Hayoon walked back and forth, fiddling with her phone. She then texted him.

She thought that he would be sleeping because it was night in America, but just a few seconds later she sent him the message, he texted her back.

With that, Hayoon went on with her day.

It was 11 at night, and Hayoon was wide awake studying for the statistics test that they were having the next day. Jaehyun didn't text her this whole time.

Just as she was about to turn the page of her book, she heard her phone ring.

She looked at the caller ID and sighed. It was Jaehyun. She picked it up.

'Hello?' She said.

'Hey...were you sleeping?' Jaehyun asked.

'No...I was...studying. Got a test tomorrow.' She said.

'Oh, make sure to get some rest before the test.' He said.

'Yeah...um...did you sleep?' She asked.

'Yeah, I just woke up.' He said. 'You...wanted to tell me something?'

'Oh, yeah...yeah.' She sighed. 'Jaehyun...I...I don't know how to say this...'

'Its alright...take your time.' He said.

'Jaehyun...look...I'll come straight to the point.' She said, massaging her temples. 'I miss you. I really do...you haven't been texting me these days, and-'

'Hayoon, I was busy.' Jaehyun said monotonously.

'I know...but you read my message, right? You could just text me that you were busy.' She said. 'It made me feel as if...I did something wrong...or you fell out of love with me.'

'You're overthinking.' He scoffed.

'I know...I know I am, but-'

'Hayoon, if this is what you're gonna talk about...I'm hanging up because I don't have much time to listen to this.' He raised his voice. 'Its your habit to overthink every situation.'

'Jaehyun...' She frowned. 'You're supposed to be reassuring me in this situation.'

'What?' He snapped. 'You're annoying, Hayoon.' He said that and hung up.

She couldn't believe him. What had gotten into him? She grabbed her hair and pulled hem in frustration.

She sniffled, and wiped the tears she didn't know were already falling.
