Facebook Post #7
I was minding my own business when Sara sneaks up behind me. Usually, I'd brush it off, but this time, all I could hear was jingle jingle jingle. I had to turn around.
And what do I see?
My eyes widened in shock. "Wait, I was supposed to be the one dressed dramatically! Why are YOU dressed like an extravaganza? Hold up, are we doing a fashion show or something?"
Sara smirks at me, cool as ice. "Oh, you didn't hear? I'm out to outdo your fashion! Molly's in on this too."
Traitor.
Molly chuckles from the door. So this was planned. A coordinated attack on my reputation as the Ornamental Knight! Oh, the betrayal. The pain. But let it be known—I will not back down. Not without a fight.
I cross my arms, narrowing my eyes at them. "Alright, are we doing the Winter Wonderland Runway tonight? Because if so, I'm ready to own it."
I can't resist tugging at one of the decorative bells on Sara's trench coat—it jingles obnoxiously, but she doesn't flinch. Impressive.
"Ahem." Molly steps forward, her ensemble blinding me with its flamboyance. She's decked out like a pigeon in a sequined night suit, and I—oh no. My cheeks are heating up.
I'm blushing.
Two gorgeous ladies standing there, shaking up my ego, and here I am, blushing! What is this madness?
"Blushing?!" I chide myself under my breath. "Of all the human emotions, you pick blushing?! We can't go down like this! We're supposed to be battling Fashionistas, not falling for their charms!"
And just my luck—I said it out loud.
Sara and Molly are laughing at me, practically doubled over.
Sara wipes a tear from her eye. "Looks like the Ornamental Knight has been outdone on his bravado!"
It's my turn to step it up. "Oh, you think you can just waltz in here looking fabulous and shake up my feathers? Well, guess what—it's working. BUT I WON'T BACK DOWN!"
Miguel, the eternal peanut gallery, waltzes in with popcorn in hand. "Ooh, someone's jealous!"
"Jealous?!" I scoff, glaring at him. "I think you mean inspirationally motivated!"
He laughs harder, and I'm this close to throwing his popcorn out the window, but I have bigger plans. I smirk. "You know what? I'm going to show you all who the real Fashionista is. Let's do this—my way."
I storm off to my room, cheeks still red from blushing but determination bubbling in my veins. My wardrobe awaits. I scan through my collection until I find it—the outfit.
A feathered cape with more jingles than any human has ever seen. Bold red tuxedo shirt and pants, brighter than the northern lights. A hat so obnoxiously decorated it could stop traffic. And of course, the final touch—my eyeliner, sharp enough to slay dragons.
I grin at my reflection. "The Ornamental Knight is back, baby."
