Donghyuck walked through the door of the house he shared with Mark without saying a word. He dropped the keys in the bowl with a loud clang and kicked the door to close it, walking through the hallway and into the kitchen.
"Where have you been?" Mark asked from behind him as soon as Donghyuck opened the fridge.
"Why? Did none of your open-mouthed frogs answer your booty call messages?" Donghyuck said monotonously, rolling his eyes while taking out a cool bottle of water from the fridge.
"Look, I already apologized once for bailing on you! What more do you want?" Mark sighed, rolling his eyes, "We can't keep fighting!"
"Why don't you ask the girl that you fucked on the night of the party," Donghyuck said bluntly, turning around to walk out of the kitchen when he was suddenly pulled back by heis forearm and trapped by Mark's arms.
Donghyuck's lower back was pressing into the marbled bar counter with Mark's hands trapping him, one on each side of his hips.
"You know what I think?" Mark said, voice low and gravelly, hot breath fanning over Donghyuck's face.
"What?" Donghyuck answered in a whisper.
"I think you're jealous," Mark told him, inching his face closer to Donghyuck's as Donghyuck gripped the edges of the bar counter, "I think you're jealous that it wasn't you I was kissing that night."
Mark placed a soft peck on the left corner of Donghyuck's mouth, dangerously close to his lips.
"I think you're jealous that it wasn't you I was leaving hickey's on that night," Mark said, kissing from Donghyuck's mouth to his jaw before mouthing his neck.
Donghyuck's breath started to get shallow as his resistance crumbled at the feeling of Mark's warm lips. His fingernails were digging into the marble as he tried to keep his knees from buckling. Mark was caressing his neck with his soft, gentle lips, hand moving from the marble counter to Donghyuck's waist.
"I think you're jealous," Mark said as he pulls away from Donghyuck, looking him deep in the eyes.
Donghyuck was shooketh. (Me too)
"Tell me something, baby," Mark said, finger traveling up Donghyuck's arm to his cheek.
"What?" Donghyuck could barely muster up.
"Are you jealous that it wasn't you I was fucking, as you so lewdly put it?" Mark said, smirking down at Donghyuck.
"No," he lied. (oooh, confession)
Mark clicked his tongue, disappointed at Donghyuck's blatant lie, "You're lying."
"I-I'm no-t," Donghyuck stuttered as Mark lowered his other hand down towards his ass.
"Then why are you so worked up when I haven't even done anything," Mark grinned, ego being boosted at Donghyuck's wrecked image.
"Fuck off," Donghyuck breathed out.
"What, baby? I don't think I quite heard you."
"M-mark"
"Are you finally going to admit you're jealous? Or do I have to get it out of you?"
---- ---- ---- ----
Donghyuck shot up from bed, panting, feeling hornier than he's ever felt. Donghyuck just sat there a hand shooting up to his mouth.
Did he just have a not so appropriate dream about Mark?
He just had a wet dream about the Mark Lee.
The same Mark who Donghyuck could not stand with his stupidly beautiful eyes and those big fingers that could just -
NOPE!
Donghyuck was not about to go down this route. Clearly his subconscious slutty self wanted Mark...
There was a knock at the door and Donghyuck jumped at the sound.
"Yeah?" he answered, clearing his throat, not wanting to sound too obvious.
"Donghyuck? You alright?" Jaemin asked, peeking through as he opened it.
"Jaemin," Donghyuck said, knowing he would regret this decision, "I need to tell you something."
"What is it?" Jaemin asked, walking in with a concerned expression, "What's wrong?"
"After I shower," Donghyuck said, cheeks flushing.
"Uhh, okay?" His friend said, eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he exited the room.
"What am I going to do?!" Donghyuck muttered to himself, falling back on the soft pillows, taking one and covering his face, wanting nothing more than to scream.
His suspicions had just been confirmed.
Lee Donghyuck was attracted to Mark Lee.
"I'm screwed." he said, "And I want him to screw me."
Donghyuck had just gotten out of bed and was going to go into the bathroom when he heard a vibration coming from his phone that he had left charging on the bedside table.
"Lee Donghyuck speaking," he answered immediately.
"Why aren't you in your own house?" The curt reply came.
"Because I'm at Jaemin's," Donghyuck replied, knowing immediately that the way he answered was rude, but he didn't have the patience to care at this point.
"Why are you there instead of being with Mark?! You're living together for a reason!"
"I needed a break," Donghyuck said.
"Well, break time's over!" The voice said, commandingly, "Go home and change. You and Mark both have an interview."
"I'm at Jaemin's," Donghyuck said, "Can't I just get ready here? It makes so much more se-"
"No." Mrs. Lee said, cutting Donghyuck off before he could even finish, "You and Mark need to be seen together. There are already rumors spreading that he left your party midway and didn't come back."
"It's not a rumor if it's true," Donghyuck said.
"The fact that you even had a party without passing it through me..." His manager scoffed, "It was incredibly stupid and both of us know it."
"It was a social party, not a networking one..." Donghyuck tried to say without sounding too hurt.
"Just get ready and come to the studio. I'm sending the driver in an hour." Mrs. Lee says and hangs up without waiting for a reply.
Donghyuck had to remind himself as he stared down, hurt, at his phone that the person on the other line isn't his mother. And that the person on the other line hasn't been his mother for a really long time, ever since his dad died, really.
"Hey," Jaemin said, knocking on the door but entering it anyway, "Mrs. Lee just called me."
Jaemin could see the hurt written all over Donghyuck's face. The funny thing about Donghyuck, according to Jaemin, is that no matter how many awards he gets for Best Actor, he could never hide his emotions.
Donghyuck wore his heart on his sleeve and even though Donghyuck thinks it's his worst quality, Jaemin knew it was his best.
"You okay?" Jaemin asked, leaning against the doorframe.
"Could I borrow some clothes to go back?" Donghyuck asked, not wanting to look Jaemin in the eye.
"Mi closet es su closet," Jaemin said.
"Thanks, Nana."
"Do you want to talk about it?" Jaemin asked in a soft voice.
"What's to talk about?" Donghyuck said before scoffing, "I should be used to being an orphan, right? It's only been years since my father died. The only thing that sucks is that he took my mother to the grave with him."
---- ---- ---- ----
Donghyuck opened the door of his house, trying to think of literally anything and everything else except for the dream that he had. He didn't want to make it obvious.
Donghyuck put the keys in a bowl and noise bounced off the walls of the house with a clang. As soft and as slow as he could, Donghyuck closed the front door before making his way to the kitchen without thinking about anything other than his parched and dry throat.
Donghyuck opened up the fridge, crouching down to find the bottles of water he'd always kept there.
"Where have you been?"
He jumped at the sudden sound, almost falling backward onto the floor.
Donghyuck held himself steady by the door and took the bottle of water out, ignoring Mark.
"Seriously Donghyuck?" Mark said, rolling his eyes at Donghyuck's immaturity, "Look! I already apologized countless times! We can't keep fighting!"
Donghyuck's eyes went wide. This was almost exactly what Dream Mark said to him! He could not have anything happen between them.
"I will not be one of your open-mouthed frogs!" Donghyuck screamed at Mark, tightening his hold on the bottle of water as he fled to his room, slamming and locking the door behind him and leaving behind a very confused Mark.
"Open...mouthed frogs? What?" Mark said out loud, hoping that would make more senseto him.
It didn't.
Mark waited patiently, already dressed as his manager called him in the morning and told him that they would have to do damage control.
He sighed audibly. He and Donghyuck were doing fine before that stupid party.
It was both of their faults really.
It was Mark's fault for making the mood awkward.
It was Donghyuck's fault for thinking Mark was just his reputation.
It was Mark's fault for proving that he lived up to his reputation...
Maybe he shouldn't really think about faults....It wouldn't work out well for any of them.
God! If Donghyuck would just talk to him then maybe both of them could sort this out and go back to bing watching Netflix while eating pizza.
Mark missed those days. Sure, they had only been living together for about 3 weeks now, but he really did think of them as friends.
They had started to push past the awkward and moved into actually trusting each other. They had been friends so much longer than living together and although he obviously fantasized about moving it past the friendship stage, Mark did genuinely enjoy Donghyuck's company.
Donghyuck would come home from filming and tell Mark all about his day, and Mark would listen. Donghyuck would ask what he did and Mark would tell him.
Mark would confide in Donghyuck when he was stuck on a song, asking him what he genuinely thought about it and much to Mark's surprise, his input and outlook on things would actually be helpful.
When Donghyuck wanted to practice lines, he was always there. When Donghyuck had to stay up late, Mark brought him coffee and sat with him, each of them doing their own thing.
It may have been almost a month, but to Mark, it felt a lot longer.
He heard the rattle of his doorknob as Donghyuck unlocked the door, cologne wafting throughout the hall as soon as it opened. Mark stood up, waiting in the living room for him to come out.
Donghyuck walked out while putting on his denim jacket, his shirt and jeans clinging to his every curve. He was beautiful.
"What?" Donghyuck said, stopping in his tracks when he saw Mark looking at him in awe.
"You're beautiful," Mark said.
The only thing Donghyuck could think of was Dream Mark looking at him like that. He tried his best to calm down to prevent his face from heating up.
Donghyuck cleared his throat and looked down at his phone and said, "Let's go. The car's here."
Mark and Donghyuck made their way outside, thankfully without being noticed by the paparazzi. Kun opened the door and they got into the backseat while he got into the driver's seat.
"Hey, Kun!" Donghyuck greeted his driver cheerfully.
"Have a good morning, Donghyuck?" Kun asked with a smile.
"Better now you're here," Donghyuck said.
"Mr. Lee," Kun greeted with a nod.
"Please, call me Mark," Mark said, "And you're Kun?"
"Yes, Mark," Kun nodded, "Have a good morning?"
"I did, thank you," Mark said, "Did you?"
"Yes, I did," Kun said, looking ahead.
Donghyuck listened to their painfully awkward and formal conversation and tried his best to stifle a laugh. he could see Kun smiling at his antics from the front seat.
"We need to get our story straight," Donghyuck said, turning to Mark, "I'm sure the party incident is going to come up."
Mark looked at Donghyuck with wide eyes and then looked back at Kun.
"Kun's been with me my whole life. He's one of the very few people in my life that I can trust blindly," Donghyuck said, "I know he won't say anything."
"Alright then," Mark said, nodding.
"So, what's our story?" Donghyuck sighed, "Why did you leave the party?"
"To get ice," Mark said.
"Where did you go to get ice? Alaska?"
"We can spin it," Mark said, "I needed to go get ice because the icebox was broken but because it was so late there weren't many places open."
"There's a convenience store literally a block away from the house," Donghyuck said, shaking his head, "The story won't work."
"Well, throw me a bone here!" Mark said, annoyed, "What else can we say?"
"Well, this wouldn't have happened if you kept your dick to yourself," Donghyuck muttered under his breath.
"It happened anyway, okay!" Mark yelled, "And instead of bringing it up you should help to find a solution rather than create more problems!"
Donghyuck flinched at Mark's booming voice and he could see Kun looking in the rearview mirror to make sure that he wasn't hurt.
"Okay," Donghyuck said in a small voice, "We'll go with the icebox story."
Mark sighed, "Donghyuck, I didn't mean to raise my voice. I just-"
"Donghyuck, Mark," Kun said, putting the car in park, "We're here."
"Thank you, Kun!" Donghyuck said, "I'll see you later."
"See you later, Donghyuck," Kun said with a smile.
"Thank you," Mark mumbled and got out of the car behind Donghyuck.
"Mark." Kun said, nodding, glaring at him.
