Best Friends Brother
A/N: Please read. So, next weekend, I won't be posting much or anything at all. Depends on time and all. The reason why is, I'm going to a con. Sakura con here in Seattle Washington. Yes yes, now you know where I live. If any of you are going I hope to see you there. I'm going as Fox Sanji and Female Luffy. I will try to update maybe on the way there or when I'm there. But no promises. If you want to keep updated with me, you can follow me on Snapchat or Instagram at iciclesthecat. Oh and I recently made a This Crush account with the same username. But okay I'm done talking.
(Acesan)
Sanji sat by the phone, on the couch just staring at the old fashioned phone with the wheel and the cord. He reached out and placed the phone to his ear, a soft buzz called back. Sanji sighed and hung up the phone.
"Zoro's not going to call you back you know." Nami said.
Sanji groaned and rolled over remembering the one night stand he had three weeks ago.
"Sanji, you should come to Luffys party tonight." Nami said.
She walked over and sat behind Sanji's knees. He just stared at the white cushion, his blue eye was more like a gray color of disappointment. Sanji really liked Zoro, they hit it off well with stupid come backs and one to many drinks. It was the best night of Sanji's life. But when the morning came, Zoro took Sanji's number and along with his heart. Sanji waited days then it's became weeks. Now it's been almost a month. Nami came over to check up on him but he still remained the same.
"Please Sanji for me? It would mean allot to me if you could come. Your friends miss you." Nami said.
Sanji turned to her and sighed getting off the couch and going upstairs. Even when Sanji is still heartbroken, he still listens to her. Nami picked up the phone and called Luffy.
"SANJI?! HOW ARE YOU?!" Luffy cried into the phone.
"Luffy it's me, I wanted to tell you that Sanji's coming to your party tonight and don't talk about," she looked at the stairs and covered the receiver, "don't talk about Zoro. You understand me?" Nami whispered.
"Oh okay got it." Luffy whispered back.
"You don't have to whisper back he can't hear you like he can hear me."
"I can't wait to see you guys! Bye."
Luffy laughed before hanging up. Nami hung up as well, when Sanji walked down the stairs adjusting his tie.
"Wow Sanji you look good as new." She smiled.
Sanji smiled a little, putting his box of cigarettes in his coat pocket. Nami got up and hugged him.
"I'm glad you can come." She said.
Little did Sanji know she had a plan. As she slowly slipped the lighter from his pocket to the table next to him. Then they both left going to Luffys house in Nami's car. Outside was a bunch of cars and the place was loud and thumping. Nami parked and they both got out.
"I will be in after my cigarette." Sanji said pulling out the box.
"Alright sounds good." She smiled.
Sanji sat on the curb patting the box and then pulling out a cigarette. He patted around for his lighter but seemed not to find it.
"Damn it, I thought I packed it." Sanji groaned.
"You okay?" A voice asked.
Sanji jumped holding his chest and turned to the chocolate eyed man. His face was handsome with a sprinkle of freckles across his grin. His hair was long and it suited him.
"Ace you scared me." Sanji gasped.
He chuckled, "Sorry, you looking for something?"
"Yeah, I guess I accidentally left my lighter at home. Do you know if Luffy has one?"
Ace smiled shuffling through his pocket and handing him a poker lighter of Ace of Spades.
"You can borrow mine." He said.
Sanji smiled taking the lighter, "Thank you."
Ace smiled back, "I'll be inside, you can give it to me then."
He walked off back inside the house, Sanji watched him until the door shut behind him. His attention was brought back to the cheap lighter with the card on it. Sanji flicked the lid off and lit his cigarette. Sanji sat clutching the lighter. Brushing over the divots shaping the playing card with his thumb. When Sanji was finished he stomped the remaining life out of the tobacco and went inside. It was loud, and wreaked of alcohol. Someone spiked the punch probably, Ace was chatting away with some friends. Sanji smiled walking over to him Sanji tapped his shoulder. Ace turned to him and smiled. Sanji handed back his lighter.
"Thank you." Sanji said loudly.
Ace took it and put it in his pocket, "Sanji! These are my brothers Marco and Thatch."
Sanji turned to the men and shook there hands.
"This is Luffys cook Sanji." Ace shouted.
"SANJI?!" Luffy cried.
Sanji took his attention to the boy running up to him at full speed and knocking him into Ace and into the next table. The table flipped over knocking over all the food and punch. The music stopped and Sanji opened his eyes. Ace was above him protecting him of the spillage of the food and drinks. Ace got up and held out his hand. He was soaked in stains and different smells.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
Sanji chuckled as a piece of food fell off his head. He took Aces hand and he helped him up. The party returned as Luffy clung himself to Sanji.
"Why did you do that for me?" Sanji asked.
"Your wearing a nice suit I didn't want you to have to pay for my little brothers mistakes." Ace chuckled.
"Ace you can use my bathroom to wash up." Luffy said.
Ace smiled ruffling his brothers hair and walked upstairs and took a left.
"Sanji! I missed you! How are you, heard from Zoro yet?" Luffy asked.
Sanji's smile faded and looked to Luffy.
"I've been better." Sanji pushed Luffy off and went to the kitchen.
He sat down at the dining table and pushed around a lone grape.
"Sanji, if it will make you feel better you can help make snacks?" Nami said.
Sanji looked up to her, "Yeah cooking will get my mind off things."
He got up and gathered his ingredients, then pulling on an apron. Nami watched as Sanji was totally focused on cooking. She smiled, he was going back to normal. And her plan was working better then expected.
"Nami I hope you don't mind, but could you fix the table? I don't have time to fix it on my own." Sanji asked.
Nami nodded and went back out to the living room and fixed the table and cleaning up what was left of the scraps. She pulled off the wet table clothe and put on a new one. Luffy was sent flying across the living room into the nearest wall. Nami smiled to have Sanji being his close to normal self again. Sanji came out a moment later with a few trays of food and set them on the table. Sanji opened a few bags of chips and poured them into a bowl. He went back to the kitchen and stirred some of his dipping sauce. Sanji poured it into a bowl.
"Something smells good."
Sanji looked up to Ace drying his hair with a towel.
"You want to try some of my dip?" Sanji asked.
Ace walked over and was about to dip his finger in it but Sanji batted his hand away.
"Use a spoon." Sanji huffed.
Ace smiled pulling out a spoon and taking some. He took a small mouthful and tasted the fair amount, it was heaven. The spice was creamed over with cheese and had a nice little kick to it. But, something was missing.
"Well how do you like it?" Sanji asked.
"It's missing something." Ace said.
He held out the spoon and Sanji took some and tasted it himself. He put thought into the missing flavor. Before snapping his fingers and searching the fridge. Pulling some lemon juice and dropping a few drops. Stirring it and smiled to his work.
"If you want more it will be on the table." Sanji smiled picking up the bowl.
He walked out of the kitchen having Ace's eyes glued to him. Those legs just kept going on forever. Sanji had a nice walk, it was very steady and had a strut to it.
"Damn." Ace muttered.
He shook off some of the water and joined the party. It was really late and a lot of people were asleep on the couch.
"Sanji-kun?!" Nami called.
Sanji looked up from cleaning up the kitchen to Nami.
"It's about time for us to head home." Nami said.
"Ah alright, just give me a moment." Sanji said.
Nami nodded and sat down at the dinning table.
"So, how did you like the party?"
Sanji placed the last fork in the silverware drawer.
"It was well. I had allot of fun. Thank you for convincing me to go." Sanji said.
Nami smiled and got up leaning against the counter.
"So, how do you feel about, Ace?" Nami asked.
Sanji froze, his breath hitched. Nami smirked at his reaction.
"You both were close during the party, did things go. Well?" Nami asked.
"I-I I'm finished here why don't you take me home now." Sanji said.
"Sanji is there something your not telling me?" Nami asked.
Sanji turned and walked out of the kitchen and up to the door. He opened it but a hand slammed it closed. Sanji turned to Ace panting, like he ran.
"Leaving so soon?" Ace asked.
Sanji nodded, "I have to work tomorrow, and it's getting late."
Ace had a sad look on his face.
"Oh well, when can I see you again?" Ace asked.
Sanji blushed, Ace wanted to see him again? But why?
"I uh, I gotta go." Sanji said.
He opened the door and rushed out. Getting up to Nami's car and looking back to the door. Nami was talking to Ace he smiled as she walked by. He gave a small wave to Sanji and Sanji turned away hiding a smile. He got in the car and buckled in as Nami did the same.
"I think he likes you." Nami smiled putting the key in the car.
The car came to a roaring start and Sanji smiled leaning against the window.
"Yeah, I think he does too." Sanji said.
"Do you like him back?" Nami asked.
Sanji shrugged, "I don't know yet."
"Ooo Sanji you got a crush?"
Sanji groaned, "Just drive."
Nami smiled and drove out of the driveway, she tried to get more out of Sanji but he seemed to fall asleep in the car on the way back home. Sanji didn't live very far from Luffy's. Like maybe a few blocks away. Nami pulled up to his house.
"Okay Sanji, here you go." Nami said.
No response, Sanji was fast asleep. She nudged him, nothing.
"Sanji?" She asked, "You didn't sleep much the past three weeks did you?"
She had gotten an idea, she crept out of the car and closed it softly. She leaned against her car and dialed up Luffy. She knew that Luffy was asleep. The phone picked up.
"Nami?" Ace asked.
"Ace can you do me a favor?" Nami asked.
She explained the situation and Ace was willing to come over. Nami smiled ending the call and crossing her arms. About ten or so minutes Ace had road over on his skateboard. Kicking up the board and putting it under his arm.
"He's in the car." Nami said.
Ace looked in seeing Sanji asleep in the passenger seat. He smiled putting his board on the grass and opening the door. Ace unbuckled the blonde and wrapped his arms around his neck. Ace scooped up Sanji and pulled him out of the car. He turned to Nami who was unlocking the door. Ace walked up to her and Sanji wrapped his arms tighter around Ace and smiled into his chest.
"Upstairs and to the left." Nami said.
Ace nodded and proceeded into the house going up the stairs and into the room. The room was neat and had a large bed for such a thin man. Ace walked in setting Sanji on the bed. He pulled off his shoes and set them aside.
"Thank you Ace." Nami said.
Ace smiled, "Yeah anytime."
Ace left Sanji with Nami to downstairs. Sanji had a classy house, fashion at its finest. There was not a spot in his house where it wasn't vintage or had class.
"So Ace, when you gonna ask him?" Nami asked.
He shrugged, "Probably when I see him again."
Nami smiled and patted his back, "You know he works at the Baratie? You can meet him there for lunch. He has a break around 1."
Ace smiled to her idea and they both left. Sanji woke up the next morning in his bed, he sat up and yawned. That was the best sleep he had in weeks. Sanji got dressed and got ready for work. He used his vacation days to wait by a phone. Zeff was happy to have him take up the offer and left the boy alone. He would call and check up but Sanji would tell him he was waiting got an important phone call then hang up. But Sanji never got that phone call. He drove up to work and got out of the car. Looking up at the restaurant and smiled, he pulled on his hat going inside. The cooks looked at him like he was back from the dead. But Sanji just ignored there looks and started cooking. The kitchen was alive again with Sanji cooking. Zeff came in noticing that his son was hard at work.
"Well it was nice while it lasted." Zeff sighed.
He walked over to Sanji and put him in a head lock.
"Welcome back eggplant." Zeff said.
Sanji clawed at his father's arm, "Let go of me you old geaser."
"Come on boy, that can't be all you got."
"Lemme go! I got work to do!"
Zeff chuckled letting go of Sanji and patting his back.
"Good to have you back son." Zeff said and ruffled his hat.
Sanji smiled, "Sorry, I never got that phone call."
Zeff smiled walking out of the kitchen into his office. Ace sat fiddling with the tassel off his hat. He got up as the door opened and Zeff walked in. He looked at the muscular man without a shirt on. Ace taken off his hat and gulped.
"Are you Sanji's father?" Ace asked.
Zeff looked over his shoulder to Sanji cooking in the back. He shut the door and proceeded to walk to his desk. Ace noticed his missing leg and a peg leg that took its place.
"And you are?" Zeff asked.
"I'm Portgas D. Ace, I'm Luffy's older brother." Ace said.
"Luffy huh? At least he was wearing a shirt when I met him."
Ace chuckled out of embarrassment.
"And you are speaking to me about?"
Ace sat down setting his hat in his lap, "I'd like your permission to, uh, ask your son out."
Zeff rested back in his chair, lacing his fingers together and setting them on his lap.
"You have some confidence don't you boy?"
"I've liked your son for some time now, since I met him at one of my brothers parties."
"Wait."
Zeff leaned against his desk looking at the freckled faced man.
"Do I know you from somewhere?" Zeff asked, "Your face looks familiar."
Ace shrugged, "Sorry sir, this is the first time I've ever met you."
The door opened and Zeff turned his attention to Sanji.
"I'm going out for a smoke." Sanji said.
Ace filched putting his finger to his lips. Zeff's eyes flicked to Ace then back to Sanji. Sanji's eyes stared at the back of Aces head.
"Go on, I'm having a business meeting." Zeff said.
Sanji nodded and left shutting the door behind him.
"I assume Sanji has no clue your here. Or even asking for my permission."
"No sir." Ace said.
Zeff smiled and stood up, he held out his hand.
"From what I can tell, you have my permission."
Ace stood up and shook his hand, "Thank you sir, it means the world to me."
"Zeff, please if you need anything." Zeff handed him a card, "Anything at all, don't be afraid to call."
Ace smile taking the card, "Thanks Zeff it means allot."
Zeff chuckled as he watched Ace leave, he kicked his feet up on the desk looking at a picture of him and Sanji.
"It's your time Eggplant."
Outside Ace put on his hat and shut the door. He was about to walk out of the kitchen when Sanji grabbed his belt.
"And where do you think your going?" Sanji asked.
Ace froze, shit, that's it he's dead.
"What did the old geaser want with you?" Sanji asked.
"It, I, he um." Ace tried to figure out what to tell him.
Sanji let go of his belt and stood in front of him.
"Ace, why are you here?" Sanji asked.
Shit. Shit. Shit.
"I uh, I was here to uh."
A hand was placed on Aces shoulder, "The boy was here to apologize for the damage that his kid brother had done to our restaurant and pay for the rest of the damages."
Sanji blinked, "But we had those paid off years ago."
"That's why he's leaving."
And Zeff pushed Ace out of the kitchen. Ace sighed walking out of the restaurant and out down the street.
"He wasn't here for paying for Luffy was he?" Sanji asked.
"Nope." Zeff chuckled walking back into his office.
Sanji pursed his lips and went out to take his smoke break. He sat on the back step puffing smoke out like a train. What could of Ace came to ask Zeff.
"Hey Sanji!"
Sanji turned to Luffy skipping up to him.
"Did Ace ask you yet?" Luffy asked.
"Ask me what?" Sanji asked.
Luffy sucked in his lips, "Nothing."
"Luffy."
"Have you seen him? I need him."
"He left the restaurant a little bit ago."
"Luffy! There you are I was looking for-"
Ace noticed Sanji. Shit. Sanji got up and walked up to him. Ace was then pinned between Sanji and a wall. His blue eyes searched in Aces chocolate ones. Sanji took the cigarette from his lips blowing the smoke to the side.
"Luffy said you were supposed to ask me something?" Sanji asked.
"Luffy!" Ace spat.
He shrugged, "I thought you told him."
"Ace what's going on?" Sanji asked.
Ace sighed, "Sanji, the reason why I came to talk to your dad is. I was asking him if he would be okay if I could. Ask you out and take you out to nice places and all. I've liked you since the first time I met you. I just thought we had a lot of fun yesterday and maybe you wanted to go out sometime with me. But I understand if you don't."
He rubbed the back of his neck as Sanji's blue eye stared into his own. He didn't respond and Aces hope was dying.
"Come on Luffy, let's go." Ace said.
Ace snuck by Sanji, but he was stopped when Sanji grabbed his wrist. Ace turned to Sanji who had tears in his eyes.
"You asked my dad to date me?" Sanji sniffled.
Ace nodded, "I just thought it was the right thing to do."
Sanji smiled grabbing Aces cheeks and kissing him. Ace smiled back in the kiss, they pulled back. Ace wiped the tears out of Sanji's eyes.
"That's the sweetest thing someone has ever done for me." Sanji said.
"So, is that a yes?" Ace asked.
Sanji nodded and kissed him.
