RING-A-RING-A-ROSIE Part Three
3.
From his findings on an autopsy of the body found at the abandoned house, the coroner for Castletown concluded that the young man had died from the effects of a heart attack brought on by fear. He was literally scared to death. With the news of recent events spreading through the town, many called for the destruction of that abandoned house on the edge of town saying that it should indeed be burnt down to the ground with the whole site being subsequently bulldozed clear with the possibilities of the site being totally redeveloped.
There would be the thoughts that if this did happen, then wouldn't strange occurrences continue to take place on whatever would be developed onto this land and possibly whatever evil that resides there may become free to roam wherever and whenever it likes. There would also be those who would strongly feel that the house should stay right where it is and be left alone with the intentions that it keeps that evil at bay to some degree and that the place itself could become some kind of tourist attraction and that ghostly tours out to the area could take place.
The idea of a tour actually went into action though only one tour would ever take place. A bus tour went out to the derelict house with the intentions that it would be nothing more than a drive by tour with a commentator being on board the bus to share its details and history. Things would get a little out of control when the occupants of the bus decided to take a closer look, a much closer luck with many stating that they do not believe there is any supernatural goings on taking place there at all.
When the bus would resume its journey, some would state that they heard a young child, possibly a girl, cry while they were at that house though there were no children at all on the tour. Some found the headstone out the back to be interesting and those who stuck their cameras inside the house only got back photos of nothing more than darkness, pure pitch black even though they would be sure that the flashes would have provided some lighting.
The strange thing would be that many would go on to report that they were having dreams of children playing Ring-A-Ring a Rosie prior to having gone on the tour and for weeks after too.
It soon became a point that this sort of attention was not what the town of Castletown wanted so one of the previously discussed options would be put into effect. The house was to be burnt down and demolished and the whole area would be bulldozed. Work soon got underway to begin building an apartment complex and that construction would not progress quite as smoothly as it would have been planned.

With the building of an apartment complex being well underway, something would happen which would prove that whatever supernatural force that had existed would still be present no matter the fact the building in which it had be contained had been destroyed, thing would now be a question of what this force may have gained.
For most working on the building site, one particular workday had come to an end. Just two workers remained on the grounds. Not much more than scaffolding and the basic outer structure had gone up at this point. Davey and Arnold were just finishing up with what they were working on. Not long into a Friday evening meant a weekend off from work was coming up.
'See the match there Wednesday night?' asked Davey.
'I did indeed, some first goal that was.'
'Yeah. Doing anything for the footie tomorrow?'
'Give me a call if you are around and we'll ...'
'What's wrong brother?'
'Hold on a sec, do you hear that?'
'Hear what?'
Arnold had not heard anything out of the ordinary though when Davey moved away, Arnold would follow. The two men were up on the second level. Flooring had yet to go in, so long wooden planks had been strategically placed to make movement that bit easier. Davey entered an area due to become an apartment. It had several planks of wood placed together and in the centre of these planks sat a little girl with her back to Davey. She just sat there crying. Arnold arrived right behind Davey and saw exactly what his friend could.
'Little girl, little girl, you can't be up here. It is not safe to play' spoke Davey.
The girl continued to cry as if nothing had been said to her.
'I am sorry young lady; can you tell us your name?' asked Arnold.
This time she turned her body and head round and spoke a 'hi'. There would be a slight pause. Davey and Arnold were unsure how to react to this. 'Wanna play a game?' the girl asked as she stood and began to skip.
Davey reached out with his left arm fearful that the girl might fall but he was nowhere near her.
'Please little girl, it is not safe up here.'
The girl stopped right in the center of the planks and looked right at the two men then vanished.
'What the hell?' asked Arnold.
They both turned and were met with a 'BOO'. The girl had appeared as quickly as she had vanished, transported from one spot to another to say one word before vanishing again. Arnold almost lost his balance though Davey was able to help him out. Whether in shock or denial, the two quickly put away what they needed to put away and vacated the premises and as they left, they could hear what sounded like a number of children sing.
Ring-a-ring- a Rosie, a pocket full of posies. A tishoo! A tishoo! We all fall down.
Neither Davey nor Arnold returned to the site either to work or for any other reason.

Time passes no quicker or slower than at any other time or any other place though perception may state otherwise. The apartment complex is now complete and completely occupied. A young single mom goes grocery shopping before picking up her eight-year-old son from school. The boy sees his mum's car as soon as he exits the school grounds, he gets in the back and straps himself in.
'Hi honey, how was your day?'
'Fine mom, do you have to work today?'
'No, my little guy, it's just you and me all day today.'
'Buy anything nice?'
'I may have, though wait until we get home OK, hun.'
'Sure.'
The journey home only took a few minutes. The elevator is out of order and being worked on, despite the fact that the apartment complex is still fairly new. It was not too bad though, as mother and son lived on the second floor. Their apartment is three doors down and to the right from the top of the stair case. Upon getting to the top of those stairs the boy noticed something that his mom didn't. Not far down that corridor at the top or the staircase down towards the right sat a young girl crying.
'Are you OK?' asked the boy coming up behind the girl.
She stopped crying turned and spoke one word 'hi'.
Mom opened her apartment door went inside and placed her groceries on the counter. She called for her son, but he had not followed her into the apartment. Having gone back outside the door she looked up and down the corridor but could not see her son. Down the far end of the corridor and an orange glow begins to shine. Five children soon appear out of nowhere, all holding hands and skipping around in a circle. Her son stood in the center of this circle.
Ring-a-ring- a Rosie, a pocket full of posies. A tishoo! A tishoo! We all fall down.
This was sung once as mom made her way down the corridor picking up speed as she moved though it would seem to her that she was not moving as quickly as she felt she was. By the time she got to the end of that corridor all the children had vanished, including her son, though the last to vanish was a girl no older than the woman's son and this girl smiled as she vanished. All mom could do at this point would be to drop to her knees and allow panic, shock, and grief take control.
A neighbour comes out of her apartment and doesn't even have to ask as to what is happening as the lady on her knees looks up and speaks two words.
'My son.'
'Unwanted spirit, you may be childlike, but you are still unwanted. I ask of you to leave this place, no I order you to leave this place, you do not belong here. Return to this lady her son and be gone forever.'
The neighbour goes back into her apartment and returns out into the corridor with some burning incense then in a low murmur begins to speak in prayer. Waving the incense around in the area where the boy vanished, she continues in the same manner as she had begun. The boy reappears oblivious as to what had happened.
'What the hell is going on here and how did you know what to do?' asks the mother after having embraced her son.
'Oh, I have some experience in this field' replies the neighbour.
Needless to say ... mother and son move away with the first opportunity they get, though long after they have gone there still are sightings of a little girl skipping around down a corridor and as does so the echoed reciting of a child's game continue.
Ring-a-ring- a Rosie, a pocket full of posies. A tishoo! A tishoo! We all fall down.
Can a spirit truly move on? Especially when it is one which does not understand who it is or what it is? Is evil still evil when it does not understand its own nature? Can the innocence of a child, whether dead or alive be an excuse for evil of any sort, whether that evil is intentional or not?
And when the destruction of where such a spirit resides does not affect its existence then can talking to or the ordering of such a spirit to move on, really make a difference? Can evil really exist within that innocence of a child? For what harm can really come with the want for company and the want to play a game?
