Katherine's POV

I looked at the mirror one more time , straightening my grey knee-length skirt , checking my hair and last make up touches .

I think it took me like two hours to decide what to wear today.

Well, i am trying to look presentable as much as possible.

With one deep breath i went out of the room , Caleb was sitting on the couch waiting with a big frown on his face.

He looked at me and his expression changed from irritated to something i couldn't point out , He shook his head , stood shoving his hands in his front pockets, "Well , someone is taking this seriously." He said mockingly.

I just rolled my eyes at his stupid comment.

"Katherine you know we can cancel this now , before you start regretting it." He said trying to walk me out of it but i simply just shook my head.

"We discussed this before , and i think i made it clear that i wont back up , i have to do this and i will , doing this will help me move on." If that is even possible , i mumbled the last part for myself .

"But.."

"Caleb !" I said annoyed, "Don't let me regret telling you , i will do this okay. End of discussion."

When i told him about my plan , he went crazy and started shouting and screaming trying to convince me otherwise , but i didn't listen to him because i know exactly how i am going to do this.

After many arguments, thankfully, i was able to convince him , because he knows if he didn't help , i'll do this on my own. And my plan is a better option because Ashton doesn't know me or know that i was close to Chase , but he knows Caleb very well, so i can do this better without exposing ourselves.

"Okay lets go or i will be late." I said garbing the file containing my CV and other important documents that proves my experience, well they are fake for sure because the only place i worked at was Chase's company but i cant let Ashton know that , if i have to do this i have to do everything in the right way leaving nothing for him to question.

I went out of the house , locking the door behind me.

'Okay lets do this ! I mentally encouraged myself.

Caleb was standing waiting for me with the same poker face , i smiled to assure him that it will be okay but this frown is stuck on his face.

"I am helping you , but that doesn't mean i am okay with this." He said still frowning.

God ! This frown will kill me.

"Ugh ! Come on" I said pushing him as we started walking toward the car.

"By the way -" he cleared his throat, "You look beautiful." He said before entering the car.

Wasn't he shouting at me like two minutes ago-

Bipolar much ?

On our way , i was just thinking about what i should do , and how i will act because if this first part is finished , then everything will be easy.

I just have to get the job.

I hope they will accept me or the whole plan will be ruined.

"You are nervous." Caleb said pointing toward my hands , i was playing with them like i usually do whenever i am nervous.

"It is just i am afraid not to have the job , what if they didn't accept me ! Then the whole plan will be ruined." I said trying to figure a plan B.

"Then i hope they will not accept you. " He said and i just glared at him.

"I just love how you support me." I hope you noticed the sarcasm.

Twenty minutes later we arrived. Looking at the huge building ahead me with "R & S company Inc." written with big letters i couldn't help the twisting feeling in my stomach.

What will happen when i'll saw him , will i be able to control myself ? I mean this man killed Chase , my Chase..

Will i be able to act normally in front of him ? Will i break down ? Will i ruin the plan and expose us ?

"You know we can just go back." Caleb said snapping me out of the debate i was having with my inner self.

"No , i can do this." I said trying to sound confident, but failed miserably.

"I think i should get down now before i get late for the interview , and you go back to work." I said before getting out of the car.

"Wish me luck." I said before closing the door, but the car didn't move, Caleb was still waiting.

"You should go before someone sees you." I said smiling showing him that i am good.

He nodded but still looking irritated, i raised an eyebrow, he huffed before speeding off.

I looked at the building in front of me , my hands are shaking and my heart is pounding so fast.

I felt like throwing up , for one moment i felt like turning back and never come back.

Closing my eyes ,i turned my back deciding to leave but Chase's face flashed in my mind , his eyes, his genuine smile, his laugh ,the way he told me he loved me , the way he proposed , the way his eyes lighted with excitement when i told him i am pregnant, the happiness..

The happiness that i once had , but it was taken away from me.

Taken away because of him..

Anger rushed in my veins, hate and rage is all what i was able to feel at the moment.

I can do this and i will , it is the only way to get my revenge..

Opening my eyes, i wiped the tear that has escaped , and with a determinant look i made my way toward the entrance, i gathered all the courage i have and entered the building ,

The building that very soon i'll destroy.

My phone buzzed in my pocket ,looking at the caller's ID , i just shook my head.

"Yes Caleb !"

"I just want you to take care , just be careful ,okay." He said making a smile crawl to my lips.

"I will , just don't worry . And thank you , thanks for helping me in this even though you don't want to." I said feeling relieved to know that there is someone like Caleb is supporting me.

"Even though i don't like this and i don't want you to do it , but you should know that i'll always be by your side." He said , his words so sincere.

"Okay i have to go now , see you when i'll finish." I said with a smile, "Bye."

I was placing the phone in my purse as I walked when it all happened.

I don't know how someone appeared out of nowhere and bumped into me. I didn't have time to register what happened when the hot liquid was poured all over my hand making me flinch hard from the pain.

"Ahhh !" I cried out from the pain of the hot liquid burning my skin.

"Fuck ! I am sorry , i didn't see you." The one i bumped into said but i didn't bother to listen, my arm was hurting so much.

"Give me some cold water and the first aid kit. " He ordered someone.

"Come sit here." He held my hand ushering me toward the near couch , when i felt his hand on my arm i looked up to see his face.

Suddenly , everything around me faded away as i stared at his worried blue eyes.

I didn't feel the pain in my arm anymore, because the pain inside my chest,the twisting pain in my stomach , the clenching of my heart was much harder.

Of all the people i would bump into , why this man exactly , why ?

The one person behind all the pain i passed through for the last two years is standing just in front of me , holding my arm , looking at me with a worried expression.

I felt like punching him , like breaking down and crying , like leaving and running away from here.

His lips moved but i heard nothing, as if my mind is totally blocked out.

"Still hurting ? " He asked , this time his voice started to be clear.

"Yes." I whispered , but i wasn't talking about my arm , because the pain is negligible compared to the pain i am feeling from the inside.

"I am so sorry , i wasn't paying much attention." He said taking a towel and cold water from the other guy and he started rubbing my arm.

Saying sorry wont bring Chase back..

Even this whole revenge wont bring him back , but at least i'll make him feel the pain, i'll make him pay..

I have to make him pay..

I tried to compose myself, i'll act as if i don't know him, i'll try , I should use this incident somehow to get the job.

"It is okay , i wasn't paying much attention either." I said trying to hide the shakiness in my voice.

"Oh shitt !" I said looking at my white shirt, which is not white anymore.

Then i remembered i was holding a file containing my CV , i directly opened it to see brown circles all over it.

"Oh noo ! Not this !" I said looking at all the papers , they were all ruined .

"Are these important documents ? I can get new ones for you." He said looking at them with a guilty expression.

"You cant ! This my CV and the required documents , And i have an interview like in ten minutes and they need them.

Oh my god , i will not have any chance to get the job now." I said trying to sound nervous and confused, i didn't know i can act like this .

"What job you are applying for ?" He asked sounding curious.

"Personal assistance for the CEO , but that doesn't matter anymore , i wont get the job after my documents are ruined !"

Keep the act Katherine ! Keep going.

"Ohh !" He stared at me with his blue eyes.

"What is your name?" He asked after thinking for a while.

"Katherine." I said, i swallowed hard, "Katherine Hunter, Why ?" I said trying to look confused furrowing my eyebrows.

"Okay Katherine , don't worry
I'll make sure you will do your interview." He said with a confident tone.

"Really ? Oh my god ! Thank you so much !!" I exclaimed faking excitement.

"Sorry again , is your arm better now?"

Oh don't act like you care , You killed the man i loved without hesitation..

"Yeah much better." I never know i can act like this , because believe me i am boiling from the inside.

"Okay then i have to go now." He said before standing up, he turned around and started walking again..

He paused his steps and turned his back, his eyes met mine again, "I hope to see you again Katherine." He said before walking away.

Oh you gonna see a lot me for sure , I give you my word.

I went toward toward the waiting area , there were a lot of women there waiting, why they are half naked for god's sake ?

They were all looking at me with disgusted look , maybe because of my brown strained shirt or because i was actually wearing some clothes.

Maybe the later , yeah..

I waited for about ten minutes, before a brunette lady came she looked at us before calling my name.

"Miss Katherine Hunter ?" She said , her brown eyes wandering around.

"Yes , i am Katherine." I said standing up for her to notice me.

"Come with me." She said smiling at me.

I went after her , having no clue to where the hell i am going.

"Sorry , but where are we going ?" I asked.

"To your interview." She said in a matter-of-a fact tone.

I though the meeting should be down there where all those half naked women were waiting, right ?

Weird..

She opened the big black elegant door , she smiled and ushered me to enter.

I stepped inside confused , my eyes looked around taking the beauty and the elegance of this office , the black and white theme gave it a mysterious yet demanding look.

"Liking what you see?" That familiar voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

I looked to at the source of the voice and to be surprised was an understatement.

Why he was going to do the interview with me ? What the hell ?

My shocked expression wasn't just acting this time.

I mean why he would call me for his office, am i going to get the job ?

"Umm you ?" I exclaimed.

"Yes me." He said with a smile.

It looked fake though.

"U-umm why i am here ?" Okay Katherine let the act start.

"Well , you want to work for the CEO of this company right ?" He asked and i just nodded confused.

"So i though you should meet him first before you start working." He said , his eyes not leaving mine.

I just looked at him dumbfounded and then my eyes widened with realization trying to look surprised.

Wow , i am so good !

"Y-you ? Mr. Ryder ?" I asked with the same surprised expression.

"I prefer Just Ashton , actually." He said shrugging.

" So your first day here and i didn't get to finish my coffee because of you." He paused for a moment , arching one of his eyebrows.

"I hope i wont regret this." He said with a look in his eyes I didn't understand, "But you are hired."

I couldn't help but smile, for a different reason of course.

I didn't though it was going to be this easy.

"You wont regret it!" I said unable to hide my excitement,

My plan is working.

But believe me , i give you my word Mr. Ryder, you are so gonna regret this.

I will make sure you will pay hard for what you did , i will take it all from you.

One by one , you will lose everything you own , including your heart.

That's if you do have a one..
