Wait Up

(Yeah, get your mind off college by writing about college. Perfect logic....)

"So let me get this straight," Lillie frowned, bringing her hands together in front of her face "The reason you've been down this week is because Natalie had a hickey, causing you to fall into minor depression and draining all your motivation to dance. And then yesterday you caught her snogging some manwhore which made you end your relationship with her altogether. But you were too upset to go home and instead wandered the streets with waterfalls for eyes?"

Gladion bit the inside of his cheek, playing with the black band on his wrist "Yeah pretty much."

"Why that little--"

"Hey um," Megan popped her head through the gap in her door, hiding her probably indecent body behind it "Can someone toss that shirt my way?" She pointed to the dark grey piece of fabric hanging over the back of the couch. Gladion grabbed it and threw it at her, which she caught in one hand before retreating back into her room and closing the door. "Thanks!"

"--Bitch!" Lillie breathed out, relieved she was finally able to finish her sentence as she had completely frozen when Megan butted in.

"Potty mouth." Gladion scolded his sister, leaning his arm over the back of the couch.

Lillie scoffed "Alright, whatever dad! And it's not like your vocabulary is completely pure either!"

"Well it's not like I use bad words often."

"That's a lie!" Megan yelled from her room "I can tell you now that I heard you swear at least five times last night, and one of them was while complimenting a hot beverage!"

Gladion growled "No one asked you!"

"I know! I just like inviting myself into conversations!"

"You're a terrible person!"

"Yeah well if you take one letter out of my name it spells 'mean', so it's kinda required!"

"...What kinda logic is that?!"

"My logic! Conversation over!"

"But--"

THUMP

And now it was her turn to throw books.

"...Okay good talk!" Gladion yelled, voice cracking before turning his head to his sister. She was smirking "What's up with you?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Oh nothing~" She sang "Just thinking about how you and Megan went from scowls and bites, to teasing and banter."

The male shrugged "There's not much to think about. We just saw different sides to each other."

"Which caused you to like each other?"

"IIII'd say it's more like respecting each each other, rather than liking."

Lillie hummed, brushing her fringe out of her face "So how did Megan find you?"

"I bumped into him."

The siblings turned around to the surprise answer, finding Megan closing her door behind her and ruffling her hair with a towel to dry it "To be honest the only reason I found him is because I was out shopping, so it was all a huge coinky-dink."

"Coinky-dink?" Gladion echoed.

"Coincidence." Lillie translated.

"Oh yeah sure use the boring term," Megan huffed, throwing her towel into the washing basket "But yeah, I wasn't going to leave the poor crybaby in the rain, so I brought him here."

"Uh-huh," Lillie hummed "And you didn't want me to kill you for leaving him."

"That too." She shrugged, making her way to sit between the siblings. Gladion managed to get a glimpse of what she was wearing, which was her usual black leggings and a grey shirt with a Harry Potter house on it.

"Slytherin, huh?" He muttered.

"Hm? Oh yeah." Megan pulled the edge of her shirt down, exposing more of the green symbol "Proud to be one."

"Nice."

Lillie watched them, lips slightly parted and eyebrows raised. "Who are you and what have you done with my friend and brother?"

They turned to her, eyebrows furrowing in confusion "What?"

"Are you blind? You guys are obviously friends now!"

Megan and Gladion exchanged glances, before looking at the blonde again "Yeah, and?"

"No normal person changes their opinion that fast!"

"We're not normal." Megan stated simply, leaning back against the couch "C'mon Lillie, you know us better than that."

...

She was right, they aren't normal. And it was probably an insult to think they were "Right. Sorry."

Megan sighed, stretching her arms up above her head before standing up. She grabbed a handful of her hair, bunching it all up until she had a decent looking middle ponytail at the back of her head. She pulled one of the hairbands on her wrists off with her teeth, before taking it and tying up her hair. Gladion watched curiously, not knowing whether to ask or not, but he decided to when she made her way towards the door. "Where are you going?"

"I promised Sun I'd go for a morning jog with him." She answered simply, grabbing her blue and green trainers and slipping them on. "I should be back in under two hours, so you guys are welcome to stick around until then. But if not, Lillie you have the key."

"That I do." Lillie agreed, spinning the said key around her finger.

"Wait, Sun... Isn't that the black haired dude you hang out with?" Gladion asked, raising an eyebrow. Megan mimicked his action, crossing her arms in the process.

"So what if it is?"

"Aren't you worried he'll start thinking indecent thoughts with you..." He gestured to her attire, which was tight and showed off her curves a little too well "Ahem, when you're dressed like that?"

Megan's eyes widened, and she made eye contact with Lillie from across the room, before both of them threw their heads back in a fit of laughter.

"Oh my God that's adorable!"

"What? What is?" The boy blinked, frowning in confusion.

"The fact you think Sun will be checking her out." Lillie clarified, covering her mouth with her hand.

"How is that funny?"

"Gladion, Sun's gay as hell, the only thing he's going to be checking out is Kiawe's shirtless chest when he's attending Yoga classes."

"Ain't that the truth!" her friend agreed "But I appreciate your concern, French fry."

Gladion scowled, not liking the smug smirk he was getting "Dream on, Artemus!"

---

Sun breathed out through his nose, beginning to grow impatient with waiting for the girl he called his sister. It's not that they were blood related or anything, but they had known each other for a very long time, and the sibling relationship they had going on somehow materialized. Not that either of them were complaining. Buuuut, her ability of being late for anything that didn't involve college did get on his nerves.

However, the sound of trainers soon reached his ears, causing him to peer through his hair. The girl was lightly jogging towards him, ponytail bobbing, water bottle in hand as she waved at him. He waved back, though his face did not show the littlest amount of amusement as she approached.

"Hey," She grinned as she stopped in front of him, though lost it as soon as she saw his frown What's eating you?"

"You're late." Sun replied simply.

Megan's lips formed a pout, and she moved to lean against the wall next to him "By like what, ten seconds?"

"More like minutes."

"What?" She looked down at her phone, and Sun noticed how her jaw tightened at the time and the audible "Shit!" that came out of her mouth.

"Yeah." He pursed his lips into a frown "That's what's 'eating' me."

"Suuuun, I'm sorry." Megan looked over at the boy, her face softening-- Oh no! No she is not going to use the puppy dog eyes on him. It's not gonna work.

"Don't even try using those eyes." Sun groaned "It's not going to work."

"Sun," Shit the sister voice, too?! That's fucking cheating.

Sun turned away, arms crossed over his chest as he let out an audible 'hmph'

"Look it's not my fault there was a whiny french fry sprawled out on my couch!"

French fry? Sprawled... on her cou-- Oooooh yeah. Lillie did mention that.

Sun glanced at her for a moment "Was he being an ass? Because I swear, if he invades my sister's home acts like a cunt I'm gonna--"

"No no no!" Megan laughed, waving her hands around in dismissal "He was just panicky, thinking you'd be 'checking me out' the whole time we're jogging."

"...He does know I don't swing that way, right?"

"Well he does now." She shrugged, before cracking up slightly "You should've seen the embarrassment on his face! His cheeks went red as ketchup, to go with his hair!"

"Sounds Hila-- Wait... Why was he even worrying? Don't you guys hate each other?"

"We did. But we're cool now."

"Ooooo ¿Es ese amor el que sentido en el aire?"

"Sun..." Megan sighed, crossing one arm over her chest and bringing the other to her face. She ran her hand down her face before glaring at the boy "Just because we both took Spanish, does not mean you can use it to tease me... And no, it's not."

"Hehe... Ya veremos..."

"Vamos a trotar..."

.......

"Okay." Sun grinned, and the two began moving in a quick steady pace "But you know I'm right."

"You know I can just turn around and head home, right?" Megan stated in an annoyed tone, pointing over her shoulder in the direction she came from. Sun gasped.

"You can't leave me!"

"I can, and I will."

"No!" He grabbed her arm as soon as she turned on her heel "Okay, you win. I'll stop with the romance and shit."

Megan smiled, mentally celebrating her victory "Thank you, Sunny boy... Now three laps around the block, go!"

"Wha-- Hey!" Sun whined as the girl shot past him, doing his best to keep up with her and her stupid long legs "That's cheating!"

"Can't hear you!" Megan yelled back, keeping her eyes ahead and sticking in her earbuds that had Shawn Mendes blasting through them "Music's too loud!"

Sun let out a sigh "Sly bitch..." He muttered, shaking his head playfully before picking up the pace "Hey, wait up for a sec!"
