Title: The Kitten

Genre: Paranormal/Mystery thriller   

Notes: Okay guys, so this one is going to be a first for me. Firstly, it's going to be my first nanowrimo attempt, but mainly, it's going to be my first Paranormal novel. As fate would have it, as of the day I'm writing this section, it's Friday the thirteenth. I don't know how good this novel will be but for a first time Paranormal writer, I'll  do the best that I can.   

Inspiration: You guys will not believe this but the inspiration for this book actually came from a nightmare. Yes, you heard me right, a nightmare. I don't remember most of the nightmare in question, however, I do remember it was a Gremlins type thing where a boy receives a kitten and is told he can never stop paying attention to it, or else bad things will happen. Long story short, the boy ends up forgetting about the kitten as he grows up, as a result, the kitten goes rabid and starts killing people. Over time, basing this book solely on the dream itself became a bad idea. Firstly, it sounded too much like Gremlins. Secondly, I don't like the thought of a little kitten killing people, I love those little cuties. Then when I was trying to figure out what to do, I remembered a quote that said.  

''Always turn a negative situation in a positive situation.''

That's when I got the buzz for this new thrilling and chilling plot.

The Basic plot This story is about a ten year old boy named Michael Pointer. His mom Lyra has decided to pack up the family and move back to the small town of Springwater Falls where she  grew up. While dad Gale is on board with it, Michael's less than thrilled with the idea. Not wanting her son to be sad, Lyra makes a deal with him. She tells him, if he does well on his new paper rout, they'll get him a kitten. Michael reluctantly agrees, and the whole family makes the move. A month passes, and  Michael has earned his kitten. As the years go by however, Michael starts to notice that something's not right, and the mystery surrounding the little creature begins. In a quest to solve the mystery,  Michael will uncover a story long forgotten by most. One about a little girl, an unsolved murder, and a sadistic killer.

Rating: PG-13, even though some of the tones are darker.

Status: Brain storming/planing stage.
