Soft spot
A/N: Leave a like, or comment if I should do a Kidlaw Wedding?
For a brute who could crush your skull within his hand. Or set his sights on you and could kill you with a single glare. A man built like a tank, popping bones when he rolled his shoulders. And or growling low and gruff to ward off anyone. Seemed to have a soft spot. Yes. Eustass Kidd had a soft spot for one man in particular.
Law hummed softly combing his inked stained fingers through Kidd's now dry hair. He just finished taking a shower to get all the gel and oil out of his hair. Law liked it this way. It wasn't always towering over him. Or looked like a blossoming tulip. Law smiled softly as Kidd was buried into his neck. Arms wrapped around his smaller frame, and his lips kissing over Law's shoulder. Kidd was sweet when he wanted to be. If he saw a couple in the street holding hands. He too had to hold hands with Law. But better. Kidd always had to be better or greater then other couples. But when they were alone. They lied like this. Embracing each other, with kisses or just skin to skin contact. Kidd looked up to Law earning his attention. Law only smiled back softly.
"Why me?" Kidd asked.
A question that always ranked through Kidd's mind. He was ruthless, dark, cruel, and twisted. He always thought Law could do so much better then him. He wasn't some grade A medical student. Some great doctor who could save lives. Or some timid nurse who admired him from afar. Kidd was just, a brute. Always coming home with a new cut or bruise from working in the auto shop. Or curse him out occasionally because he had a bad day. Along with throwing whatever was close enough at him. But. Law stayed. Law chuckled having Kidd cock an invisible brow.
"Why you?" Law asked.
"Yeah? Why are you still here?" Kidd asked, "Why don't you run from me, or are ever scared of me, you always stand tall and are always here when I wake up the next morning."
Law chuckled once more, "You really think you can scare me away?"
"I don't intend to."
Law cupped his cheeks and kissed his forehead.
"I'll tell you why I keep staying. Only if you finally go to bed." Law said.
"Fine." Kidd gruffed.
He sighed resting on Law's inked chest. His fingers tracing over the heart before getting to Corazon.
"Do you hear that?" Law asked.
Kidd glanced up to him before listening. He could hear Law's heart beat. It was soft and always kept rhythm. Kidd shut his eyes focusing on his heart beats.
"It beats for you." Law said.
Kidd opened his eyes glancing to Law with a soft smile.
"Why is that?" Kidd asked.
"It's because, I love you." Law said.
Kidd's eyes widened with a hint of blush on his cheeks he turned away tracing his tattoo's.
"Well?" Law asked.
Kidd glanced to him once more, "Well what?"
"Did I answer your question?"
"Yeah."
"Good, now go to sleep."
Law reached over shutting off the light. Kidd still lied on Law's chest. Listening close to Law's heartbeat. His eyes shut slowly falling asleep to the soft rhythm. Law's hands found there way through his hair once more. Waiting. Once Kidd was asleep Law soon fell asleep sometime later.
But once the morning broke, Kidd fluttered open his eyes. Law's side of the bed was empty. He furrowed noticing some of the clothes were tossed around. Some of Law's scrubs, and his clothes. Did he finally choose to leave? Was last night just a dream? Kidd sat up and ruffled his hair.
"I loved you too." Kidd muttered.
He clutched the bed before growling. There was no way he was going to loose Law. He got up getting dressed, he didn't bother with his hair. So he tied it up into a bun before putting on a beanie. He glanced to his dresser. Kidd rummaged in it before pulling out a white box. He then went to his car and headed to Law's work. He parked and approached the hospital. The doors slid open as Kidd walked in. His lips pursed in a line as he stood outside of the second pair of doors. His amber eyes glancing around. Penguin and Shachi glanced to each other before back to Kidd.
"He's not gonna like this." Penguin said.
"Hey! You two!" Kidd called.
They shuddered as Kidd approached them, he knew they worked under Law. They swallowed as Kidd towered over them. His amber eyes burrowing into there soul.
"Where's Trafalgar." Kidd hissed.
"He's operating you can't see him." Penguin said.
"Get him."
They gulped as Kidd's eyes grew darker and more intimidating. They nodded before going off. They sighed in relief before looking at the operating room. They glanced back to each other.
"Rock paper scissors?" Penguin asked.
Shachi nodded as they started the game. First rock then scissors, then Penguin's paper beat Shachi's rock.
"Damn it."
Shachi headed into the operating room. He looked at Law operating on someone, his hand held out as a nurse handed him a tool. Shachi washed his hands before getting a mask and walking into the actual operating room. Law glanced to Shachi before down to the body.
"What is it?" Law asked.
"Kidd wants to see you." Shachi said.
Law glanced up to him, "Does it look like I can go see him?"
"I'm sorry sir but, I'd rather not die."
The doors pushed open as they turned to Kidd. Everyone's eyes widened as Penguin soon entered. Law grabbed a sheet and covered the body before glaring at Kidd.
"Get out of my operating room." He seethed.
"Law I need to-"
"Now!"
Kidd flinched as Shachi and Penguin pulled him out of the room and sat him down outside. Kidd pursed his lips bouncing his knee. But as three hours went by. The door opened and Law stepped out. He didn't say a word besides grabbing Kidd's arm and pulling him down into a bed. He shut the curtain and glared to Kidd.
"What the hell was so important you almost killed my patient!" Law barked.
"Why was all of your stuff tossed around? Why didn't you leave a note? Are you leaving after all this time?" Kidd barked back.
Law cocked a brow, "You didn't get my note?"
"What note?"
He rummaged into a drawer and pulled out a mirror. He handed it to Kidd before pulling up his beanie. On his forehead was a note. Written backwards so Kidd could read it fine through the mirror.
'I have five major surgeries today, so I'm bringing extra clothes and scrubs in case I have to stay over.' Law
"Oh." Kidd muttered.
Law crossed his arms, "Are you done?"
Kidd clutched his knees, "No."
"No? You almost kill my patient, get us all at risk, barge in while I'm working, and harass my underlings. And now there's more you want to say?"
Kidd growled, "Yea I know."
"Oh you know? Then what else is so god damn important?"
Kidd rummaged in his pocket and held out a white box. Law sighed taking it, he opened the lid and then pulled out the velvet box. He opened the box and his eyes widened. Inside was a black matte ring with a heartbeat yellow heart wrapped around it.
"I love you will you marry me?" Kidd said.
Law was speechless, this. This was the important thing. He smiled running his thumb over the heart. He noticed something written inside and plucked the ring out of the box.
'Corazon.'
Law bit his lip and looked up to Kidd. A hint of blush was on his cheeks.
"He helped me pick it out." Kidd said.
Now at this point a tear slid down Law's cheek. He sniffled looking at the ring. He slid it on before embracing Kidd.
"I will." Law muttered.
Kidd smiled embracing him back. The curtain pulled back, having them turn to the other doctors and nurses. They clapped softly as Law wiped away his tear.
"Don't think I'm not still mad at you for entering my operating room." Law prodded his chest.
"Oh yeah, you look furious." Kidd said.
Law flicked his forehead, earning a soft grunt. Law glanced to the nurses and waved them off. They giggled leaving them alone for some privacy. Law kissed Kidd softly. Kidd pulled him closer as the kiss grew heated with tongue and clashing of teeth. Law pulled back before they both could get carried away.
"Come back around dinner time. I could use the company." Law hummed.
Kidd gleamed, "Alright."
