Little Bird

The tavern creaked open as Rayleigh stepped inside. Shakky perked up from the paper to her husband who took a seat before her.

"Welcome back dear." She spoke, "Did everything go well?"

"Yeah. Pretty good. I did a little gambling but hey. I didn't lose anything this time."

She hummed folding the paper and began to prepare something for him.

"Oh, Rayleigh. While you were gone a little bird came in and was looking for you." She said.

Rayleigh hummed, "Oh? Do tell."

"This. Little bird was wondering if you thought about his idea. Do you know what I'm talking about?"

"By chance did you catch the color of the bird?"

She giggled placing a tankard in front of him.

"Oh, yes. This little bird lost a wing and was the color red."

"Figures he would be here."

Then tossed back his tankard. Slamming it on the counter.

"Rayleigh what was he talking about? Is there something I should know?" She asked.

"Ah. It's nothing dear. Don't worry about it."

"I'm your wife. I'll find out one way or another." She huffed.

"Fine, fine. Well before I met you I had a small. Fling. With Shanks. And when we got separated things were just left hanging. Once we met up again he wanted to. Start again. I said I would talk to you about it-"

"Then go."

Rayleigh furrowed, "Shakky, I'm with you."

She giggled and patted his hand, "Sooner or later you will grow tired of me. Why not have a friends with benefits kind of thing. Besides I've had my eye on a little woman at the jewelers market."

"Shakky you don't have to do this just cause-"

"Cause Shanks asked for it?"

She smiled placing a hand to his cheek. He sighed resting in her palm. Her thumb brushed his cheek.

"Rayleigh. I know." She said.

He looked up at her with a cocked brow.

"I know you love him. You always seem to light up when you see him in the paper. And keep his bounty poster in your coat pocket. I know Rayleigh."

"You caught me." He sighed.

"Now go to him. He misses you. Just like you miss him."

Rayleigh smirked cupping her cheeks and kissed her softly. He smiled and then soon left. Shakky smiled.

As a week went by Rayleigh had met Shanks at sea. By swimming of course.

"Captain theres a, man swimming towards us." Yassop said.

Shanks snickered, "Yassop you sure? No one can swim from an island to a sailing ship."

"Your right. He's not just anyone." Yasopp said lowering his eyescope, "Its Rayleigh."

"Rayleigh?"

He lit up a moment before bolting to the railing. He grinned as Rayleigh pulled himself up onto the netting of his ship. Shanks held his hand out helping the elder onto his ship. Rayleigh flopped to the deck panting softly. Shanks knelt before him and smirked.

"How about a drink?" Shanks smirked.

Rayleigh grabbed his white button up and kissed him roughly before letting go. Shanks stumbled back slightly shocked. But grinned from ear to ear.

"I told you I was going to talk to Shakky." Rayleigh sighed.

Shanks blinked, "About what?"

"Our agreement."

"Oh, I didn't talk to her about that. I came to just check up on you. Making sure you hadn't died or anything."

Rayleigh smacked him over the head. Shanks grumbled rubbing his head while Rayleigh chuckled softly.

"She knew. God that woman."

Rayleigh staggered up dripping wet.

"I'll have that drink now."

No one has come to stop me. So I ain't stopping.
