'Another day, another one of brother's runs' I said in my head, watching the landscape pass by in such speed in the car through the tinted window. Just as the limo passed by the school, I can see brother running as fast as he could to the entrance. The limo swerved around before parking in front of the school.
"Adrien, please reconsider. You know what your father wants." Nathalie said, stepping out of the car with the bodyguard/driver as I stayed in the car, watching this whole thing play out once more. "But this is what I want to do." Adrien stated, like this was some 90's rom-com movie.
Then, there was the sound of a pained groan. I peeked my head out of the open door and saw an old man on the ground, trying to reach for his cane, and no person helped up by walked past him like he wasn't there. I can see that the old man was faking it; he could just crawl over to his cane and grab it himself. Adrien, being the foolish boy he is, ran over and helped the old man.
I sighed as I shook me head, sitting back in my seat. Adrien was always hopelessly naive.
The bodyguard, Nathalie, and Adrien made it back into the car and the bodyguard drove away. "Once again, another fail attempt on your end, brother." I said. He sighed in a sad tone in response as I opened up my book about animals.

"Who was the first President of the 5th Republic?" Nathalie quizzed, pacing back and forth. "Everyone thinks it was De Gaulle, but it was actually René Coty before the first elections." Adrien answered in a bored tone. "Excellent, Adrien." She complemented.
That's when a familiar voice spoke up. "Give me a minute would you, Nathalie?" Father requested. "Yes, sir." She said, moving to the side. "You are not going to school. I've already told you." Father scolded. Nathalie must've told him. Hopefully, this is time, it'll get through to him in that thick skull of his.
"But father-" "Everything you need is right here where I can keep an eye on you and your sister. I will not have you outside in that dangerous world." Father stated, to which I personally agree with. "It's not dangerous, father. I'm always stuck in here. Why can't I go out and make friends just like everybody else?" My brother asked. "Because you are not like everyone else; you are my son!" Father shouted. "Continue." He concluded before leaving. "We can leave it there for today if-" Nathalie stopped mid-sentence as Adrien ran out of the dining room.
"He's never going to learn." I said, remembering back then when I was just as naive as him. I stood up from my seat. "Have a good day, Nathalie." I dismissed before walking into my room.
I closed the curtains, on the top floor, before I walked over to the edge before climbing down the latter. I walked over to the curtains and closed them one by one.
Once every window was covered. I walked over to a shelf on the bottom floor and pulled a book until it made a click sound. The book went back into place before the shelf slid open, showing a metal wall with a screen, a microphone, and a scanner.
Knowing the procedure, I stood still. The scanner lit up. "H̷o̵l̷d̸ ̴s̷t̴i̴l̷l̷ ̵f̵o̷r̸ ̵s̶i̵g̷n̵a̴t̸u̶r̸e̷.̸" The computer said before a light scanned down my face before moving back up. "V̵o̸i̷c̸e̶ ̵R̶e̴g̴i̶s̵t̶r̶a̴t̴i̶o̸n̶ ̶R̵e̴q̴u̸i̶r̴e̸d̵:̸ ̷P̵a̵s̶s̵w̸o̸r̵d̸ ̵p̷l̴e̵a̴s̴e̵.̵" The computer said. I leaned down to the microphone before speaking in a very, very dead language that I believe no one can remember.
"👍︎♋︎●︎♋︎❍︎♓︎⧫︎⍓︎ ⬧︎◆︎❒︎◻︎♋︎⬧︎⬧︎♏︎⬧︎ ♏︎❖︎♏︎❒︎⍓︎⧫︎♒︎♓︎■︎♑︎"
"V̴o̸i̴c̴e̴ ̸R̴e̸g̵i̶s̸t̸r̵a̷t̸i̸o̴n̶:̴ ̵C̴o̷n̵f̵i̸r̴m̶e̶d̵.̴ ̷W̷e̵l̴c̵o̴m̵e̶,̶ ̸Y̸/̶n̵.̶" The computer said before the metal wall opened up, revealing an opened cylinder-shaped elevator. I entered before the doors closed behind me, then the metal door, and then the shelf.
I felt the elevator moved down before it moved to the side, and then down again. A minute had passed, and I finally made it to my designation, my lab.
I walked by the sections of plant life, mainly roses and such. My favorite was the blue and lavender roses. One of my experiments here is that I'm trying to make roses have more variety in colors, one of them being the black rose. I activated the watering system for the week so they can continue to thrive; don't want my experiments going to waste, now do we? Once I did that, I walked down the hall and to my most plant grown.
Yep. An apple tree, a(n) f/k/a (Favorite Kind of Apple) tree. I how I had it getting sunlight from all the way down here is through a series of mirrors going up, the main on hidden above the surface. I hummed to myself, plucking an apple off of the tree. I placed it on the examination table. I put on goggles, gloves, coat, tied my hair back, placed any jewelry in a bin before I grabbed a surgical knife. I slowly and carefully cut it opened, worried that it might explode on me like the last time. Luckily, it didn't.
I hummed when I saw the inside, which was a lighter shade of yellow than its skin, which said skin seems to be almost glowing. Failed, but at least it didn't explode this time. I dumped it into the trash bin before I grabbed a vial of liquid, and had it put into a syringe. I walked over to the f/k/a tree and injected the solution into the tree. I then set it back on the counter and moved on to another experiment. This is what I do on the daily: Check up on the f/k/a tree once a day to check the progress of it's apples.
As I was about to get started on the continuation of my rose experiments, I felt small, thundering vibrations, making me lift my head in confusion. "Computer, what's going on?" I ordered.
A TV lowered from the ceiling and showed this rock being outside the front gate of the house, police were already at the scene. But, when they fired their tasers, but the seams of the rock being's body glowed very brightly with a yellow hue as it grew bigger and not in the slightest hurt. "KIM!!" It shouted before picking up a vehicle and threw it.
"Computer, turn on the news channel." I commanded. The screen turned to static before it changed to the new channel. "I'm asking all Parisians to stay home until this situation is under control." The Mayor requested before being bombarded with questions from the press. "As incredible as it seems, it's been confirmed that Paris is indeed being attacked by a supervillain. The police have been struggling to keep the situation under control." The news-anchor lady informed. "Be confident. The strong arm of the law will come crashing down on- I mean, the other arm." The police chief said,
"Hmm... interesting. Computer: Prepare a drone for take-off." I ordered. I grabbed a controller, piloting one of the several drones out to monitor.
Once it was out, it followed behind the stone being, which was heading towards the stadium, making sure that it says out of its line of sight, including this girl following it on bike.

After all that, there was more surprising matters along the way. That there are two superheroes: one with the appearance referencing a black cat, and the other referencing a ladybug. The cat-boy seems to have an ability that destroys anything he touches, which only works once, and the bug-girl conjured up something, that wasn't by choice, and used it to destroy something that caused a person to transform into what the rock being was, which happened to be a black butterfly with purple, glowing highlights.
"What an interesting discovery. It seems like there's a new experiment in order. All I need is to get some more of those butterflies. But how..." I hummed to myself after my drone returned.
I'm watching the news channel, it's topic is about the new heroes, Ladybug and Cat Noir. "So, thanks to this amateur footage, Parisians now know the identities of their heroes." The same lady as before reported. "I am pleased to announce that we will be organizing a huge celebration in honor of our city's new protectors, Ladybug and Cat Noir." The mayor announced.
I turned away from the screen and started designing a machine that will take in those corrupt butterflies without getting affected with their power, unless there has to be something specific for it to actually affect its victim.
That's when the television caught my attention once more. "Just as Paris is about to celebrate the appearance of our two new superheroes, Ladybug and Cat Noir, a new wave of panic has sweeping across the capital as dozens of people are mysteriously transformed into stone monsters. It's simply unbelievable. These victims transformed into stone beings are still like statues, Police are perplexed. What will happen to them? Will they come to life? Or be frozen in time forever?" The news anchor lady questioned.
"... A little more reinforcement wouldn't hurt in this." I hummed before going back to designing.
(The Next Day)
I was back in my room, reading a fantasy book called Thieves of Weirdwood. I've gotten it a while back, but never had the chance to actually read it. Opening up the book, I was introduced to the prologue.

𝒦𝒾𝓃𝑔𝓈𝓅𝑜𝓇𝓉, 𝟣𝟫𝟢𝟩
One light, rainy evening in April, eight-year-old Marie Wallace got the most pleasant surprise of her life–right before she got the worst one
Marie was walking home from her aunt's house when she passed a dark alley and heard a tiny voice.
"Mama."
Marie stopped and stared into the long shadows. The gas lamps had not been lit yet.
"Hello?" she said.
There was no answer.
She was certain it was a little girl's voice she'd heard, pinched and sugary. Marie was not one to leave a helpless child abandoned in an alley, so she carefully stepped around the puddles, venturing deeper between the damp and looming buildings.
"Hello-o?" She said again.
A small figure peeked out from behind a packing crate. The figure was no taller than Marie's knee. It had big blue eyes and shiny pink lips and blond ringlets that tumbled around the collar of its silk dress.
A chill ran up Marie's spine. It was a doll.
But her doll at home couldn't move like this. Sure, it blinked when she tipped it over and said "Mama" when she pulled the string on its back. But it certainly never walked around on its own buckled shoes.
The doll stared at Marie with its big blue eyes and then stiffly reached behind its back and pulled on the ring that dangled between its shoulders.
"Ma-ma," the doll said again in a warbled voice.
Marie took a step back, heart leaping in her chest. She squinted behind the packing crates to see if someone was pilling puppet strings to make the doll move. She checked the nearby windows for some sad little girl missing her dolly.
Marie was alone.
The doll's arms rotated upward like it wanted to be picked up. Marie blinked at it. This was everything she'd ever wanted. A walking, talking doll.
"You poor thing," she said, and forgetting her shoes, sloshed deeper into the alley. She scooped up the doll and held it to her chest. Its porcelain skin was cold through the silk of its dress. "Let's get you home. Mother will be excited to meet you."
As Marie stepped back into the street, she felt the doll's head rotate on her shoulder.
"There, there," Marie said as its porcelain lips placed a kiss on her neck.

The Oakers found Marie later that night.
She still had a pulse. Her breath steamed through clenched teeth. But she couldn't move. Her skin was hard and shiny, and her mouth was frozen in a grin. She didn't so much as blink.
One of the Oakers shivered. "In all my years on the force, this is the strangest thing I've seen. That smile's gonna haunt me for months."
The other Oaker bent and lifted one of the girl's frozen shoulders. "Gor, she's gold. Stiff too. Almost like porcelain. Good thing she landed on this packing straw. Elsewise she might've shattered to pieces Just like a... well, y'know."
The first Oaker hefted Marie's other shoulder. I've half a mind to bring her home to my Leah. She's been begging for a doll, and them things is expensive."
The second Oaker chuckled. "Quiet, you. This girl might still be able to hear us. Let's get her to the hospital."
It wasn't until they pushed Marie upright like a plank that she finally blinked, and a faint "Ma-ma" whimpered through her smiling teeth. The Oakers glanced at each other uneasily.
Down the alley they heard the pitter-patter of porcelain shoes. And giggling, pinched and sugary.

Just as I turned the page to the first chapter, Nathalie opened the door. "Y/n?" She called out. "Yes?" I replied. "Have you seen your brother?" She asked. "No. But, without a doubt, I bet he ran off to that school again." I answered, shaking my head as I started reading the first chapter.
I then heard my bedroom door close, causing me to sigh in disappointment. Why would he want to go there? Is it because Chole's there? I hate her so much. I've told my brother all that she's done to me, and he said that he would talk to her about it, but it never works. Does he enjoy my suffering when she's around. This is why me and my brother are no longer close as we used to be. Because he gets associated with people like her, cruel, selfish, and such. I remember having the same morals and desires as him, but the people around me didn't like me, they despised me, but they loved my brother.
That's when I gotten a notification on my phone, and the stone beings are now moving, and it seems like the kid from before got corrupted again.
I jogged over to a shelf, put in the voice recognition and got scanned, went to my lab and grabbed the device I've made to capture whatever that butterfly thing is. I went back up and started putting together a disguise just in case someone catches me in the act.
Once everything was put together and I had all my supplies, I opened my window, and flew out of there.
(Time-skip)
I found out where the main stone being was, which was on the Eifel Tower, and once I was close enough, I closed my wings and started climbing it in a spot that was away from view.
Once I was close enough, the stone monster started coughing and spluttering until a bunch of black butterflies exited out of his mouth, causing him to fall backwards due to exhaustion. The butterflies formed a head and started speaking through them.
"People of Paris, listen carefully... I am Hawkmoth. Ladybug, Cat Noir, give me the Ladybug earrings and the cat ring now! You've done enough damage to these innocent people." He said. Then, there was the sound of clapping. "Nice try, Hawkmoth, but we know who the bad guy is. Let's not reverse the roles here. Without you, none of these innocent victims would be transformed into villains. Hawkmoth, no matter how long it takes, we will find you and you'll hand us your Miraculous!" She stated before she ran over to the Eifel Tower, Yo-Yo at the ready as I pulled my machine off of my back and aimed at the big, negative mass.
She started capturing some of the evil butterflies, until they exploded and spread, which gave me time to secretly suck them up into my machine, and it seems to be a very good amount. I placed the machine back on my back before Ladybug caught the last butterfly.
"Let me make this promise to you. No matter who wants to harm you, Ladybug and Cat Noir will do everything in our power to keep you safe." She declared, before opening up her yo-yo, and a swarm of bright white butterflies shot out and scattered all across Paris.
3rd pov
You started climbing down from where you were and heading to where you landed. Just as your ran across, Ladybug heard the footsteps and saw a shadowy figure, but then her attention was immediately pulled away as Stoneheart rose back up, giving Y/n the distraction she needed to make a clean escape and fly out of the area.
Y/n's pov
(The next day)
Me and my brother were in the limo, and it parked just outside of the front of the school Adrien was always trying to run to, and why was I even here?
"You disobeyed me, Adrien. You see that school?" Father said on the screen. "Yes, father." Adrien sighed in sadness. "You will never, I say never, go back there again," Father said. "Father-" "without your bodyguard." Father stated, which caught me off-guard. "He'll drop you and your sister off and pick you both up. Nathalie will organize your new schedules. You'll continue music, Chinese, fencing and your photo shoots." Father said, leaving me with a wide-eyed and dropped jaw in surprise, looking like a fish out of water.
"Thank you, Nathalie! Thank you, father!" Adrien exclaimed in joy before he opened the car door, dragging me along into the building.
(Time-skip)
I begrudgingly followed behind my brother, hating every second of it. I followed behind him into the classroom, and without hesitation, I walked up to the very back of the classroom.
The one at the very back didn't split down the middle but was one giant, long table, and only had three occupants.
The first guy had his black, shoulder-length hair to the right side while the other, the left side, was shaved off, a hoop earring on his left ear, had black, liquid eyeliner going down his cheeks from the corner of his eyes. He wore a dark/dulled blue jacket with a fluffy hood, and a black turtleneck.
The second guy has dulled greyish-red hair that was in a messy bun, a bandage wrapping around his right eye to the top right of his head. He wore the same colored jacked as the first guy, but the hood wasn't as fluffy, and he also had a white t-shirt.
And the third, and final, guy, had his hood over his head, which didn't have any fluff. His hair was a dull but light shade of purple. He also had the same-colored jacket as the other two, but also had the same t-shirt as the second guy.
I sat in the space that was in the middle, which was between the third and first guy, the second guy was on the first guy's left.
The first guy spotted me as I made it up there and waved with a smile. I waved back with a small smile before I sat down.
(Time-skip)
I walked to the entrance and saw that it was raining, sadly I didn't bring an umbrella. I cursed under my breath for this mistake. Deciding that it doesn't matter, and walked forward, but didn't feel any drops of water. I looked up to see an umbrella was above me; looking to the side, was the first guy from before.
"You know you shouldn't walk in the rain? You can get sick." He said with a cheeky grin. "Yes, but it was a risk I was willing to take." I said, looking forward. "Well, I can walk you to your car. A gentlemen thing to do." He said with a mock bow, the last sentence with a funny British accent. I snickered at the act. "Sure, but you'll be the one getting sick though." I replied as we walked forward. "It's a risk I'm willing to take for a queen such as yourself." He said with a smirk. I laughed. "You're quite the charmer, aren't you?" I question. "What can I say? What's a queen without a knight as her pawn?" He said once we reached the car. "How chivalrous of you." I said, opening the door, sat down, and closed the window.
Before he could leave, I rolled down the window. "I never caught your name. I'm Y/n." I said. "It's Kiran, but you can call me the man of your dreams~" He said with a wink. "Don't push it." I playfully scowled. "Alrighty then. See ya later, princess." He said with a wave. "See you later indeed." I said before rolling the window back up.
I scooted over to the other end of the cab and continued to read my book.
