The Patriarchy

To understand why we do not live in Patriarchy, we must first examine what Patriarchy is.

Well, here are a couple definitions I found

Google's definition: a system of society or government in which the father or eldest male is head of the family and descent is traced through the male line.

a system of society or government in which men hold the power and women are largely excluded from it.

a society or community organized on patriarchal lines.

Merriam Webster's Definition: [A] social organization marked by the supremacy of the father in the clan or family, the legal dependence of wives and children, and the reckoning of descent and inheritance in the male line; broadly :  control by men of a disproportionately large share of power

2:  a society or institution organized according to the principles or practices of patriarchy <For 20 years the country was ruled as a patriarchy.>

Urban Dictionary's Definition (just for laughs, of course): A rhetorical device which props up feminist ideology by making it easy to impose a state of collective guilt upon half the human race, namely the male half. Upon closer examination, we find that 'patriarchy' as a concept is either A.) Coherent only when too narrowly defined to be broadly useful, or B.) INcoherent when it IS broadly enough defined to be broadly useful.

Feminist ideologues promote the idea of patriarchy nonetheless, because they are banking upon the average person's lack of analytical discrimination -- rather like slipping a 'mind rape drug' into the punchbowl of common discourse. You might wake up with a weird feeling, but you have no idea that you've been screwed.

When radical feminists talk about 'patriarchy', it is actually a code word for Male Power of ANY sort whatsoever. So long as any man on earth has anything that could even vaguely be described as power (up to and especially the power of self-control), they wll say that patriarchy still exists, and that feminism's work is not finished. They want feminism to have a job for a good long time....

XDDDDDDD

Anyways...

Based on Google and Merriam's very similar definitions, we can infer that Patriarchy is basically defined by a society where males are the family heads and leader (males control everything).

However, this simply isn't true.

Evidence:

-Many women run companies. My mother is a floral designer and she used to do stuff for a company called "Watabe." The CEO was female!

-Women can run for president. If we lived in a patriarchy, this would not be so.

-Women can have any job they desire. This wouldn't be the case in a patriarchy (think colonial america, in which Women only did things like cook, clean, and other mediocre chores). Nowadays, females can do anything! XD isn't it great!

Now, let's digress.

We have to acknowledge that there are a lot of close-minded individuals out there who believe in a more patriarchal way of thought. It wouldn't be too bold to say that there are powerful men out there who are sexest, but the simple truth still stands.
