Katherine's POV

"Come to my office" Ashton's voice echoed snapping me from my work.

Taking my small notepad, i headed toward his office , thinking if he ever heard of a word called 'Please' or something like that.

He just order people around.. That's all he knows..

Knocking on the door , i entered after i heard him mutter 'come in'.

I reached his desk , his eyes snapped up looking at me for a while before he started talking.

"I want you to cancel all the meetings and interviews for the next week." He said making me confused by his sudden decision but then he continued "I am going on A business trip to Columbia. "

Oh great ! One week with no Ashton , that is a relief.

And it will give me time to go more around things over her , i may find other ideas that would benefit our plan.

But my happy bubble didn't last long, because..

"You can leave now , so you can rest and pack. l'll pick you at 7:00 pm" he said making my eyes widen.

"W-what ?" I stuttered.

He just looked at me raising his eyebrow in the process.

"Pick me up and go where ?" I questioned still confused.

"To the airport." He said in matter-of-a-fact tone.
"Your my personal assistant, of course you are going with me." He continued with the same casual tone.

"E-excuse me !" I think my voice's tone was higher than it should be.

And then realization hit me..

He is going to Columbia...

And he wants me to go with him...

Alone with him...

For a week...

To Colombia..

To the place where it all started.. And where it all ended..

"I C-cant , i cant go !" No way in hell i can go.
He looked at me with an irritated expression not satisfied by my words.

"I have important things to do here , i cant leave suddenly for a week." I said trying to find an excuse. "And you cant tell me something like that in the last minute." I finished but the moment i looked at his face i wanted to take it all back.

He stood up and went from behind his desk to stand beside me, his face showing anger and irritation.

"What? Are you questioning my orders Miss Katherine ? Have you forget that you work for me. I don't care what important things you have , i don't care if you cant leave your boyfriend for a week.." He paused his voice was low but the way he spoke sent shivers down my spine, his acrid tone made me want to set in the corner and cry.

"B-but.." I wasn't able to continue.

"No buts" he shouted.
"Unless you don't want this job anymore."

I would be lying if i said the bitterness in his tone didn't affect me, his intimating personality always manages to scare me.

And i cant get fired now , i need to finish what i started , so i have to accept and go with him.

I nodded my head unable to utter any word due to his closeness.

He went back to his desk , i took it as my cue to storm the hell out of here.

I was angry , i was fuming , and i hate it , i hate how he makes me afraid , i hate how easily he can affect me like this , i hate him so much.
I let my anger out on the files placed on my desk throwing them away.

"Wow wow , calm down sweetheart !" And we are back again..

I looked up seeing an amused Alex standing in front of me smirking..

So we are back to old witty Alex. Great ! Just great..

I didn't bother to reply so i continued gathering my stuffs trying to ignore that lame excuse of a human standing in front of me.

I slammed my laptop to close it not caring what damage i have caused.

"Wohaa sweetheart ! Calm down , poor laptop don't let your anger on him." He said stepping closer.

And here we go , another reason to be angry.

I went closer and grabbed him from his collar not caring about anything.

"Don't call me sweetheart again ! Or i will let my anger on your balls next time." I said sternly my voice raising with every word.

His eyes widened, surprised by my action and words.

I don't blame him , i was surprised too.

But i don't give a damn now . I cant let my anger on that 'someone' inside , so i will let it out on anyone else.

"Okay i am sorry , just calm down." Alex said holding my hand gently removing it from his collar.

We kept silent for a while , i was taking deep breathes trying to calm myself while Alex was just standing staring at me.

"What is wrong swee.." He said and i raised my eyebrow.
He cleared his throat " I mean what happened ?" He said correcting himself.

"Nothing" i said taking my purse, heading toward the elevator to get out of this place.

But i wasn't able to make my dramatic exit , because Alex grabbed my hand from the back, making me turn my head, then he released it , and what he said next was the stupidest thing i've ever heard.

"Don't take what he says seriously , he is cold like this for many reasons.." He paused for a moment " but deep inside he has the kindest heart ever."

I almost laughed at what he said.

Kindest heart..

A Kind heart wont be even able to let another heart stop beating..

I shook my head at how stupid it sounded that Ashton have a kind heart.
Yeah you almost tricked me Alex..

"See you later." I said entering the elevator getting out of here as soon as possible.

While driving i couldn't get my mind of the fact that i am going back to Columbia , even if it is just for one week.

I didn't have the courage to go back for the last two years, i don't know how i am supposed to handle this.

It is the place were i lost my parents , my brother, and my Chase ..

The place where our story started and in that same place our story ended.

Parking my car , i went directly inside the building because of the heavy raining.

"Is Caleb available ?" I asked the receptionist once i arrived to the last floor.

"Wait a second Miss Katherine, i'll ask him." She said before dialing him.

"Mr. Conner , Miss Katherine is here , she wants to see you." She hanged up after that.

"You can enter Miss" Once she said that i went directly to his office.

"Katherine ! I told you to come whenever you want , don't bother to ask the receptionist." Caleb said the moment i entered the office.

"I didn't want to bother you , maybe you are busy." I said setting on the chair in front of his desk.

He went from behind the desk and seated himself in front of me.

"I will never be busy when it comes to you." He said making me smile for the first time since morning.

"So why you are not at work ? Did anything happen ? Are you okay ?" He asked his tone changing into a concerned one.

I shook my head and said "I am okay , it is just Ashton is going on a business trip and i have to go with him."

"What ? To where ? How long ? And when you are going?" Caleb asked frowning.

"To Columbia, for a week, and today evening." I said answering his many questions.

"What ?" He said standing up running his hand in his hair.

I expected that he wont approve this , i don't approve it either but i am obliged to go.

"No , no you are not going." He said.

"Caleb , if i didn't go he will fire me."

"The let him fire you . This whole plan was wrong since the beginning." He shook his head.

"Caleb no ! We started this , so we have to finish it." I said trying to convince him.

"What the hell Katherine ? Are you insane ? You want to go alone with him ? And to where ? To Columbia, the place you were avoiding for the last two years." Caleb snapped exasperated his voice raising with every word.

"You think i want to go, you think it easy for me to go there , to go to the place where he died , the place where he is buried , to go back specially on this time of the year , specially when his death anniversary is after two days." I said feeling the tears forming in my eyes.

"I don't want to , but i am obliged, i am doing this to get his revenge , i am doing this for him." I finished what i want and then went out not waiting for him to reply, irritated at the lack of his support, the support that i need badly especially now.

After i finished packing my stuffs , i laid on the couch , closed my eyes trying to think of anything but this whole business trip thing.

Putting my hands in my sweater pocket i felt something inside , i took it out . It was the picture of Chase and me , the one i took from his office.

I couldn't help but smile, i ran my finger over his face, his smile , the smile that i missed so much.

Closing my eyes , i let the memories flow , i let myself for the first time enjoy the fact that i am remembering old times.

*Flashbacks*

Entering his office i went directly beside him , opening the folder in my hands i started flipping through pages trying to find the one i want.

"Look this is it , you told me to search for there previous deal , i found it but look at these marked conditions , i think they would affect us , because the risk would be higher this time .. " I opened the other page " And look here , they suggested this same deal for three other companies but none of them accept it, which made me a little bit suspicious so i.." I stopped talking realizing that he didn't utter a single word since i entered so i turned my head to look at him .

His left hand was holding his face while he was staring at me , a beautiful smile plastered on his gorgeous face , and for sure he didn't listen to me, oblivious of the fact that i was saying important things.

"You look sexier when you go all serious with the business talk." He said leaning forward ,the breathtaking smile never leaving his face.

I shook my head but i couldn't help but smile in return.

"You didn't hear a word of what i said , did you?" I said raising my eyebrow.

"I love you" he said out of nowhere leaning closer till our faces where inches apart, his lips pressed tightly against mine, too forced, as if he expected this kiss to be our last and wanted to savor it for eternity. His lips were smooth, supple, his bottom lip pursed tightly over mine, his hands caressed my neck, slowing sliding up to my flushed cheek. The hand was cool at first, until it made its way to my cheek , after that all i felt was the intense warmth radiating off my skin.

It was a passionate kiss igniting from both of our hearts and coursing through both of our lips causing an electrical surge .
Every Time we kiss i cant help but feel the same , the same as if it is our first kiss.

His forehead pressed against mine , i opened my eyes to meet his ocean blue eyes , they were staring at me like i was the most important thing in this world making my heart flutter.

"I love you too"  It came out more as a whisper , my voice still hoarse from the kiss.

"I would never get bored of hearing this sentence." He said tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear.

A knock on the door snapped us from whatever we were doing making my head hit his head.

"Ouch !" I cried in pain rubbing my forehead making Chase chuckle.

Yeah so funny Mr...

His dad entered the office , he looked at us with amusement as if he sensed what was happening minutes ago.
Then he smiled and shook his head.

I couldn't help the blush that creeped its way to my cheeks making my face flush.
Whereas Chase was smirking like an idiot as if he had won the lottery.

His dad handed him the folder he was holding , said something i didn't hear because my mind was still trying to remove the effect of the kiss that happened minutes ago.

Then his dad went toward the door leaving, but before getting out he turned his face " Son you have red lipstick on your mouth." And the he went leaving me shocked.

I looked at Chase , a chuckle escaped my lips when i saw the red lipstick on his mouth.

"You find this funny ?" He asked daring me to laugh again.

I bursted laughing unable to hold it back.

"Oh come here." He said trying to fake a dangerous tone coming closer and i knew what is gonna happen next so i started running getting out closing the door behind me with the smile not leaving my face.

*End of flashbacks*

I felt something wet on my cheeks , i placed my hand and that is when I realized i was crying .

For the first time since two years i let myself go back to these memories , for the first time i opened the door that i locked , and i let myself inside , i let myself enjoy it , enjoy being inside it .

I let myself swim inside the sea of memories but this time i didn't let the waves take me away, i didn't sink like i though i would.
