"Hey dad."
"Hello princess. How was the day?" My dad was sitting on the couch and watching basketball match. I joined him and grabbed a handful of popcorn from the bowl which was in his hand.
"Eventful."
"Tell me about it." He paused the match and looked at me.
"Well for a start I am not going tomorrow with Chaz anymore."
"Wait. What?" My dad sounded confused. "Did you two fight?"
"Relax father. He is taking Irelene..."
"Stop." My father said while motioning me to stop. "Did he dump you for Irelene?" My father said with a hint of anger in his voice.
"Sort of." I thought to myself. "Dad they are a couple. Obviously he will go with his girlfriend."
"Oh... Then who are you going with?"
"Aaron."
My dad smiled on hearing Aaron's name. He really likes him. "Aaron is a nice guy."
"Yes he is." I smiled on recollecting what he did for me earlier today. I looked up and saw dad smiling at me.
"Daddy. We are just friends." I said with a huff. He laughed.
"Aww. You are such a child."
"Where is mom?"
"She went shopping with Kate. She will be here soon."
"Okay. I will go to my room."
"Okay. By the way Amy is upstairs."
"Okay." I went to my room then decided to meet Amy first.
I knocked on Kris's door.
"Hey Kris. Can I come in?"
"Yup."
"Hey Amy." Amy was sitting on bean chair and Kris was downloading something from internet.
"Hey Kay." Amy had started to call me KAY.
"Since when did you start knocking sis?"
"Since you brought girl up in here." Amy laughed.
"Am I really the first girl he brought here?"
"Yeah besides me."
Amy raised eyebrows at Kris and he blushed.
"So what is going on with you two?" They both looked at me in shock. Clearly they hadn't expected me to ask them this question.
"What?" "Nothing." Kris and Amy said at the same time. I laughed and decided to drop the matter for now.
"What are you wearing tomorrow?" Amy asked.
"Umm. I haven't brought the dress yet. I am going for shopping tomorrow with Jen and Irelene."
"Okay. Can I come with you guys tomorrow?"
"Yeah no problem. I will love your opinion."
"Cool. We will have fun. And speaking of Irelene. Is she the same Irelene who was Aaron's girlfriend?"
"Correct."
"Are they still...?"
"Oh no. No. No."
"What is with the three no's?" I laughed.
"Sorry didn't notice that. They are not together and I don't think there is any chance left."
"Why? Not that I care." I raised my eyebrows. "I mean I care for my brother but I don't like Irelene. I was never fond of her even though I had never met her before."
"Well, she is dating Chaz."
"What?" Kris and Amy said at the same time. I wasn't aware that Kris had been listening all this time.
"Yeah."
"But you were going with Chaz right?" Amy asked.
"Yeah not anymore. He is taking his girlfriend." 'HIS GIRLFRIEND'. It was still painful to say that.
"Then who are you going with?" It was Kris who asked this time.
"Aaron."
"What?" Amy shouted.
"Whoa. That was loud."
"Sorry. Actually just yesterday he told me that he wasn't going."
"Yeah it was true till he decided to go today."
"Tell me everything." Amy demanded, excitement evident in her voice. I told her the whole story and she was listening with wide eyes at the beginning which was soon replaced by smile when she heard of her brother's noble deed.
"Wow. My brother is... great." She was very impressed with Aaron.
"Yes he is. He is my Knight in shinning armor. I am really grateful to him."
"You are worth it darling."
I hugged her.
"Tomorrow I am going to make you look like a princess that is going to blow my brother's mind off." I laughed.
"I am counting on that." She gave me a mischievous smile.
"That was a joke. We are just friends." I said quickly.
She chuckled.
"Oh honey. That is what they all say." I rolled my eyes and smiled.
I was finally in my room. I sat on my bed and thought of the day's events. I cried a little but I sobered up quickly
thanks to Aaron. My heart was filled with gratitude more than it was filled with pain.
My phone was glowing. It was Sam.
"Hey buddy."
"Hey." I answered.
"You okay?"
"Surprisingly yes."
"Good to know. I left you like twenty text messages. Where were you? I was worried." Now he was angry.
"Sorry. My phone was on silent mode. I was with Amy."
"Oh. Then it is okay."
"What is going on?"
"I was playing Assassin's Creed."
"Cool."
"Yeah. You weren't crying. Were you?"
"A little."
"Seriously Kayla? Why are you wasting your precious tears?"
"Eww cheesy." He laughed. "I needed to cry a little bit. I feel better now and now I am done crying."
"That the spirit. By the way Jen was worried about you. She called you many times."
"She is gonna kill me. Isn't she?"
"Yup."
"You tell her the reason and I will talk to her tomorrow. Till then her anger would be subsided."
"Okay ma'am."
"Bye."
"Bye."
I checked my messages. There were twenty messages and three missed calls from Sam. Ten missed calls and sixteen messages from Jen and six missed calls from Aaron.
Aaron: WHERE ARE YOU?
Me- SORRY. WAS WITH AMY AND THEN SAM CALLED.
Aaron: OKAY. I WAS WORRIED.
Me- SERIOUSLY? YOU COULD HAVE COME HERE THEN.
Aaron: SHALL I COME THEN?
Me- LOL. NOT ANYMORE. I WANT TO GET SOME BEAUTY
SLEEP.
Aaron: YOU WILL LOOK BEAUTIFUL EITHER WAY DARLING.
Me- WHAT IS WITH YOU AARON?
Aaron: NOTHING. WHAT DID I SAY? I AM JUST ACTING THE PART BABY.
Me- LOL. STOP IT AARON.
Aaron: OKAY I WILL. YOU OKAY. RIGHT?
Me- YESSSS SIR.
Aaron: GOOD. I WILL SEE YOU TOMORROW.
Me- YEAH SURE. BYE.

After sometime I drifted off to sleep.
