Hater's gonna hate

Gladion trudged through the hallway of the dance studio, one hand gripping the strap of his backpack while the other held his phone inside his pocket. His hood was up, head was down, earbuds in to block out the world. He hummed softly along to the tune of History Maker unconsciously. I say unconsciously because he would never purposefully listen to such a ridiculous tune, from a stupid anime... which he most certainly did not secretly adore. Nope. He's never even laid his eyes on Yuri! On Ice. Don't be silly--

He stumbled backwards as a force met with his chest, only just able to catch himself and stay on his feet. The other person however, which Gladion had accidentally bumped into, landed ass first on the floor, causing the papers she was holding to sprawl across the hallway.

"I'm so sorr--"

They both cut the apology short immediately once making eye contact, their shocked expressions morphing into scowls in an instant.

"Megan." Gladion greeted behind gritted teeth.

"Gladion." Megan responded with irritation equal to his. They broke eye contact by abruptly turning their heads away with a 'hmph'.

Megan began picking up the paperwork she had dropped, muttering a few curse words while she did and not paying any mind to the boy looking down on her. Gladion scoffed, but found amusement in watching her crawl around the floor like a mouse.

"Thanks, doofus."

His eyebrows raised at her sudden comment "Pardon?"

"Because you were such a clutz and bumped into me, I'm gonna be late handing my assignment in." She growled, not bothering to look up at the person she was speaking to.

"Excuse me?" Gladion scoffed "I'll have you know you walked into me, this is your fault."

"I beg to differ, Frenchfry."

...

Oh no she didn't...

As Megan reached out for the last paper a red trainer slammed down on it, preventing her from picking it up. She huffed in annoyance.

"Oi, Bigfoot, get your smelly foot off my assignment."

Gladion said nothing, and only watched the girl struggle to pull the sheet out from under his foot with a scowl.

"Hey! Did you hear me, I said--" Megan ate her words as soon as she looked up at the boy, finding his glare more intimidating than usual. Maybe it was because he was towering over her, or that his emerald green eyes glowed through the shadow casting over his face. She gulped under his gaze, averting her own until it landed on her assignment.

"Never. Make fun of my hair again, got it?" He growled coldly, and she had to use all self control to stop herself from shivering.

"Fine..." She muttered.

Gladion sighed, removing his foot and allowing her to grab the last of her paperwork. She stood, daring to give the male one last glance. His face was back to his classic frown. Without another word he brushed past her, purposefully knocking her shoulder in the process and continued down to the hall. Megan glared at his back from over her shoulder, before letting out yet another smug comment.

"By the way, I never pictured you to listen to History Maker!"

Gladion stopped in his tracks, face turning red as he quickly pulled out his earphones "Is that what that shit was? Must be why I hated it so much!"

Megan snickered "Sure!" this got her the the cold shoulder, and the middle finger. Gladion 'tch'd and once again began walking, leaving the girl he always seemed to fight with behind.

'I seriously do not like that girl...'

---

"By the way, Meg. Did something happen between you and Gladion?"

Megan paused her stretching, pursing her lips together as she glanced at her best friend "What makes you think that?"

"Well..." Lillie pointed to the side "Gladion's been glaring at you the whole time we've been stretching, and I just wondered if you guys fought again."

Megan raised an eyebrow before following Lillie's finger, her eyes landing upon a familiar edgelord who was in fact glaring in her direction. She clicked her tongue, turning her head away, and continued her lunge to flyes. "No, he's just being stupid as usual."

A bead of sweat formed by Lillie's brow "You know I think you hate my brother more than you hate Leven."

Megan let out a laugh "Sweetie I can't hate anyone more than I hate that four-eyes."

"You girls talkin' about me?"

Megan groaned, arching her head back at the male's voice. Leven seemed to smirk at her reaction.

"Whadda ya want, water-boy?" the girl barked at him, standing up straight and placing her hands on her hips. Leven put a hand to his heart, faking an offended gasp.

"Am I not allowed to greet my favourite classmates?"

"Favourite classmates my ass! Clearly you have some criticism in mind, so out with it!"

The blue haired boy grinned deviously, pushing his glasses further up his nose and flicking his hair out of his eyes "Very well, Artemus. I saw your little incident with that Aether boy this morning, and I must say the way you handled it was far from graceful."

Megan scowled, cocking her hips to one side "No one asked for your opinion on how I handle things, Lev. And why were you stalking me, anyway?"

"I wasn't stalking. I was simply walking to the office, and just happened to come across the your little slip up with the new kid." Leven crossed his arms, lifting his chin cockily. Lillie watched their exchange in confusion, and eventually made eye contact with her brother who seemed to be observing from afar.

Megan rolled her eyes and turned on her heel, giving her nemesis the cold shoulder "Whatever, I don't care. If that's all you came over here for, then go back to your equally dickish boyfriend."

"Isaac's not my boyfriend." Leven scoffed.

"Hmm, funny that you immediately think I'm talking about Isaac~"

Lillie snorted from the sidelines, and Leven bared his teeth at the smug smile the blonde-brunette had sent him from over her shoulder. Without another word he spun around, flipping his hair in the process and trudging off. Seconds later Kukui walked in.

"Alright, kiddos, let's get straight to it yeah?" He grinned widely, clapping his hands together "Let's start up with some pair exercises, so hurry up and find a partner!"

Megan immediately turned her head to Lillie, only to find she had been dragged off by none other than Sun. She mouthed a quick sorry to her friend, who's mouth had fallen agape.

"Betrayal!" She yelled at the blonde.

Megan huffed, crossing her arms before scanning the room for her other two frien--

They fucking paired up too!!!!

Megan's eyes widened at the sight of Rose and Hau helping each other stretch, and she switched her gaze between the two pairs which had abandoned her. She felt cheated on.

'This is why you should always have an even number of friends...' She thought to herself, sulking at the fact she'd have to pair up with someone she didn't give a shit about. She scanned the room, eyes landing on a tall muscular Cuban boy. Dune. Luckily for her he was already taken by Pastel.

'Thank God. The last thing I need is getting squashed by Hulk's love child!'

"Alright, does anyone not have a partner?" Kukui's voice called over the students' voices. Megan grunted and hesitantly raised her hand, hoping she'd be the only one left and be able to be in a three with one of her friends' pairs.

Much to her dismay, that wasn't the case.

"Ah, perfect. You two can pair up and we can start the exercise." Kukui beamed, pointing at Megan with one finger and with the other pointing somewhere to her right. Megan sighed. She supposed it couldn't be helped. All she could really do was deal with working with a stranger until class was ov--

Oh.

Oh no.

Okay, she took it back. Working with Dune was fine.

Looked like her 'partner' wasn't all too thrilled with the situation either. With awkward frowns they slowly moved towards each other until they were inches away. Megan glared up at him, and Gladion glared back down at her. Was this really worth sucking it up?

...

Hell to the fucking no!

"Um, Kukui sir?" a hand was raised from the crowd, by none other than Leven Mist "Those two don't seem too happy about working with each other. Maybe they should switch with another pair."

'Huh. Four-eyes can actually think.'

"I'd be more than willing to switch with Gladion, if necessary." He continued, sending a smirk towards Megan.

'NOPE! Even Frenchfry is better than him!'

With a growl Megan grabbed Gladion's wrist, dragging him towards a space in the room far from Leven. Gladion seemed too shocked to object, but as soon as the tugging ceased he roughly pulled his hand from Megan's grasp.

"What gives? I thought you were against working with me."

"I was- and I still am." Megan turned to face him "But anything is better than working with Leven."

Gladion blinked at her for a moment, pointing over his shoulder at the crowd they separated from "That's Leven?"

"Mhmm."

He glanced at the blue haired boy from over his shoulder "Huh."

"Trust me if I paired up with him, shit would go down." Megan sighed, arms folded and eyes falling to the floor.

"Yeah it didn't seem like you were too friendly towards each other earlier..."

They both glanced at the said boy, pursing their lips together and thinking about the possible ways the class would've ended if Megan paired with him. Most popular thought, a broken window with one of them at the bottom of the building. Leven caught the teens staring at him and waved, a sickly sweet smile on his face. Megan and Gladion let out an 'ugh'.

"Anyway," Megan spoke up as Gladion turned to her again "As much as I hate it, we're gonna have to be civil with each other, just until class is over. Then we can go right back to living our lives in spite, we got a deal?"

Gladion stared at her outstretched hand, eyebrow raised. She sighed.

"And... I'll buy you a McDonald's."

"Deal."

They shook hands before pulling away, wiping their palms on their shirts right away before turning to their instructor. This whole time he had been finding a good song to exercise to, and had only just now decided on some traditional Japanese music.

"Okay, gang. Start off with the temple pose!" He told the class.

Megan and Gladion straightened themselves so they were directly in front of each other, extending their arms over their heads and leaning forward at their hips until they met each others hands. Slowly they began to forward fold, bringing their elbows, forearms and hands so they rested against each other. They rested equal weight against each other, releasing their chests and stomachs towards the floor.

"Hold for seven breaths, and then slowly walk towards your partner. Bring yourself up to a standing position, back straight, and drop your arms downwards." Kukui instructed, and everyone did so. Now they were inches apart from their partners.

"You know your breath stinks, right?" Megan heard Gladion mutter, causing her to scoff.

"Yours isn't exactly minty fresh either!" She whisper yelled.

"Good job. Now try a twin trees position." Their instructor suggested.

The teens sighed and stood facing the same direction a few feet apart. They Performed the position, as well as a few more before Kukui cut the music completely.

"Awesome work. Now we're going to go solo and do a bit of Zumba."

As soon as they heard 'solo' Megan and Gladion took a large step away from each other, glaring from the corner of their eyes.

Kukui switched the song up to KP's Shake it off, before standing in front of the class and dancing along to the music. The students followed his movements with the beat.

"I stay up too late~" Megan sang along, following each movement perfectly "Got nothin' in my brain~"

"I'll say." Gladion snorted from beside her, earning him a hardcore death glare.

"Do you want a McDonald's or not?"

His smirk fell, and he once again focused on the instructor. Megan 'tch'd

"That's what I thought."

Whatever, he doesn't matter. Hater's gonna hate.
