(The Main Event: Turn 3) Preparations against Smigły!

I hate Online Classes. I'll also refrain from using 'I' statements, such as 'I said' and the like, just to fix the flow of the story.

*November 7th, Zuikaku, Ooarai Girl's High School*

Miho sat with her crewmates, Turtle Team, and fellow commanders on the Tankery Team in the Student Council Room. They were all seated in chairs surrounding a coffee table. On the table were documents of tanks and a map of the field of which the Match was to be held.

Miho looked around, accounting all the commanders, as well as her own crew and the former Student Council. Knowing everyone was now here, Miho began speaking.

"Our match against Smigły High is on the 13th." Miho said, "As of now, we know that they use Polish and Soviet tanks, and make use of hit and run tactics. Their main force is comprised of T-34/76s and Polish 7TPs. They also have quite a few SU-85s, and with their hit and run tactics, we can expect them to use them as close support vehicles."

Momo Kawashima, former PR Manager of the old Student Council, walked forward and took Miho's place. Miho then sat down in a vacant seat.

Momo then gestured everyone to look at the map. Like the rest of the fields, it was split in an 8 x 8 format, with each square being about a square kilometer. On the North side was a waterfall, with giant Redwood trees along the North and North East. Near the centre is a town, taking up four grids, similar to one of those Wild West towns you see in movies. A river flowed from the water fall, through the town, and into the South West, with a bridge going over the river where it was deepest and widest. A lumbermill was located on the East side and a road connected it with the town.

"We will be starting here, in the North West." Momo said, pointing to a clearing in Redwoods. A dirt road went through it and straight into town, "We will advance towards the outskirts of the town, with Duck and Rabbit Team fanning out and scouting the perimeter. Smigły is known for its hit and run tactics and its illusiveness, so stay on guard. As Duck and Rabbit scout the town, Leopon and Hippo Team will occupy the Lumber Mill. We need our heavier tanks to secure the Mill in case Smigły already has some forces stationed there. Expect contact you two."

Momo pointed at both Erwin and Nakajima, the two nodding. Momo looked back at the map, "While Duck, Rabbit, Leopon and Hippo Team move to their positions, the rest of us will occupy the town. The sooner the better. Smigły's SU-85s will most be more vulnerable here, but they will also be harder to face head on. Once the town is taken, we'll be able to set up defensive positions. Duck and Rabbit Team will relay any sign of the enemy back to us."

All the commanders nodded, signaling they understood the plan. Momo looked back at Miho, who smiled back. Seeing as she had done her job as the official overall commander, Momo sat back down, Miho walking back to take her place.

"Training will begin tomorrow after school so that we can prepare for the match." Miho said, "Any questions?"

Ogin, commander of the Mk. IV 'Shark Team' rose her hand.

"Yes, Ogin-san?"

"Will there be a Saloon in the town?" Ogin asked.

Miho was unsure whether there was actually a Saloon, and even if there was, it might be damaged or even totaled after the match.

"I'm not sure, but even if there was, it may be damaged." Miho answered, "Anymore questions?"

No one rose their hand.

"Alright then, I call this meeting adjourned!" Miho exclaimed, seemingly pulling a gavel out of nowhere and slamming it on the table, "I've always wanted to do that!"

Everyone, except Miho's crew and Turtle Team left shortly after. Hana, Saori, and Yukari, being members of the Student Council, got to work on their duties. Anzu sat in a chair, 'nomming' on dried potatoes as Yuzu and Momo helped out the three Student Council members. Miho looked back at the map of the field, wondering how their plan will go once the match arrives. She was excited to be able to fight a foreign school, but she was also nervous. None of the Japanese schools have ever gone against the American and Canadian schools before, so this was a new experience for everyone. The news of the Japanese Participation also garnered quite a bit of news coverage. Talk of making this joint tournament an annual occasion were also brought up quite a few times on some forums she had checked. The majority actually supported the idea of a tournament between the JSF and the NATL every two years or so. Miho herself wasn't against the idea, being able to bring people together through Senshado was something she always wanted.

Miho went through some of the papers on some of Smigły's tanks yet again. She has done so for the last few days ever since Yukari came back with knowledge of their lineup. It worried her friends, but Miho was able to assure them that it was nothing other than a few butterflies in her stomach. This was the first time Japanese schools were to go against American and Canadian schools in Senshado after all, everyone was nervous.

Miho settled down her nerves and told everyone that she would be going home. They all gave her a farewell before Miho picked up her bag and walked out the room. Miho felt bad for leaving her friends to do all the Student Council work by themselves, but they would always tell her that it was fine, and since they were the Student Council this year, they would have to do all the work anyway.

As she walked down the halls, Miho felt and heard her phone go off in her pocket. Looking at the caller, she beamed a smile as it was her very own sister, Maho Nishizumi. Miho hit answer and pressed her phone against her ear.

"Hello, Onee-sama?" Miho asked.

"Miho-chan, are you free tomorrow?" Maho said through the phone.

"No, sorry," Miho answered, "We'll be busy training."

"I see..." Maho said, with a hint of disappointment in her tone, "When are you free?"

"Hmm... Oh! I know! How about the day after our first match?" Miho said.

"Sounds good." Maho said, "I'll call you later."

"Bye, Onee-sama!"

"Goodbye, Miho-chan."

With that, the call ended. Miho forgot to ask what the call was about, but she assumed that it was just Maho wanting to hang out. Miho continued down towards her apartment to watch the new Boko episode she had recorded. Miho has never missed an episode before, and she didn't plan on starting now. She also wanted to get some rest in as they would begin practice for their match against Smigły.

As she walked home, Miho noticed the streetlights come on. There was a sort of charm seeing them come on as the day turns to night. For some reason, the town looks more alive in the night, with all the lights on inside different homes and buildings. The same could be seen with the rest of LA, of which the Zuikaku was still in port. The skyline couldn't really be seen where Miho was, but she knew that it looked amazing. Saori once said how she'd like to see the city's lights come on with a boyfriend.

Relationships weren't something Miho thought about much, but she did wonder what it'd be like to have a boyfriend, or if she really does swing that way, girlfriend. Though with the Senshado Team on her plate, She doesn't really have time for any romance, even if she wanted it. For now, her love of Boko was enough.

Speaking of Boko...

Miho unlocked her door and walked into her apartment. In it were a multitude of Boko plushies and merchandise. Not to say her room was cluttered either, it was in fact, very much organized. The Boko plushies were neatly placed on her shelves, with a few on her bed. Miho went to her little coffee table and picked up the remote, turning on the TV and scrolling through her recordings. There she found the Boko episode she had waited all day to watch. Before putting it on however, Miho changed out of her clothes and into a Boko Onesie.

"Alright!" Miho said with a tone of determination, now ready to watch her recording.

Miho watched the show with a huge smile on her face. She always did with anything Boko related. Even if he would always get beat up, never winning, with no hope of ever getting better...

Miho noticed that the episode was nearing the end. She was disappointed that it was coming to an end, but she still enjoyed it nonetheless. She counted Boko getting beat up seven times in this episode. The most was about 12 and took quite literally half the episode. As the episode ended, Miho got ready to go to sleep. She brushed her teeth, turned off the lights and got into bed, snuggling in her blanket.

Boom!

An 85 mm gun roared to life, hurling a shell at a wooden mockup of a Panzer IV Ausf. H, obliterating it. The vehicle that shot that shell was an SU-85 Self Propelled Gun. After the gun and the smoke settled, It's commander stood out of the cupola with binoculars peering down the range. The target they had just blown to bits was little over a kilometer away. Satisfied with her own marksmanship, she told her driver to go back to the garage.

Her driver nodded, turning the tank and driving back. Smigły's commander, Aleksander Bartek, was tapping his foot as the SU-85s came back from their range. He wanted to get this over with as soon as possible, though a certain someone may ruin that.

"Has anyone seen Lena?" Aleksander yelled.

A few students shook their heads, though one did speak up.

"She stayed back to fire off a few more rounds." They said.

"And you made no attempt to stop her?" Aleksander asked, irritated.

"N-No..."

As Aleksander waited impatiently on Lena, her SU-85 finally arrived, half an hour late. Aleksander faced palmed. The girl was a very capable commander, one might say his best. That one, being Lena herself. Though she was pretty close on the money for that. Lena was a great shot, having the most knockouts out of everyone else on the team. She also worked as the Commander and Gunner of the SU-85. One might ask how she handles the radio then, but she somehow makes do, much to everyone else's confusion.

"Lena!" Aleksander shouted, "Do you have any idea how long you took?"

"Umm... five minutes?" Lena answered.

"You're late by half an hour! I can't send everyone else home if you're still practicing!"

"Heh..." Lena let out a nervous chuckle, knowing full well what Aleksander would do to punish her.

"And to think I actually left you in charge while I was in LA..."

"Hey," Lena said, now feeling more guilty for disappointing Aleksander, "I promise I won't do it again!"

"Really?" Aleksander asked, doubting her.

"Yeah!"

"Just don't do it again."

"That's what I'm saying!"

Aleksander sighed. He wanted to get training over with, and now that Lena was here, he could. Gathering everyone together, he officially dismissed them for the night.
