CHAPTER 5

"I can do this all day"

════════♢♧♤♡════════

Park Jisung losing a gamble to Na Jaemin.

Park Jisung...losing...to...Na Jaemin.

Why you look at that! He isn't a pigeon like we thought so.

Haechan scoffed out in disbelief, seeing Jisung kneeled on the ground, eyes darted onto his own trembling hands as the bleach-blonde haired boy grinned wickedly in victory. Arms crossed in front of his chest as he cocked an eyebrow up at the sight.

"Becoming a servant on your first day? Pathetic." Jaemin cackled causing their classmates to follow along, laughs of different kind emitting from each student's mouth and that made the younger boy feel more embarrassed than he should.

Cheeks tinted a deep red as his jaw hardened in defeat.
Don't cry. Never cry. Frustration clear in his glass-like eyes that threatened to crack with a waterfall of tears to descend soon.

Jaemin hummed profusely. The sound of the chair's feet scraping against the wooden flooring made Shotaro cringe yet frightened when Na Jaemin stood up tall, some sort of diabolic aura picked up around him. The bleach-blonde haired boy took slow strides towards the knelt boy with his face holding no emotion.

"Yah," he started in a deep tone, crouching down to ridicule the younger. He pressed a finger onto Jisung's forehead, almost like he was drilling it in with the force he used. "Park Jisung. Pay me back soon, hmm? Or else," he giggled, drawing his lips close to Jisung's ear, "you'll become a pet forever."

The whisper sent chills trickling down Jisung's spine, his head shaking. Rounding up all the courage left, he gave the older boy a strong push and Jaemin fell backward, nearly dropping on his bum if it weren't for his reflexes.

A breathy scoff left Jaemin's lips while the rest of the class stood in fear, knowing Jaemin wasn't someone to mess with, especially if you had just lost a bet to him.

"Did you just push me?"

Pfft, you just realized that now?

Haechan rolled his eyes at his 'scattered' thoughts, waiting for something exciting to happen between the two students in front of him. Shotaro, on the other hand, just wanted it to end already—whatever was happening.

"Listen here, Park. I'm pretty sure mummy and daddy won't like to hear you being a servant on your first day, being a representative of your whole clan and all." Jaemin spat, standing up straight. "So you better start working on those bills. Fifteen million Won. I'm pretty sure the Park family can compensate for you, though that would be really embarrassing."

"Considering that," he glances down at Jisung with such repugnance, "you are a representative after all."

"You are a shame to the Park family." Jaemin chuckled dryly.

"Leave the kid alone, Na."

Collective gasps were heard from the surrounding people. Shotaro reached out to yank Haechan back but he was already out of reach. Wincing, he involuntarily followed the new student, trying to pull him back. "I-I don't think this is a good idea."

"I never said it was," Haechan murmured, going back to face Jaemin.

"Ah, the famous Lee Donghyuck!"

"It's actually Haechan." The said boy corrected, snapping his fingers.

What are you doing?

Haechan bent down, grabbing onto Jisung's arm, and helped him up, an unusual sight for everyone. "You alright?"

Jisung flinched, eyes growing wide for a split second as his mouth parted to say, "W-What are you doing? Why are you helping me?"

"Well, friends got each other's back, don't they?" Haechan said though his tone was monotonous, lacking a bit of sympathy; his words still caused a little smile to creep up on the younger's face.

Jaemin cleared his throat, "Friends or not, he is and will now be a servant to me. And knowing a Lee, especially you, I thought you would be more amused than..." he scans the boy's expression, "annoyed?"

"I'm annoyed because you are annoying. Now, leave the boy alone."

"How about we settle this with a gamble?" Jaemin offered, a wide grin on his face as he gestured towards the young boy. "If I win, you and Jisung both become my pets!"

Shotaro gasped at that, grabbing onto Haechan's sleeve, "Wait—"

"Osaki," Jaemin called out. "Unless you want to become my pet again, I suggest you stay away from this."

Shotaro gnawed on his bottom lip, his tight grip onto Haechan's sleeve loosening. Gazing down in embarrassment, "S-Sorry..."

Jaemin rolled his eyes, waiting for Haechan's response. The latter only chuckled, little giggles turned into manic cackles, clapping his hands together amusingly. "Gosh, people here at Ilseong are really interesting."

Don't forget the plan, idiot. What's your next move?

Haechan nodded his head, his laughter dying down. "My next move?" He yanks Jisung back so that the younger stood behind him as if protecting him. "Well, I can't just ignore such offer, though let me tell you this, Na Jaemin."

"If I win, how about we become friends, too?"

Jaemin nearly choked on his saliva, staring wide-eyed at Haechan. "W-What?"

Exactly. What the fuck are you thinking, Lee Haechan?!

"You heard me," Haechan smirked, cocking his chin up to look down at Jaemin.

"And what makes you think that you will win? Listen, it's only if you win." Jaemin emphasized, gritting his teeth together.

Is he looking down at us?

"Are you underestimating me, Na Jaemin?"

"You're a Lee after all."

"And being a Lee makes me what?"

Jaemin smiled bitterly, "Lower than a Seo."

Haechan poked his tongue into one of his inner cheeks, his greyish-blonde bangs that were slicked up fell loose just above his mischievous eyes. "Alright, I'll gamble with you. Though after this, I want you to remember." Haechan stated, pulling a chair for himself.

He sat down, leaned forward with his elbows propped on the table; his fingers interlaced. He waited for the blonde-haired boy to sit down.

"Remember what?"

"You'll see." Haechan smiled, gesturing over to the table. "Let me see what you got, Na."
