Red Glow
Gray's POV:
"Because.. I think I've figured this thing out," at this point I had no choice but to explain, "Last time, when I held your hand, I had a reason to -- I meant it. So holding hands without a reason won't do anything..."
"I don't understand," Natsu had a stupid look on his face, "There needs to be a reason? Isn't freeing a village reason enough?"
"Guess not," I sighed, "Last time my reason was to keep you from breaking your face on the ground, so, maybe the reason has to have something to do with you..."
We both stood there in thought. I feel like he was starting to understand what I meant... I mean, to me it was obvious, but Natsu's confused expression told me he was no where close to figuring it out. I guess I have to be the one to do this... I gulped and prepared myself for what I was about to do. I placed both hands on Natsu's shoulders and leaned towards him. In one solid motion I enclosed him in an embrace and forced my lips onto his. As soon as I did, I felt his whole body tense up. Natsu tried to push on my chest, but I held on tighter to prevent him from getting away. My eyes were closed, so I couldn't see what was happening, however the air started to feel warmer. Like we were no longer standing in a frozen wasteland, but rather on a beach in Maui. (I prefered the frozen wasteland though.)
After about a minute, I pulled away from Natsu. "W-what the hell?!" He stuttered, wiping off his lips.
"Huh, I guess it didn't work.." I was a bit disappointed that my plan didn't work.
"What didn't work?" Natsu asked, "What was that even supposed to d-- woah..." He suddenly got distracted by something. I looked up to find the whole village enclosed in a bright red glow. "What's happening...?"
