At the start...

This was getting kind of ridiculous.

Ever since they broke up, which was almost a week ago, neither Megan or Gladion had been seen on campus or even outside for that matter. According to Lillie, Gladion had come home late one night with bags full of food and locked himself in his room. He hadn't been seen, since. You may think he had to take bathroom breaks, but here's the thing; he had his own bathroom in his room! Well anyways, because of this Lillie and her friends assumed that Megan had also locked herself into her apartment.

If they kept this up, they'd be dropped from the course for sure!

Their friends had tried everything, and I mean everything to try and get them out. Asking politely, pleading, bribery, blackmail, banging on the door until they opened it (that one was Hau). It was no use!

I mean, Gladion did go out once to try to speak to Megan- or at least, that's where he said he was going. But when he came back he looked duller than ever, and he didn't even speak to Lillie or his mother let alone tell them what happened.

So yes, it was bad. And it needed to stop.

---

"Gladion, please come out. We're all worried about you."

A soft voice that spoke on the other side of the door, belonging to a concerned mother went unnoticed by the boy she was trying to reach. It's not that he was intentionally ignoring Lusamine, it's just that her voice didn't make it past the loud volume of Evanescence blasting through his headphones. Dull, almost dead green eyes stared up at the ceiling, unmoving; not even blinking in his statue-like state. His hands were resting on top of his stomach, which rose and fell in time with his steady breathing.

Lusamine called out to her son once more only to receive the same treatment. Whether she left or not, Gladion wouldn't know; he didn't even know she was there in the first place.

A stiff hand lifted from his stomach and extended towards the roof, its palm facing downwards so it's owner could stare at it.

Well maybe I would've been better off without bitches like you!!!!

He inhaled sharply before allowing his arm to fall to his side, a painful chuckle emitting from his hoarse throat.

Get out of my sight. Now.

God damn he had never been so afraid of his own voice...

"I'm such a prick..." he gritted, feeling any hope of her forgiving him slip from his grasp. He had messed up. He had crossed the line after entering an uncontrollable fit of rage, caused by her hurtful words spoken with despair.

They were both in the wrong, there was no denying that... But...

How can Gladion not feel the majority of the guilt...

...After he came this close to striking her?

---

(Two days earlier)

Megan stood at her doorway, eyes so wide they'd rival saucers. But why was she so shocked? Maybe it was how dark it had gotten already, or perhaps maybe it was the fact it was raining even though the weatherman said 'clear skies. Or maybe...It was the fact that her ex was standing outside her door, in the dark, and the rain!

Gladion sighed at her unresponsive expression, his hands stuffed in his pockets as he spoke "I know this is rather unexpected."

"Yeah."

He winced "However, I feel like we've had enough time to think... and it's about time we talked."

Megan's frown deepened and she leaned her shoulder against the doorframe, arms crossed over her chest "About what?"

"You know what."

She shrugged "I have a pretty good idea, but I thought I made it clear that I never wanted to speak to you again."

"Without letting me explain what actually happened!" Gladion argued "I figured that after a couple of days you'd be over the shock and would be ready to listen."

"Well, I'm not. In fact, I doubt I'll ever be ready to hear your excuses to give me false hope." She began closing the door "So, yeah, I'd appreciate it if you'd fuck off--"

The movement of the door stopped.

"Yeah, no I'm not doing that." The boy holding it open claimed monotonously before pushing open the door with strength that overpowered Megan's "You're going to let me talk."

"And if I don't?"

"Then you'll be that stubborn brat I thought you are... Do you really want to prove me right?"

CAUTION! He knows too much!

Megan growled at him. He knew she hated it when she proved other people right she was not stubborn, or a brat. And she was gonna prove that to him, even if she desperately wanted to shut the door on him.

"You have five minutes..." The girl muttered, grinding her teeth as she turned her head away "And if you think I'm letting you in then you're delusional af. Make excuses in the rain, or get out of my face."

She was seriously shooting round after round into Gladion's chest, it was getting too painful to even look at her. However, he had five minutes; that was all the time he had to get her to understand what she saw wasn't what it seemed. He didn't want her hating him anymore- especially over a lie.

He took a deep breath, before beginning his well thought out explanation with his hands clenched inside his pockets.

"What you saw wasn't an affair; there was nothing mutual in that kiss. Sadie came onto me when she was certain we would be alone, trying to get me to pursue her and clinging onto me in hope to get me to 'give in'. When she had me backed into a corner, she saw an opening and kissed me when I was most vun-" He paused "-erable... I'm sorry, are you yawning?!"

Megan lowered her hand from her opened mouth and placed it on her hip, staring up at the boy boredly with a pout "Sorry, I lost interest as soon as you said 'wasn't an affair'."

Gladion's mouth dropped open "What the-- You said you'd listen!"

"Actually I said I'd let you talk, I never said anything about listening to your bullcrap."

"Are you joking me?!"

"Jokes are funny," The girl furrowed her brow "There's nothing funny about this situation; A guy trying to manipulate a girl further. In fact I find it rather pathetic, especially for the son of the high and mighty Aether co. chairman."

A hand removed itself from Gladion's pocket, ready to grab her so he could spit into her face. However, he retracted it "You're being seriously unfair, Megan."

She was silent for a moment

"I'm being unfair..." She murmured as her head bowed, her hair shadowing her eyes as she began to shake. Then, in a flash her eyes glossed over with rage as she pointed at the male in front of her, body rigid and face red "I'M BEING UNFAIR?!"

He took a step back.

"You're telling me that after leading me on to the point I actually let my walls down, telling me not to keep secrets even though you were keeping a secret from me about my family, telling me there was no one else and then kissing that SAME girl you told me not to worry about, I'm being UNFAIR?! Oh no, buddy, you have this situation flipped!"

"Megan wait--"

"LET ME SPEAK, AETHER!"

A large grimace spread across Gladion's face. This was gonna hurt...

"You've told me I shouldn't be closed off; that I should confide in people I trust. Well guess what. I trusted you, and see where that got me! Was that your plan from the beginning?!" She screamed "Actually, don't answer! You told me you wanted someone that didn't treat you the way Natalie did, but frankly I can see why she left! You have baggage no one can fucking handle, yet you whine to me about it even though I have my own fucking problems! Sure, I may have felt sorry for you before. But now I say confidently; go fuck your stupid baggage!"

She raked a hand through her hair "You know what, these past few months with you have been the happiest I've been since my father pissed off. But knowing it possibly didn't anything, I wish I could forget it... I wish I didn't find you in the rain and opened up to you... I wish I didn't encourage you to trust me... In fact, I think I can say I wish I never met you."

"You don't mean that..."

"Oh, don't I?! 'Cause I think I do, but if you don't see it yet let's make it clearer for you..." A wicked smile played at her lips "When I said I thought you were just a rich snob, and then admitted I was wrong; I hate admitting I'm wrong. But it turns out, I was right all along! I don't hang around with selfish bastards, I don't hang around with players, and I most definitely don't hang around you anymore! I've opened up my eyes, and now I see that falling for a rich boy was nothing than a big old waste of my time! I would've been better off without you!"

"Well maybe I would've been better off without bitches like you!!!!" Gladion suddenly yelled back. He had finally snapped.

"Oh shut up, high and mighty Aether!"

"Don't make fun of my status! Or my family, because we could literally destroy you!"

"OH, SO NOW YOU PLAY THE 'I'M RICH' CARD!"

"I NEVER HAD TO BEFORE!"

"I knew it..." Megan chuckled bitterly "You really are nothing but a selfish, cold, heart stealing bastard!"

"Shut the fuck up--"

"NO! I HATE YOU!"

That was it.

Gladion, completely taken over with rage raised his hand, his cold furious eyes boring into Megan's as if he didn't even know he was moving. Megan's eyes widened at his position; she wanted to run away, but her feet stayed firmly on the ground.

And then, he swung.

Her eyes snapped shut as she prepared for impact. She felt something, but it wasn't a hard slap. In fact, it was hardly anything. It was something she barely felt against her hair, and when she opened her eyes she soon found out why. Gladion's previously raised hand was dangerously close to her face, his stilled fingertips barely touching her tresses as if he had had been turned into a statue.

And he pretty much had.

As Megan looked up at him he was already looking down at her, but not in anger like he previously was. His eyes were wide with shock, like he was questioning if that was him just now trying to slap her. It was like his power switch had been flipped to off as soon as he realised what he was doing.

However, as soon as he came 'back to life' his hand curled into a fist as he pulled it away from her face violently, unintentionally tugging some strands out in the process making her wince in discomfort. His scowl returned to his face as he shook the hair from his fingertips, his emerald gaze piercing through her making her feel tiny.

"Get out of my sight." He snarled, teeth bared "Now."

"Hold on--"

He grabbed her by the shoulders, fingers digging into her shoulder blades before he pushed her back into her apartment. She stumbled backwards and fell, landing on her butt making her gasp out in shock. When she looked back up at Gladion, he already had his hand on the doorknob.

"Goodbye, Megan."

When I saw you

I knew it was true

That I would fall

In love with you

For four whole months

You loved me too

Now I can't get over you

My heart feels torn

And ripped apart

'Cause I'm right back

At the start...

Inhales....

Okay, here come the excuses on why it took TWO FUCKING WEEKS for me to post.

God, I'm irritated in myself, this chapter isn't even as long as the others. They're all like 2300+ words, and this is 1800+.

I'm sorry that I disappeared, I don't even have a good reason for it. It's rather selfish actually...

It's just that, all my friends are suddenly starting relationships, and they're talking about how great having one is and... They're oblivious to the fact they're rubbing it in my face.

I'm fine being single, in fact I think I own it better than having a relationship with a manipulator... *Flashback*

But still, it got me thinking. When all my friends are married, and have started families and all... Where will I be? Will I be right there with them? Or will I just be that crazy aunt that never settled down...

Ugh, it's to late for this shit. Besides, I'm only 17. I've got college and job hunting to think about, not where I'll be in 20+ years.

I'm sorry for my rant, and I'm sorry for uploading so late. I'll start on the next as soon as possible and hopefully it'll be longer than this one.

So... Sorry for dumping my problems on you, and... um... Cya.
