Putting the World on Notice
WrestleMania XL, Philadelphia
The Showcase of the Immortals is well on the way, as this is Night 2 of the two-night event. Night 1 saw the main event of brother versus brother match as Jey Uso took on Jimmy. Earlier tonight, Damian Priest cashed in on Seth Rollins after his hellacious bout with other Judgment Day member Finn Bálor and stole the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. That all brings us to now.
Currently, the Final Testament is squaring off against Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits. The match is a rather good one with lots of weapons being used, a few goofy throwbacks, and B-Fab and Scarlett Bordeaux occasionally neutralizing one another.
The AOP both have Dawkins and Ford hoisted up in the powerbomb position. Then, they run the two teammates spines into the other before spiking them down on the mat with huge powerbombs. The Philly crowd and many of the wrestlers cringe at the bump knowing it had to hurt. Unfortunately for some in the back, they know from experience that it does. The AOP and Karrion Kross swarm a downed Bobby Lashley, practically licking their lips with anticipation. Victory is so close they can taste it! Scarlett leans on the apron in anticipation, ready for her team to finish the match when...

The crowd goes berserk as the theme fills the arena. Karrion and the AOP look for them while Scarlett's eyes go wide. The cameras pan all around, searching for the invaders.
Michael Cole: Is that!? Where are they!?!
As if to answer Cole's question, the camera finds the Kentucky Killer Cody Keltner standing amongst the crowd, spinning a kendo stick around nonchalantly. He turns his head to face the ring and holds the kendo stick across his shoulder.
Pat McAfee: Killer Cody Keltner is here!!
Corey Graves: And he's not alone, Pat!
He says as the camera pans to the other side of the arena. Closer to the ramp and standing in the crowd is the Last Great Scot Duncan McIntyre. He stretches his neck a couple times and glares through his messy wet hair, which hangs carelessly in front of his face.
Michael Cole: That's Duncan McIntyre!!
Corey Graves: The Last Great Scot has arrived! But where is-
Michael Cole: There he is! He's here!
A long-haired Samoan stands at the top of a set of stairs. He rolls his shoulders and rocks his head from side to side a couple of times, then slowly looks out at the Philly fans. The Samoan Juggernaut Ronin Romulus nods his head and the other two follow.
Michael Cole: The Head of the Tribunal is here at WrestleMania!!
Scarlett looks around wildly, her eyes landing on each of the three men. The three men climb over the barricade and stalk over to the ring. Scarlett watches as the Legion Leader walks by her, staring up at him as he walks past. Her breathing noticeably picks up as he walks by her. His eyes wander over her for a moment before he turns his attention back to the men in the ring and walks over to his chosen side.
He and Duncan climb onto the apron on opposite sides of the ring, with Duncan's back being towards the ramp and Ronin's to the announce team. Meanwhile Cody stays standing outside of the ring, relaxing his head his kendo stick and holding it with his arms across his neck and shoulders.
Karrion and the Authors of Pain try to bait the Tribunal into the ring. The Hounds of Hell don't move, standing completely still. Then, Cody switches positions with the kendo stick, holding it to his side, and tests the water by attempting to slide in. Akam goes to stomp on him, but Keltner already backed away by the time he reaches him. With that slight distraction, the Head of the Tribunal and the Last Great Scot surge into the ring, taking on Kross and Rezar respectively.
The sudden attack causes Akam to do the one thing no one should ever do: turn his back to Cody Keltner. The Kentucky Killer takes full advantage, hopping up onto the apron and clambering between the ropes before horizontally striking one half of the AOP with the kendo stick across the lower back. He unleashes a flurry of kendo strikes with insane speeds while Duncan clobbers Rezar to the ground with heavy overhead strikes. Ronin traps Karrion in the corner and hits him with a barrage of clotheslines.
Karrion ducks under the last one and runs to the ropes. He comes back and goes for a clothesline, but Ronin ducks under it. Romulus hits the ropes, then sprints back. The Big Dog leaps into the air and takes Karrion down with a huge flying clothesline.
After letting out a loud roar, Romulus turns his attention to the only opponent left standing. Duncan holds Rezar as Cody and Ronin circle, the Buckwild Boy from Kentucky twirling his splintering kendo stick around as he does. McIntyre holds Rezar open and Keltner steps up first, swatting the Final Testament member in the gut with a good hit. Then, Ronin follows with a heavy boot in the same spot. The two repeat the process until Cody gets a little overzealous. Ronin backs off as his crazed comrade swats Rezar across the stomach until the kendo stick explodes.
Ronin gestures with his to hoist Rezar up and the boys nod. Duncan slides over to one side, allowing Cody to slide in to the other, and they both hoist him up while Ronin lets out a load tribal roar. The Head of the Tribunal holds Rezar in the powerbomb position. Together, they hit Rezar with a Triple Powerbomb aka the Cerberus Bite.
They look around, but they aren't done. Almost immediately, they do the same thing to Akam and then to Karrion. By now, rhetorical Street Profits and Bobby Lashley are up. They clutch their injured limbs, on in Lashley's case his ribs, and stand across from the Tribunal. Ronin slowly turns around to face Bobby and looks at him. Scarlett and B-Fab look back and forth between the men as Bobby reaches a hand out, one hoping for a union between the teams and the other begging for anything else. Ronin looks down at the Almighty's hand, then back at his face.
It looks as though Scarlett is the one who'll be getting her wish as Ronin turns back around and starts walking away from Lashley. The crowd goes silent, then erupts as Ronin turns back around and hits Lashley with a Superman Punch.
The punch rocks Lashley and surprises the Street Profits. Angelo and Montez step up to help, but are immediately taken care of by a Future Shock DDT from McIntyre and a Death Roll from Keltner respectively.
With the Profits down, Lashley is the only one left standing. That is until Romulus puts him down with a huge Spear.
All the men are down. Before the Tribunal can get involved any further, the special guest referee Bubba Ray Dudley steps up to them. He shoves Ronin by the chest, causing the Big Dog to look down at his chest, then back at Bubba Ray. Within the blink of an eye, Dudley's knocked loopy with a Mark of the Blade from Cody, only to be finished off with a Claymore from Duncan.
The ECW legend rolls to the outside. He stumbles onto his feet, but soon realizes that was a mistake. Ronin and the rest of the Tribunal stalk towards him. Scarlett is next to the whole ordeal and is still breathing heavy as the three men walk past. Ronin walks closer to her. She walks backwards, neither of them saying anything. Then, Ronin unexpectedly turns to face Duncan and Cody, who are on either side of Bubba Ray. Ronin signals for the Cerberus Bite with a loud roar. Then, the three men put the ECW legend Bubba Ray Dudley through the announce table.
With that, they end their attack and go back through the crowd. The whole walk back, Scarlett's eyes never leave them. From behind her, she hears three pats on the mat and the bell ring. During the Cerberus Bite through the table, Lashley had dragged himself over to Karrion and draped his arm across his body, and a new referee had entered the ring and made the count.
Samantha Irvin: Here are your winners: Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits!!!
Scarlett looks at the ring, then back up in the crowd where the Tribunal is standing at the top of a large flight of stairs. Ronin's mask hides his emotions, but thanks to the camera focusing on them, everyone can see Cody laughing a little and Duncan smirking sinisterly. Meanwhile, Ronin just grabs the top of his vest and holds it in his fists, making him look like a long-haired Samoan version of Tom Hardy's Bane.
Backstage
Scarlett's POV
I walk backstage with Kevin (Karrion Kross), who immediately leaves my side to go hug the now-unmasked Ronin guy. The two laugh as they talk to each other, but I have no idea what they're saying. I walk past them and smile, telling everyone "good match" as I walk by.
Caleb's POV
I smile as we separate and watch as the girl Kevin works with...uhhhh...Scarlett! That's her name! Anyway, I watch as she walks by, then turn back to my old friend, playfully bouncing my mask in one hand.
Kevin: Not bad, right?
Me: What?
I say, putting my hands on my hips and raising an eyebrow. Cody and Blake come up next to us with smiles on their faces.
Blake: We all saw you checkin' her out, man.
Me: Hang on, aren't you two married?
Kevin: Kayfabe. We're just good friends.
Me: Gotcha.
Blake: Now answer the question.
I look around to check if there's anyone nearby. Then, I look at Kevin, Cody, and Blake.
Me, smirking: Definitely not bad.
We all laugh and continue to talk about random shit as we leave the gorilla and
Scarlett's POV
I get to the girls' locker room and enter to see Rebecca Quin (Becky Lynch), Carla Gonzalez (Roxanne Perez), Brandi Runnels (Brandi Rhodes), and a few others all sitting around and talking.
Becky: Good job, Elizabeth.
She says patting me on the back. For those that don't know, my name isn't Scarlett. It's Elizabeth Chihaia. Anyway, I walk over to my bag and sit down.
Becky: First time with the Tribunal, huh?
Me: Y-Yeah.
I say, still shaking a little. No one, and I mean NO ONE, told me they were going to attack during the match. Not even Kevin!
Brandi: No one told you?
Me: Nope...no, they didn't.
I must be visibly shaking because Becky puts a comforting hand on my shoulder and Brandi gives me the same look a mom would give a scared child.
Brandi: Those guys can be intense. Is this the first time you're meeting them?
I nod a few times, staring out into space. Becky, Carla, and Brandi offer understanding looks in response.
Becky: I've met them a couple of times. Hard to be around.
Me: Really?
Becky: Yeah. Other than being intimidating, they're fookin' hot! The big one...mmmmm, he could make me Becky 2 Babies if he plays his cards right.
We all laugh at that, Carla and Brandi shoving her playfully while laughing. Becky hasn't had much luck in the men's department. She and Colby (Seth Rollins) went out two or three times, but neither really felt anything.
Carla: I dunno, I prefer the crazy one.
Becky: The kendo carrier!? He does it for you?
Carla: Yeah!
She says matter-of-factly. Then, she proceeds to list out why he does it for her.
Carla: Fellow Southerner, the hair, the bod, the tatts. He's got it all. I heard he could sing too, so that's always a plus.
Brandi: If tatts are such a turn-on, why didn't you say the one with the most tattoos? He's also from the South, has the hair, the bod, and the tatts.
Carla, shrugging: I don't know. He's good, but I like the Kentucky Killer more.
Me: Have you ever talked to him?
Carla: Nope. One day I will.
Becky: Seriously? You've never talked to them!?
Carla and I shake our heads. Becky looks between us and starts pacing.
Becky, pointing at me: You, I get, this is your first encounter...
She turns her attention to Carla.
Becky: But you!? You two were in NXT together!
She throws her arms up in exasperation, then puts her hands on her hips and shakes her head. Becky bites her lip and looks at the ground, then looks back up at us.
Becky: Uh-uh. No way. It's WrestleMania. We're gonna go talk to those boys. Come on!
She says grabbing my hand and practically dragging me out of my seat. I try to stop her by pulling back.
Me: Becks! Stop, I'm not even changed yet!
She stops and lets go, then turns to face me. The Lasskicker looks at me dumbfounded and speaks.
Becky: Then throw t-shirt and some sweatpants on! You dressed all revealing in front of thousands of people, but doing it in front of a Scotsman, a Samoan, and a Kentucky boy is too much all of a sudden.
She says sarcastically. I shake my head and get changed out of my WrestleMania gear. A shame, really. I really like this gear. Anyway, I change out of my gear and throw on my Performance Center t-shirt and a pair of black leggings, then follow Becky and Carla.
Becky: You coming?
Brandi: Nah, I gotta go see Cody. He's getting ready for his match against Randy.
With that, we go our separate ways. Carla and I follow Becky to go meet the guys while Brandi goes down the opposite hall. We walk for a minute and for a split second, I can see him.
Caleb's POV
We're all gathered around in a hall, watching Mania on a monitor nearby. At least we were until a loud voice caught our attention. Someone's asking where we are and I see Bianca point over to us. Then, the three people asking for us come around the corner. It's Becky, Roxanne (I think), and...Scarlett! Man, I gotta get better with names.
Becks: Oi! Where the hell do you think you fuckers are goin'?
Judging by the looks on her friends' faces, I'm assuming they think her saying that'll get 'em in trouble. Deciding to tease them, Cody and Blake step up. I stand up straight and walk away from the wall I was leaning on, then stand between my brothers-in-arms.
Blake: What'd ya say, lass?
We all have a stare down with the Man, who puts her hands on her hips. Then, she smiles which makes all of us smile. She walks over to me and I give her a one arm hug, then she goes over to Blake.
Becks: I said where'd you fuckers think you were goin'. You don't get to go to WrestleMania without getting at least a fist bump from the Man.
She says with a laugh. I move some hair outta my face and smile.
Blake: Sorry you lost. If you'd won, I would've asked for your number.
Becks: A joker, huh? If you'd had a match, I would've given it to you.
She jokes back. Blake's grin turns into a smile. I know that look. That bastard's smitten now. I look away from them two, which I feel like I'm going to need to start getting used to, to find the other two girls looking at me and Cody. The Roxanne lady gives Cody a small finger wave and an awkward smile.
Carla: Hi, Cody. I'm Carla.
Carla? I thought her name was-...never mind. Cody looks at her and smiles, nodding in response. He gives her a quick wave, then starts stretching his arms.
Me: Don't worry about him. His arms are just sore from swinging the kendo stick. He's also got headphones in.
I say pointing at the small objects in his ears. Cody turns to look at me, so I look back at him and smile. I give him a nod and a thumbs up, then turn to look back at the two women. The Scarlett chick walks closer to me, her hips swaying a bit while a smirk crosses her lips.
Me: 'Sup, Smokeshow?
She giggles, a faint trace of red crossing her face beneath her makeup. Wonder if she actually needs makeup on? I mean I've seen Becks and Lexi (Alexa Bliss) and them without makeup on and they look fine, but you never know. Maybe it's worth finding out.
Scarlett: Hey, Big Dog. I'm Elizabeth.
She holds a hand out for me to shake and I smile, reaching out and shaking her head. She's got a good grip for such a slender hand. Is slender the right word? I don't really know, I don't really care.
Me: Name's Caleb. You can call me that, Ro', or Samo. That's what everybody else calls me.
Elizabeth: Nice to meet you.
Me: Not as nice as meetin' you, Smokeshow.
I say with a small smirk. She giggles a little again while we let go of each other's hands. Elizabeth looks at me with a smirk of her own.
Me, scratching my head: Sorry, I get kinda flirty when I'm uncomfortable.
Elizabeth: I make you uncomfortable?
Me: People make me uncomfortable.
Elizabeth, smiling: You might've chosen the wrong profession then.
Me, laughing: No, it's not like that. Performing and stuff is fine. It's one-on-one conversations or groups of people. They can overwhelm me...especially if they're pretty.
Elizabeth: You're flirting again.
Me: Yeah, but that time it was on purpose.
Elizabeth: So you think I'm pretty?
Me: Doesn't everybody, Smokeshow?
Elizabeth: People find me attractive, but pretty's not usually the word that gets used.
Me, shrugging: As long as the shoe fits, right?
Blake's POV
I've known Becks for a while now. As in we came up through everything in wrestling together. Training, NXT, main roster, titles. Stuff like that.
Becks: You know those two were afraid to meet you guys?
Me: Really? Why?
Becks: You lot are intimidating. All over 6' and poor Elizabeth had no idea you guys were attacking.
Me: Who?
Becks, rolling her eyes: Scarlett.
Me: Oh. That fear was genuine?
I ask, completely shocked by this. I run my hand through my hair and shake my head.
Me: They said they wanted her shock to be genuine. Didn't think we'd scare her like that.
Becks: Think about it, lug. How would you feel if you were out there, occasionally taking some bumps while accompanying your work spouse to the ring, and three idiots in black jump everyone involved in the match, including the special guest ref?
Me: She thought she was next?
Becks: I guess so.
Me, nodding: I'll tell Caleb. He'll get a kick out of it, but he'll also start warning her about spots.
Becks: Thank you. And hey...
I turn my attention from the four peoples talking back to her. She looks up at me with a smirk and those damn eyes. Fuckin' beautiful eyes. The rest of her's beautiful too, some parts more than others, but her eyes really hold your attention when you talk to her.
Becks: You still owe me breakfast.
She says with a wink. I chuckle lightly, then we both turn our attention to the others. We make sly comments and jokes the whole time.
Becks: What do you think Caleb's saying?
I puff my chest, lean back, put my hands on the front of my jacket, then do my best impression of him.
Me: Sorry for flirting. Happens when I'm nervous.
The Lasskicker laughs, then changes her stance to mimic Elizabeth's. She has her hip sticking out and her arms across her chest. Then, she does her best impression of Elizabeth, which frankly isn't that great. My Caleb impression isn't the best by any means, but if you ask him, he'll tell you it's pretty damn close.
Becks: It's okay. People try to flirt with me all the time, but it just comes off creepy.
Me: At least you don't get groped every night. Had this one chick I like to call the butt cheek bandit. Grabbed my ass and squeezed one night while I was walking down to the ring.
Becks: You think that's bad? On the indies and in TNA, I used to have a bunch of intergender matches. The guys there were begging me to do moves like the stink face.
Me: Damn, that sucks.
Becks: Ever wrestled a woman?
Me: Not to my knowledge.
Becks: Would you like to?
Scarlett's POV
Caleb: You know we can hear you, right?
Becky and Blake both stop laughing. They look at us, their eyes wide. Blake is the first to recover, quickly smiling.
Blake: We were accurate, weren't we?
Caleb: More accurate than I'll give you credit for. Also, you need to relax more when you impersonate me. I'm not a hick with a beergut shouting about NASCAR.
Blake: Fair enough. I would've impersonated Cody, but he hasn't really said a word yet.
Cody reaches a hand towards Blake and shoots him the bird, his attention not leaving Carla. He waves his other hand, silently telling her to continue whatever story she was telling him. For a guy who hasn't said a whole lot, he must be one hell of a listener. Or he just enjoys watching her chest move up and down. Either way, I can't really blame him.
Caleb: You on RAW tomorrow?
I shake my head, my hands finding their way to my hips.
Me: No. I'm on SmackDown. You?
Caleb: We're technically on both, but we normally tour with one or the other.
Me: Which brand are you touring with now?
Caleb: Neither. No house shows for now.
Me: Really?
Caleb: Yeah. Part of the "you never know when we'll show up" deal.
Me: You definitely got me.
Caleb: That's why you looked scared? Oh shit, my bad, Smokeshow. Next time we're involved, I'll let you know.
I offer him a friendly smile. Talking to these guys, although they're still intimidating, is making what happened earlier easier to deal with. Still scared the hell out of me. Hell, Caleb scared me the most. A big guy wearing tactical gear and a mask staring you down when you had no prior knowledge of it happening, very scary to say the least. Those...beautiful brown/blue eyes staring right into my soul...just like they are now.
This time, it's different...it's comfortable. I don't feel like he's going to Triple Powerbomb me through a table or Spear me. Right now, it feels like he'd Spear the world if I asked him to.
Caleb's POV
Our eyes are locked and I can't look away. Do you blame me, she's fucking gorgeous. And to find out her personality's just as good? Damn, uce, you'd think I won the lottery. This girl...I'd Spear the world if she asked me to.
Becky: Guys, it's starting.
She tells us, interrupting the moment. It's then that we both realize how long we've been standing without saying a word. While we were looking at each other, we must've gotten closer without knowing as well within arm's reach. I back up, grab the upper part of my vest, and clear my throat. Elizabeth scratches the back of her head nervously. As a group, we all head over to a few production crates and get ready to watch the match. From left to right, it's Cody, Carla, me, Elizabeth, Becky, then Blake. We all get comfortable as the entrances start.
Cody Rhodes is taking on the Rock for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. He's been champ for a two years now. It was supposed to be me years ago, but just before they could give me the push, I started my second battle with leukemia.
I may have lost my chance to be a record-breaking champion for now, but I'll get it back. Believe that. Anyway, we watch the match with the women and thoroughly enjoy ourselves. Returns and team-ups of all kinds occurred throughout the bout, including my hero/the man I beat at WrestleMania: the Undertaker.
Now, I know the Rock is part of my family and family is one of the most important things, but watching the Undertaker Chokeslam him...there's nothing like it. We watch on, all of us waiting to see if it'll happen. If Cody Rhodes is going to finish the story. As he hits Cross Rhodes after Cross Rhodes, I feel slender fingers gloss over mine. Rhodes covers after hitting his finish three times.
1! The hand of the fingers that have glossed over mine has its palm against the back of my hand. 2! I turn my hand without thinking, holding the hand and squeezing gently. 3! We all jump up and cheer loudly. I look down at my hand to see Elizabeth's hand in mine. We hold hands and hug out of pure excitement. The embrace is...good...warm...nice. My brain couldn't focus on holding her though as Samantha announces that Cody Rhodes is the new champion. From my hug with Elizabeth, I see Becky and Blake holding each other, although Blake isn't exactly as happy. I point at him and say loudly.
Me: You owe me money!
Blake laughs and shakes his head. I separate from Elizabeth, now realizing that we're not holding hands anymore. I turn to look at Cody and Carla who are...occupied. Apparently out of pure joy, Carla turned and kissed Cody right on the lips. When they break apart, I reach around Carla's back and fist bump Cody. Not just because of the kiss. It was mostly a "yay, Rhodes won" fist bump. During all of our celebrating, I failed to realize that my arm is still around Elizabeth, my hand on her hip. That is until one of the WWE YouTube camera guys stopped recording us and told us all we made three great couples.
Becky and Blake decide to have fun with it and don't deny it, while Cody and Carla blush madly. As for me and Elizabeth, we became very aware of our proximity. She moves her hand off of my back and shakes her head while I laugh.
Me: It's not like that, man.
Camera Guy: You sure? Could've fooled me.
Me: If I were with the Smokeshow, you really think I'd hide it?
Camera Guy: Good point. Still look cute though.
He says before walking away. I look down at the ground and chuckle a little while Elizabeth looks away, joining Cody and Carla's blushing parade.
Blake: How come you didn't deny it, Becks?
Becks: No one's gonna believe that we aren't.
Blake: Might as well then, huh? Well...why not be?
Becks: Are you asking me out, lug?
Blake: Only if you say yes. If you say no, then none of this ever happened.
Becks: What took you so long?
Blake shrugs and smiles. After the show wraps up, the six of us all go out to a nearby restaurant that's still open and hang out together. Elizabeth and Carla are pretty cool. Think we might keep them around. As for Becks, I get the feeling rooming with Blake isn't an option anymore. While we're all at dinner, Carla, Becky, and Elizabeth all take selfies. I think that's the most selfies I've been in within the span of one dinner, but I'm not complaining. If fans don't think we're dating from the YouTube videos, these selfies definitely aren't going to help. Ah who cares? Let them have their fun I guess.
