Accidental encounter

What time was it? How long had it been? He couldn't tell and frankly he didn't care. His eyes could barely stay open as he shakily stood up; taking in his surroundings completely he soon realized his phone was in his hand. Clicking the power button only to realize that it was dead, sighing and walking forward was his next step.

He closed his eyes tightly upon the brightness of the outside, it wasn't too bright but it still hurt to an extent.

His eyes darting around, his office was surprisingly clean? He could have sworn the others had stormed in – his eyes moved over to his door; which was currently hanging off the hinge.

Oh, there was the damage.

"Well. I can't spend my whole day in here. Gotta face the 'people'.." Dandy finally spoke, his voice scratchy and dry; he desperately needed water and fast.

Stumbling towards his door with a groan; he peaked around the corner. It was silent.

Too silent.

It was never silent so he immediately knew something was wrong. He started to slowly walk down the hall, anxiously looking around for any source of life.

"Almost there.. almost there." Dandy held himself, why was he scared? He turned to corner and ran into something .. or someone. Oh well, there goes his quick run to the kitchen for some water.

He looked up and was met with the spontaneous duo, Sprout and Cosmo. "Dandy?.." Dandy deadpanned, of course it was them; they're always in the kitchen. They practically live in it.

He stood up and dusted himself, putting on his signature smile as he stared at the two. "Hello! Sorry for bumping into you, I was just trying to get into the kitchen.. so if you could mov–" Dandy started to say but was interrupted by Cosmo and Sprout staring at him with 'The look'.

"You want me to bake with–" "Since you're heading to the kitchen.. you can help us with a recipe we've been struggling with!" Cosmo wrapped his arm around Dandy's waist while Sprout slightly gripped onto Dandy's waist. Dandy shivered at the touch and felt his face start to heat up, he stared at Cosmo and mentally groaned at the smug face he was pulling.

"Okay, sure but let me get a drink of water first." Dandy pulled away from the two and headed for the fridge; quickly grabbing a small water bottle and chugging it.

He crushed it and threw it into the recycle bin; "Let's do this .. i guess." Dandy sighed – making Cosmo and Sprout stare at each other before fist bumping.

"We're sure you won't regret it! We are the best bakers in town after all!" Sprout clapped his hands together making Cosmo nod his head at every word.

"I'm sure I won't!" Dandy chirped back, the water fueling his energy. Besides, the two were experienced! What could go wrong–

Dandy sat at the dinner table, it was rather empty and boring considering his phone was currently charging.

Now, he thought he'd actually be BAKING but it turns out they wanted him to taste test. Oh well, at least he didn't have to get his hands dirty.

"Okay! We're trying out different flavors together so please tell us how you like it!" Cosmo and Sprout came around the corner – a platter in Cosmo's hands while Sprout walked behind him with a proud expression.

Dandy stared at the covered platter as it was placed on the table. Sprout and Cosmo stared at eachother with half lifted eyes before taking off the top to reveal a huge(ish) cupcake.

"It's a coconut and chocolate mix cupcake with a sort of fidge frosting!" Sprout quickly said; him and Cosmo practically bouncing in place.

"Ohh! Sounds promising!" Dandy stared at the cupcake, it was decorated with small edible stars and glitter. "We're not sure how the combinations will work. So apologies if it tastes bad." Cosmo muttered, scratching his arm and looking at Sprout for comfort.

"Well, I'm not picky so I'm sure it'll taste good." Dandy carefully picked up the cupcake and inspected in further – he watched Sprout and Cosmo's nervous expressions as he pretended to take a bit.

He silently gulped before taking a huge bite – go big or go home, I guess. He put down the rest of the cupcake and chewed whatever was in his mouth.

It was silent for a moment before he smiled and gave a small thumbs up, making Cosmo and Sprout cheer as they ran over to him; bringing him into a group hug.

"We have more for you to taste test so I hope you're ready!" Sprout and Cosmo sprinted out of the room, making Dandy giggle.

"Okay, I'll be waiting!" Dandy looked at his phone, which was at 56%. He could sneak off now but.. he was actually having fun.

"A few more cupcakes couldn't hurt." Dandy shrugged and kicked his feet, excited for what's to come.
