Chapter 7
As I fell through the fresh air, I could feel my fur being pulled back. My eyes watered and stung.
Sometimes I hated my life.
But I didn't want to die yet.
I twisted and fought against the sharp currents of air until my feet were pointed at the ground.
Hopefully this would stop me from dying, maybe actually keep me alive.
I flew for what seemed an eternity, although it was really only mere seconds. I almost fell asleep, I don't know how I could, though, seeing as I was about to plummet to my death.
I blinked my eyelids shut just to jolt them open as I slammed against the ground. Wait... No. Not ground. Water.
There hadn't been water when I was falling... was there? Was I really dead, and my mind was just trying to sculpt fantasy into reality? No, that couldn't be it. I was very well alive.
Lost in my train of thoughts I deeply breathed in.
That was a mistake.
I started to choke on the thick water that had been sucked into my now burning lungs. I opened my eyes, to see nothing but a swirling mass of mud and debris. My eyes stung and I squeezed them shut.
I weakly paddled towards the surface of the water.
When I broke the surface, I tried to breathe.
A revolting feeling was in my lungs. The burning of water. I hacked loudly. The water seeped up my throat as I coughed, which made my throat feel like rough sandpaper was stuck inside it.
I hold finally breathe. I breathed in as deeply as possible. I needed it. I had just escaped death.
As I pulled myself onto the coarse sand, I breathed even more deeply.
Rustling.
Crackling.
What was it?
I looked to the bushes to see something terrible. Even more terrible then the snake cats, worse ten the bat.
It was the leader of all evil things.
It was Night of Doom.
