground.

Cardin: You know that wasn't very smart, Jauney boy.

Cardin picks Jaune back up with the rest of CRDL watching.

Cardin: I'm gonna make sure they send you back to mommy in teeny tiny pieces.

Jaune was hanging limply as Cardin picked him up, his right eye black from bruising coupled with a few scraps on his cheeks.

Jaune: I don't care what you do to me...

Jaune picked his head up staring Cardin right in the eyes. Inside Jaune's sky blue eyes a inferno was held.

Jaune: ... but you are not messing with my team!

Cardin was shocked by the sudden out burst from Jaune. But he quickly got over his shock.

Cardin: What? You think talk like that makes you tough? You think you're a big strong man now?

Jaune smiled in defiance. This enraged Cardin as he shouts and raises his fist again, but just as the hit connects, a bright light shines from Jaune. The light was so bright everyone within the vicinity was blinded. As the light died down Cardin was crying out in pain as he holds his hand. Jaune, now back on the ground but completely healed, looks confusedly at his hands as they faintly glow white. While he stares, though, Sky Lark kicks Jaune in the back and gets him on his stomach, but he looks up and glares at the approaching Cardin.

Cardin: Let's see how much of a man you really are...

Suddenly a blur slams into the ground tumbling while shouting.

Y/n: Sweet Mother Teresa on the hood of Mercedes Benz!!

Both Cardin and Jaune were confused as the Ponoga faunus rolled by like a tumble weed throwing up the crimson leafs. Although their confusion didn't last long as they heard a low growl from behind them. Team CRDL turns around and sees a large paw crash onto the scene, belonging to a huge Ursa Major with dozens of jagged spikes sticking out from its wide back. It leaps forward and stands over the terrified students, lifting its head in the air to smell the sap on Cardin's breastplate. It lands back on its forelegs and roars at Cardin while his teammates heroically flee, while screaming for their lives.

Russel: That's a big Ursa!

Cardin is rooted to the spot when the Grimm swings its claws and knocks him sideways, revealing Jaune cowering behind him. The Ursa continues to sniff, uninterested in Jaune and following its nose to Cardin. He watches at it towers over Cardin, who gets his wits and pulls out his mace, The Executioner only for the monster to swipe it away to Jaune's feet. He looks conflicted, wondering whether to fight or run away.

Meanwhile, the roar of the giant Ursa is heard by the members of Teams RWBY, DCN and JNPR, still collecting sap on the other side of the forest. And Y/n tumbling down as he hit a tree, Neo looked down at him with red sap covering the better part of her lower face. Although Ruby was more concerned about the roar.

Ruby: Did you guys hear that?

Suddenly, the remaining members of Team CRDL are seen running the other way from the roar through the other students. One of them was shouting about an Ursa until he hit Yang and fell. Yang was completely unaffected by the collision simply picks him up.

Yang: What?! Where?

Russel: Back there! It's got Cardin!

Pyrrha dropped her jar in shock.

Pyrrha: Jaune!

Ruby went into full on leader mode.

Ruby: Yang! You and Blake, go get Professor Goodwitch!

Yang drops Russel as she and Blake nod then run off to fulfill their leader's orders.

Pyrrha: You two, go with them! There could be more!

Diana: Carl, Neo! You both go with them just in case there actually are more and if they get attacked.

Carl and Neo took off full sprint to accompany the others.

Diana: and judging from where scales mcwales came from he knows the way, to come on your our guide!

She easily picks up Y/n as the trot off to help.

Cardin is attempting to run from the following Ursa, but it leaps over its prey and claws him away. He tries to get up and crawl away.

Cardin: Crap! Crap, crap!

Just then Pyrrha, Ruby, Weiss, and DR arrived.

Pyrrha: Oh, no!

They watch as the Ursa leans over the helpless victim, raising its paw and swiping it down... only to be blocked by Jaune's shield as he wields Crocea Mors. He struggles to defend a stunned Cardin from its attempts to lean on him, but Weiss lifts Myrtenaster as she prepares to go help.

Y/n & Pyrra: Wait!

They say to Weiss although Y/n's is more disoriented as he gains his barings.

Jaune takes the shield out from the Ursa's paw and slashes at its stomach, causing it to lash out and try to crush him. He rolls out of the way and jumps over its swipe at his feet, but he is unprepared for when it launches a claw at him in midair. He lands far away, yet is immediately back on his feet and passing Cardin as he charges again. The Ursa knocks Jaune behind it when he tries for a leaping attack, and he looks at the Scroll in his shield to find out that his Aura level is in the red. He grows angry again and starts to run at the Ursa as it also begins to dash towards him.

Jaune: IM TAKING YOU DOWN WINNE THE UGLIEST POOH!!

As they are just about to clash in slow-motion, Pyrrha sees that Jaune has left himself completely open to the Ursa's attack, and lifts her hand out to him, gathering dark red energy in her arm. Just as the Ursa is about to hit him, the glow surrounds Jaune's shield and makes it lift up to block the swipe. Jaune uses the surprise defensive move to lean on the ground, push his shield back up, and swing his blade right through the Ursa's neck. The head rolls as the body slams onto the ground.

Ruby: Uhhh... What?

Weiss: How did you...?

Pyrrha: Well, Ruby has her speed, you have your glyphs. My Semblance is polarity.

Ruby: Whoa, you can control poles...

Weiss: No, you dunce! It means she has control over magnetism!

Diana: but poles are cool

This didn't affect Ruby as she was still in awe as she whispered.

Ruby: Magnets are cool, too...

Pyrrha starts walking away. That's when Diana realized Y/n was asleep.

Weiss: Wait, where are you going?

Ruby: Yeah! We gotta tell them what happened!

Pyrrha: We could... Or perhaps we could keep it our little secret?

Pyrrha starts walking away again as Ruby and Weiss smile to each other in understanding following after her. Leaving a bruised Jaune who sheathes his weapon before going over to Cardin.

Cardin, still covered in sap, looks up at Jaune as his savior offers a hand. Cardin smiles as he takes it and is lifted back up on his feet.

Cardin: Holy crap, Jaune!

As Jaune helps him up he glares at Cardin with the fury of a thousand suns.

Jaune: Don't ever mess with my team - my friends - ever again. Got it?

Cardin looks intimidated, possibly even apologetic. With his order spoken, Jaune turns and walks away from a frozen Cardin.

Later that night after they got back, Y/n was heading to his teams dorm after getting checked out by a doctor. As he reaches his door he runs into Pyrrha.

Y/n: sorry about that.

Pyrrha: no it's fine. How's your head?

Y/n: oh it's barely a minor concussion. Gotta thank the genetics for a hard head am I right.

He said making a knocking motion on the side of his head without actually touching it. Pyrrha gave a light giggle as his antics.

Pyrrha: also I've been wanted to thank you for earlier but you were in with the doctor.

Y/n: what do you mean?

Pyrrha: when you helped me help Jaune, don't think I didn't notice. You somehow slowed things down just enough so I could assess the situation and help Jaune.

Y/n: oh yeah I guess you got me, hehehe

Pyrrha: if you don't mind me asking, what was it? Was it your semblance?

Y/n looked thoughtful, he's gotta still talk with his team about it. Then he came to a conclusion.

Y/n: alright but first Im gonna make you a deal.

Pyrrha: alright what's the deal?

Y/n: make sure Jaune gets strong, because I wanna have a fight with him.

Pyrrha looked confused.

Pyrrha: well I already kinda planned on doing that.

Y/n: oh well that was a waste of a deal, but anyhow my semblance is Cryo-Kronokinesis I know a mouth full. Slowing or stopping time.

Pyrrha had a slightly surprised look at the name. Before she nodded.

Pyrrha: alright well now I must go meet Jaune.

Y/n: oh one more thing,

Pyrrha: what is it?

Y/n: Jaune's putting his faith in you don't let him down.

Pyrrha: I would never dream of doing such a thing.

Y/n: good, well goodnight Pyrrha.

Pyrrha: see you at class tomorrow.

Pyrrha walks off to go join Jaune on the roof for training. Meanwhile Y/n enters his room preparing for a whole night worth of explanation about his semblance.

Pyrrha walks up to Jaune's side as he looks out over the green lights of Beacon.

Pyrrha: No Cardin tonight? I thought you two were best buds?

Jaune turns towards Pyrrha and starts apologizing.

Jaune: Pyrrha... I'm sorry. I was a jerk! You were only trying to be nice, and... I had all this stupid macho stuff in my head-

Pyrrha: Jaune! It's okay!

They both smile at each other before Pyrrha adds:

Pyrrha: Your team really misses their leader, you know.

She starts walking towards the exit before turning around.

Pyrrha: You should come down! Ren made pancakes! No syrup, though - you can thank Nora for that!

Jaune smiles but before she could leave he calls out telling her to wait. As she turns Jaune looks down sheepishly.

Jaune: I know I don't deserve it after all that happened, but... would you still be willing to help me... to help me become a better fighter?

Pyrrha turns around so a worried Jaune won't see her satisfied smile. She goes up to Jaune and suddenly pushes her leader to the ground.

Jaune: Hey!

He calls out before looking up at her. Pyrrha was standing over him with her arms on her hips and an evaluating tone.

Pyrrha: Your stance is all wrong. You need to be wider and lower to the ground.

she offers him her hand, which he graciously accepts, and they continue to hold on to and grin at each other.

Pyrrha: Let's try that again.

With that Pyrrha started Jaune's training, both were happy. At least Pyrrha was, Jaune's grin didn't last long as Pyrrha made him run around Beacon.....twice.
