So, recently my favorite youtube channel to watch for education on DID (DissociDID) had an integration, and I've been meaning to put this up in honor of that, to do my fair share of spreading awareness. But it's been... Wow. I was not expecting it to hit this hard. Granted, it's not as hard for me as some of the people who know them more personally but...

Um, anyway. Let's get to the part about education!

So, I suppose if you don't know what integration is you'll be super confused and have absolutely no idea what the heck I'm going on about.

Let me explain. (The best I can.)

Integration is essentially the "combination" of two seperate alters. (A few people have compared it to Stephen Universe's fusion, if you have ever seen that cartoon.)

In the case of DissociDID, Chloe, their system's host, integrated with their sexual protection alter, Nina. Once they integrated they became someone else, a brand new alter -- Nin.

Nin still has both Nina and Chloe's memories; she has inheritated a few of their traits as well. She is still their system's host. However, she is a COMPLETELY new and different person. She has her own new personality to discover, her own new opinions, hobbies, interests, etc.

So, while in part she is still Chloe and Nina, she is also herself -- Nin.

On the opposite end of things, while Chloe and Nina are technically not gone, they are not who they once were and those versions of themselves will never be reached again, at least not in the same way.

Now, it's just Nin. (This sounds like I'm dissing her. I'm not. She is quite lovely, I'm simply making a point.)
