"Donghyuck, do you think you could help me with-" Jungwoo said, walking into the room where Donghyuck was getting ready and stopped just short of the door, "Wow."
"What?" Donghyuck asked, putting his earring in.
"You look amazing!" Jungwoo complimented.
"Aww thank you," Donghyuck said with a smile on his face, "So do you!"
"Not as good as you," Jungwoo said truthfully.
"Are you sure YangYang is going to be okay with you going out like this?"
"Like what?" Jungwoo asked nervously looking at himself.
"All eyes will be on you and not on him!" Donghyuck teased, "Look at how gorgeous you look."
"Stop!" Jungwoo said, a blush on his cheeks.
"What do you need help with, Woo?" Donghyuck asked.
"I can't find a lipstick to match my suit and the rest of my makeup."
"I have one!" Donghyuck said, ruffling through his make-up bag and pulling out a red tint lipstick.
"I wonder what Mark's going to say about what you're wearing," Jungwoo said.
"What about it?" Donghyuck asked, putting the lipstick on Jungwoo.
"You look gorgeous! I don't know how he's going to keep his hands off you," Jungwoo said once Donghyuck finished applying the lipstick on him.
"He has great self-control," Donghyuck joked. "Well? What do you think?"
"It's perfect!" Jungwoo said and hugged Donghyuck. "Thank you!"
"Are you nervous about being a Man of Honor?" Donghyuck asked, packing his stuff up. (a Man of Honor is the male version of a bridesmaid. They are different from groomsmen.)
"Incredibly," Jungwoo admitted.
"You just have to walk down the aisle and stand there looking all pretty which isn't going to be hard at all for you," Donghyuck said, "You're going to be fine."
"Jungwoo!" Mark called from the stairs.
"Yeah?" Jungwoo answered.
"YangYang is asking for you!"
"Coming!" Jungwoo said turning to Donghyuck, "You need my help?"
"No, I'm good," Donghyuck said with a smile, "I'll see you downstairs."
Donghyuck had his back turned to the door as he was cleaning up the dressing table, putting his make-up and other things back in its place.
"Hey Donghyuck, we have about 15 minutes until YangYang ready," Mark said, looking at his phone as he walked into the room.
"Just give me a minute," Donghyuck told him, zipping up his make up pouch and setting it in his bag.
"Want me to wait for you or..." Mark said, looking up.
As cliche as it sounds, Mark's breath hitched while looking at Donghyuck. His mouth dropped and his eyes bulged out.
Sure he's seen him on red carpets dressed up to the nines, hair and make-up professionally done, the lighting perfect yet Mark's never seen him like this.
The maroon of Donghyuck's suit contrasted with his skin and his hair had been styled into effortless, loose waves. His make up was simple yet it made him look like he had gotten it done.
It was the first time Mark was in awe of Donghyuck.
"What is it? Is there something on my face?" Donghyuck asked, suddenly turning back around to the mirror.
"No," Mark said, his voice cracking in the middle of the one-syllable word, "I mean, uhh, you um, you look good, Haechan-ie"
"Thank you," Donghyuck said, clearing his throat.
"Shall we?" Mark said, holding out his hand.
Donghyuck took Mark's hand in his and Mark intertwined them together, walking out of the room and into the backyard where most of the family had already gathered.
"You going to be okay alone for a bit, love?" Mark asked Donghyuck, walking Donghyuck to his seat.
"It's not like you're going off to war," Donghyuck giggled, "You're standing right there."
"Yeah but-" Mark said.
"I'll be okay, Hyung-ie," Donghyuck said, letting Mark's hand go.
Mark clenched his hand into a fist, flexing it for a bit to try and regain the warmth that was lost when Donghyuck let his hand go.
What was wrong with him?
He didn't feel this way five minutes ago and now all of a sudden he couldn't wait to hold Donghyuck's hand and see him smile.
"I'll see you after the wedding then," He said, putting his hands in his pockets.
"Mark!" Donghyuck said just as Mark had turned his back.
"Yeah?"
"You look really handsome in that tux," Donghyuck told him, a slight blush rushing to his cheeks.
Mark felt himself smiling as he walked towards Hendery who was fidgeting nervously, waiting at the aisle.
"What's got you in a good mood?" He asked Mark.
"Just..." Mark said, shrugging his shoulders, "Weddings, man."
"Tell me about it," Hendery said, checking his watch and then looking at the french windows where YangYang was supposed to walk out.
"Nervous?" Asked Mark.
"He's going to show, right?" Hendery asked.
"Dude, have you been watching those stupid shows again?" Mark said, rolling his eyes.
"I can't help it!" Hendery defended, "I needed to know what to do if he didn't turn up!"
"Why wouldn't YangYang turn up?" Mark asked him. "You idiots are in love and are promising yourselves to each other! You've talked about this."
"You're right," Hendery said, shaking the bad thoughts out of his head. "Man, when did you get so smart!"
Mark looked at Donghyuck, "Guess, I just got smart."
'Here Comes The Bride' started playing over the speakers and Hendery stood straight, eyes unwavering from the french windows as he watched the Bridesmaids and Men of Honor come out one by one starting with Jungwoo until finally, YangYang walked out.
YangYangwas glowing, his white tux contrasting with his blue flower bouquet. His father was on his side, escorting him every step of the way as he made his way down the aisle.
Mark took one look at YangYang but couldn't help that his eyes drifted to Donghyuck who had a huge smile on his face as he watched the scene unfold before him. Mark could see slight tears pricking Donghyuck's eyes as he looked at the father-son duo, yet he had a smile on his face.
Hendery took YangYang's hand in his and they stood in front of each other and their family and closest friends. They professed their love in front of everyone with their sweet vows, that made Donghyuck tear up, and their 'I dos' that were accompanied by two beautiful rings.
"I now pronounce you husband and husband," The priest declared, "You may now kiss."
Cheers erupted as Hendery took YangYang by the waist and dipped him, crashing their lips together. Hendery pulled YangYang up and walked him down the aisle, hand in hand as the people cheered.
"So," Mark said, walking up to Donghyuck, "How was it?"
"Beautiful," Donghyuck said, looking at the now empty aisle and almost empty backyard.
"You cried," Mark observed.
"I did not!" Donghyuck denied.
"I saw you from up there," Mark said.
"I teared up." Donghyuck corrected, "Two very different things."
"Just admit you cried," Mark said rolling his eyes.
"Lee Donghyuck never cries."
"Lee Donghyuck should not refer to himself in the third person."
"Lee Donghyuck cannot stop once he's started," Donghyuck joked.
"What are you doing right now?" Mark found himself asking.
"Going with everyone else?" Donghyuck asked more than said.
"Go get changed," Mark told him.
"Why?"
"I want to take you somewhere and a tux might make it hard for you." He said.
"What about your best man speech?" Donghyuck asked, worried.
"Hendery said to give it tomorrow in front of everyone."
"Oh." Donghyuck said, "What do I wear?"
"Clothes," Mark suggested, "Or not...Your choice."
"What kind of clothes, dork!" Donghyuck said, pushing his shoulder.
"Anything comfortable."
---- ---- ---- ----
"Where are you taking me?" Donghyuck asked, the wind making him shiver slightly.
"You're the least patient person I know," Mark said with a laugh.
"I prefer to think of myself as curious," Donghyuck retorted, unconsciously running his hands up and down his arms in a futile effort to warm himself up.
"Here," Mark said, noticing that he was cold and shrugged off the jacket he had changed into and slinging it around Donghyuck's shoulders.
"Thank you," Donghyuck said, looking at Mark's disheveled hair and still in his white dress shirt with a couple of buttons unbuttoned.
Donghyuck bit his lip, only now realizing how attractive Mark really was. Donghyuck quickly shook the thought out of his head and tried to hide underneath the warm jacket that still smelt like Mark.
"Close your eyes," Mark said, stopping Donghyuck mid-step.
"You're not going to murder me, are you?"
"Not yet."
"They're closed," Donghyuck said, closing his eyes, the jacket still hung over his shoulders.
"Hold out your hand," Mark said, his voice softer and lower now.
Donghyuck held his hand out only to feel the warmth of Mark's as he intertwined their fingers together, his other hand leading him somewhere.
"Step up here," Mark said, his breath tickling the side of Donghyuck's neck as he supported him.
Mark led Donghyuck to where he wanted him. His free hand let Donghyuck's waist go, going over his eyes just in case Donghyuck opened them.
"Mark, what are you doing?"
"Shh," Mark said until he finally stopped the both of them.
He moved Donghyuck slightly. Mark let his hand go.
Donghyuck immediately felt colder, but said and did nothing. That hand moved and snaked around his waist.
"Open," Mark said and moved the hand off of Donghyuck's eyes.
Donghyuck gasped at the sight in front of them.
Mark brought him to the side of a bridge that overlooked a river and on the opposite side of the river was the city. It was illuminated and reflected through the water.
It was beautiful and magical.
That simple concrete jungle was illuminated by the street lights, by cars and houses. Each light had its own story to tell and Donghyuck was in love with the sight. It may seem simple, but damn it was truly a sight to behold.
"I used to come here when things were getting to be too much," Mark told him, "Even in the morning it's quite a sight. It makes my problems seem smaller somehow."
"I know what you mean," Donghyuck said, his eyes never wavering.
"This bridge knows all my secrets," Mark revealed.
"I have a place like this too," Donghyuck said out of the blue.
"Where is your place?"
"There's a sea near my childhood house; the one I grew up with my mom and dad," Donghyuck explained, turning to face him, "If you look hard enough, there's this part that is fenced off from everyone else. No one remembers why but no one goes there anyway. In that part, there's this boulder. That's my safe space."
"Have you been back lately?" Mark asked.
"I haven't gone back since my dad died," Donghyuck confessed.
"Why not?"
"Nothing ever seemed quite drastic after that," Donghyuck said. "When was the last time you came back here?"
"Just before the band's tour started last year," Mark said.
"Something on your mind?" Donghyuck asked.
"You could say that," Mark said.
"Thank you," Donghyuck said after a beat of silence.
"What for?"
"Introducing me to your special place."
"Have you shown anyone yours?" Mark asked out of curiosity.
"No," Donghyuck said.
"Not even your dad?"
"Not even him," Donghyuck told him.
Silence descended the bridge, only the sound of the wind in between them as they looked out at the scene before them.
"Donghyuck," Mark said.
"Yeah?"
"You look really beautiful today," Mark said, looking at him, eyes going soft.
"And you look incredibly handsome," Donghyuck told him, a giggle falling out of his mouth.
Mark couldn't help but smile at how adorable Donghyuck looked. His rainbow hair falling in front of his eyes and wearing Mark's jacket that was too big for him.
"It's almost midnight," Mark found himself saying.
"And?" Donghyuck asked, cocking his head to one side.
"I know what I'm going to use my other chance on," Mark said, standing in front of Donghyuck.
"What?" Donghyuck whispered, his eyes flickering from Mark's eyes to his mouth.
"I want to kiss you."
Mark stood in front of him, each of his hand resting on the ledge of the bridge, trapping Donghyuck against the rail. His hazel brown eyes stared deep into Donghyuck's brown ones.
"Do it then."
