Katherine's POV

Turning left , turning right , Going down then going back up.. Ugh I can't sleep , i just can't !

It is five in the morning and i am still not able to sleep, i mean how would i sleep after everything happening.

"I killed him.. I killed Chase.. I killed him.."

Ashton's words kept replaying in my head over and over.

I knew that he killed him , of course i do, but hearing the truth from his mouth was way much harder than I thought it would be , it left me speechless, i just kept staring at him , trying to digest what he had said.

He drifted to sleep directly after , he was so wasted or he would never say something like this , but would he remember tomorrow that he told me this ?

I get up from my bed and went out for a cup of water , passing by the living room , Ashton was still laying on the couch , he is still sleeping, i can hear him snoring.

I went beside him, his hand was placed at his forehead, his eyes closed , his brows were furrowed, and  the blood around his wounds was getting dry.

I wanted to get something and clean his wounds , but no , not this time , i have to stop caring , stop being nice especially to him.

But I can't help but wonder what happened to him ?

It is not that i care or something, i am just wondering !

Yeah just wondering..

Ugh I am so confused , so confused from everything happening lately, i still want to know why he went to the grave yesterday, why he got so drunk after and why his voice was full with regret when he said those words.

I saw him shifting in his sleep , I directly backed away , i don't want him to wake up and see me staring at him , that's so creepy.

His movement made the blanket fall on the ground, I directly grabbed it and leaned closer to place it over his body.

Okay , why in hell I didn't leave it on the ground and let him freeze to death ?

Thinking of that i let it slip from my hand to the ground and went away heading toward my room. Maybe I'll get some sleep now.

Reaching my door , i let out a frustrated sigh before going back again and placing the blanket over his body.

Why you have to be so nice Katherine, why ??

"You will be the end of me one day." I mumbled angrily on my way back to my room.

My phone started buzzing under my pillow, waking me up, i opened my eyes but regret it directly when the bright light hit my eyes, I groaned and pulled the blanket over my face.

And then my phone started ringing again , okay i am going to kill whoever is calling me now.

I placed my hand under the pillow to shut down this damn thing .

Where the hell is this fuckîn thing ?

"Just stop ringing." I groaned trying to find the phone , my eyes were still closed , i am so lazy to open them.

The ringing sound is driving me crazy, tracing my hand again under the pillow , i still can't find it.

I couldn't register what happened or how it happened, i just felt my butt hitting the ground with the blanket still covering me.

"Ahh !" I cried in pain , well actually it was more like screamed in pain.

The door of my room opened directly and i heard footsteps coming closer.

"What the hell happened ?" Ashton said while trying to remove the blanket away from my face.

I looked at him , his face more clean now , he looked like he had just took a shower , his hair was still wet.

"I fell from the.. Uhhhh why you are naked ?!." I screamed the last part when I noticed he was just wearing a boxer, just a boxer.

Oh my god ! I directly placed my hand over my eyes.

"You've never heard of something called clothes before." I shouted at him my hand still covering my eyes.

"Well if you didn't scream like that , i would've wore some clothes." He said irritated.

"Ugh just get out of here." I shouted again which just earned a chuckle from him.

"What is so funny now ?" I asked exasperated.

"You are so innocent for your own good Katherine ." He said chuckling again.

He is mocking at me , the nerve of this man !!

I opened one of my eyes and tried to just look at his face but i regret it directly when i noticed how close his face was.

My heart started racing in my chest, i bit my lip and his eyes traveled from eyes to my lips, i can feel my cheeks getting warmer and warmer.

Then he looked up and a smirk made its way to his lips as if he knows what i was thinking about.

I placed my hand on his chest to push him away , and hell i wish I didn't.

His skin was so warm , and the moment i touched it , i felt sparks of electricity running in my body , and one more second i am sure my heart will pop out of my chest.

I directly removed my hand , and tried to stand up but then stumbled by the blanket and fell down on my butt again.

Can this day get anymore worse ?

"You are so clumsy." Ashton said with an amused expression earning a death glare from me.

"And you are a jerk" I mumbled with a low voice.

"I heard you." He said raising an eyebrow.

"I will leave for some work now , you stay do whatever you want but be ready by eight." He said standing up and i averted my gaze directly not wanting to look at his body.

"Wait, why I should be ready at eight,where are we going ?" I asked snapping my head in his direction.

"We are going to a party , and you will be my date."
He said casually before he started walking toward the door.

My eyes widened at his words, "Wait, what ??".

"It is a business party, the owner of the Perk's Hotel series is throwing it and because of our new deal i have to be there , and you being my assistant should be there too." He explained then continued walking.

He is the rudest person ever, can't he just stay until we finish talking.

"Why you always tell me important things at the last minute ?" I asked annoyed.

"Just be ready." He said before closing the door behind him.

"I hate you." I mumbled.

"Heard you." He said back.

Damn i really hate him !

I looked into my bag to see if i have an outfit that would suit a party like that , but to my awesome luck , i had nothing !

Great , this day is just great from the beginning..

"Ughh" I let a frustrated sigh before throwing myself on the bed.

"Wow ! You look hot , this is the one , you should definitely buy it." Cara squealed when i get out from the changing room.

I picked a black and white gown , the dress is sleeveless and floor sweeping, it was backless and had a unique pattern , i liked it , i really did , it gave this feminine and flawless look but when it comes to such parties i always have doubts.

"Yeah i like it, but you know this party will be full with billionaires and.." I wasn't able to continue because the girl i call my best friend interrupted me.

"Just shut up and buy it ."

Ladies and gentlemen That is Cara's way of telling me that it is super good for this party.

Well yeah After that stupid jerk left , I directly called Cara for an emergency situation and we went shopping since i have nothing to wear for this damn party.

I hate parties , I've always did , but i can see how this party will be the worst because I'll be going with that jerk and ofcourse it'll be so boring since i know no one there.

"You know what." I said smiling when an amazing idea hit my head.

"Yeah ?" Cara asked while looking at shoes trying to pick a one that would suit the dress.

"I think you should come with me to the party." I said.

She just glared at me "Are you stupid, i am not invited , how would i go ?"

"I saw the invitation card in the morning before coming and it said you can bring plus two." I looked at her with my puppy eyes hopping she would accept.

"Yeah as if Ashton would really love to take me after i slapped him." She said.

"I'll ask him." I said before grabbing my phone and dialing Ashton's number.

He answered after the third ring, "What do you want?" He asked irritated.

"Well hey to you too." I replied back.

This jerk has no manners.

"Katherine what do you want , i don't have time i am busy." He said with the same annoyed tone.

"Look i wanted to ask if i can bring my friend to the party today ?" I asked crossing my fingers hoping he will accept.

"Okay." He said directly.

"Please it is just i know no one there and I'll be bored and.." I started to explain trying to convince him and then when I noticed he just said okay, "Wait , did you just say okay?"

"Yes, can i go now?" He said still irritated.

"Yeah yeah sure , thank you , bye." I said and hung up before he changes his mind.

"Okay lets pick a dress for you too." I said with a big smile dragging Cara with me to pick a dress for her too.

When we finished I wanted to call Ashton tell him that i will go with Cara because i'll stay at her place to do my makeup and hair but then decided to send him a text instead , i don't want to hear his stupid voice.

To: Jerk :/

'I wont come back to the hotel today , I'll go to my friend's place to get ready , so i'll meet you at the party.'

From : Jerk :/

'Send me your friend's address.'

Even in the messages he just orders me around, i rolled my eyes and sent the address to him.

'Be ready at eight'

"Controlling jerk." I mumbled before locking my phone and getting inside the car.

Cara just finished her magic make up work, i looked in the mirror and WoW !

Damn her she always know how to make me look beautiful, she tied my hair in a ponytail, and the makeup was so simple and classy.

"I am amazing i know." Cara said while making final touch ups for her make up.

She looked so beautiful too, she was wearing a simple strapless black gown , her curls were loosened falling over her shoulders.

I opened my phone to check the time, there was two missed calls from Caleb ; shît I didn't notice it was on silent.

I was going to dial his number, but Jerk started calling me , "Hello" i answered.

"I am downstairs in the lobby , come." He said without even saying hello back or anything.

"Okay coming." I replied back.

"Don't make me wait."

The nerve of this man.

"I said i am coming." I said before closing my phone.

"Car you finished ? He is here." I said taking my purse and taking one last glance at myself , i don't know why but i was waiting for Ashton to see me like this, like i want to see his reaction.

What the hell Katherine ?

Seriously what the hell !

I shook my head to kick these stupid thoughts and went down with Cara beside me.

I went out of the elevator , i looked around searching for Ashton.

"He is there ." Cara said , i turned my head and saw him standing beside the receptionist. He is wearing a black tux and a white shirt dress underneath . He doesn't look so bad though.

He always wears a suit, but today he looks a bit different, i think it is his hair, any way he still look ugly.

Not so ugly though, but yeah still ugly.

I went toward him , i poked him on the shoulder to grab his attention, he directly turned around, his eyes traveled down my body then up and held mine in an intense gaze, i stared back at his eyes and then remembered what happened yesterday, i have to ask him about yesterday, i will  definitely ask him later ,maybe when we come back.

Cara cleared her throat to grab our attention, remind me to thank her later.

Ashton's head snapped toward her and then his eyes widened ,"You?" He asked pointing his finger toward her ,his expression changed into an angry one.

"Yes me ." Cara said faking a smile . " I knew you would be so excited to see me." She said sarcastically.

Damn Cara , when she will understand he doesn't tolerate sarcasm.

He clenched his jaw and glared at her and she glared back.

"Okay lets go." I said before these two attack each others.

Ashton started walking away I followed him and Cara following behind us.

"Why is she here?" He asked irritated.

"I can hear you." Cara said behind us.

This girl doesn't know when to shut up.

"Can we just go." I said to Ashton then mouthed 'Shut up' to Cara, she just shrugged and kept walking.

This evening is going to be tougher than I thought !

The whole ride , we all kept silent except for Cara she would always say something or throw a comment , Ashton would just glare at her , i swear if it wasn't for me , he would've thrown her out of the window.

We finally arrived and I couldn't be more thankful, the tension in the car was killing me and these two are acting like children.

We walked through a hall before arriving to the main door , there were security man standing there , When they saw Ashton they just opened the door widely giving us space to step in.

We went inside and the place was breathtakingly beautiful, it has a blue dim light illuminating in the giant room and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling , i swear I can't afford one of these even if i sold myself.

I Can't believe i just said that..

The other half of the place was empty , i think it is were they will serve dinner because of the tables, the half where we're standing is huge and elegant and it even have a dance floor.

There were a lot of people , old and young , men and women all wearing elegant dresses, holding glasses of champagne or wine in their hands.

Damn this man is so rich for affording for such a place.

Some people started coming toward us when they noticed Ashton and i found it my chance to escape away.

I took Cara's hand and dragged her away with me , she was also staring at the place in awe.

"Wow this is amazing ! I've never been to such an elegant party." She said still looking around her, i kept on dragging her behind me.
I wanted to stand far away from Ashton.

I was walking when suddenly i collided with something or more like someone , because i felt his hand holding me preventing my clumsy ass from falling.

"Watch where you're going beautiful." He said and oh that voice.

Oh my god , i know this voice.

I looked up with wide eyes , he looked at me with his smoky dark green eyes. He winked.

"Missed me ?" He asked wearing genuine smile and I couldn't help but smile back.

Damn of course i missed him !

"Caleb ! You're here."

Sorry for not updating earlier , but i was so sick , and i am still sick so the chapter may be not that good , but i hope you will like it 😊
