Part 2

It had been three busy days since Manjiri's accident. She was healing and was at home now. The police was still trying to find the culprit. They had narrowed the investigation down to the search of a grey car that a witness had claimed to leave the dump hastily that day. A young man had claimed that he was returning from a seminar and he saw a grey-ish, silver car leave the hay dump. He thought the driver must have lost control and didn't think anyone was hit. He sadly couldn't see who was driving or more about the model of the car.

Abhimanyu was restless to find the culprit and busy taking care of his mother. Akshara on the other hand was deep in guilt. She couldn't believe this had happened. She was struggling to hide this from her family! She loved Arohi and she would have kept her recklessness a secret but how could she not reveal about the accidents' truth? She was torn and confused. She took a deep breath.

Akshara: I know just the person to talk to...

Abhimanyu was shocked and stunned as he held the picture in his hands. The police had obtained an image. They had searched the CCTV footage outside a store near the area and spotted a car driving away that matched the description. The old camera's angle was too low to capture the faces but the number plate was clearly visible. It was a Goenka car. But what inspired doubt was the blood on the corner. 

Harshvardhan Birla stood up with fury in his eyes.

Harshvardhan: These Goenkas! Jb se zindagi me aaye hai jeena mushkil ho gaya aur ab bs ye hi baki tha...Maar hi denge hume vo..

Mahima was angry and confused as well. Anand stood watching the situation unfold helplessly.

Mahima: Jiss tarah se vo humare sath they, Manjiri ko dhoond rahe they, mujhe lga hi nahi ki they knew anything..

Harshvardhan: Bhabhi yehi to specialty hai in logon ki, nautanki parivaar hai poora...drama first class krte hai!...Inhe toh mai jail bhijawaunga...Inspector sahab ab arrest kariye..

Inspector: Sir, I respect your emotions lekin us time sbhi Goenkas ke alibi hai. Humne sbki statements cross verify ki thi. Mr Akhilesh and Mr Manish ek meeting me they. Office building me unki entry hai and building se entry exit ki footage bhi hai. Mr. Kairav us time apke hi ghar ki beti ko airport drop krne gaye they, unki bhi footage hai. Mr. Vansh insta pr live they and dono ladies ghar pr hi thi.

Harshvardhan: Aur vo dono ladkiyan?? Unka kya? Doctor Arohi toh phir bhi hospital me hogi...kahin ye? Waah Abhimanyu Waah! Dekh rahe ko....tumhari hi Akshu ne tumhari hi maa ki ye halat kr di...

Anand: Bs kro Harsh. Tum itne yakin se kaise keh sakte ho?

Harshvardhan: To aur kon hoga Bhaisahab? Ye ladki mujhe pehle se hi galat lagti thi....vo toh sb Abhimanyu ki khushi ke liye maan gaye they...Aur aap nautanki ka level dekhiye ladki ka...itni seedhi lagti hai ki koi bhi shaq na kar paye...Kaise parshen ho rahi thi...aur kya bol rahi thi Manjiri ko? Maa! Maa bolti hai aur peche se gadi thok kr chali jaati hai...

Anand: BS HARSH! Unka koi staff bhi ho skta hai. Tumhe personal problem hai usse to iss baat ko investigation ke beech me mt lao...Hum sb Goenka House chalte hai...kuch pta lag jaye shyd..

Harshvardhan: Haan chalo...Un Goenkas ki toh class leni hai...specially us Manish Goenka ki..kitni akad hai!!

Mahima: Dr. Harsh! Please apna personal angle mt ghusao... Ho skta hai ki sach me koi staff ho aur Goenkas ko kuch pta hi na ho...mai bs chahti hoon ki meri behen ke saath galat krne wale ko saza mille, tumhari personal dushmani me kahin actual doshi na bach jaye

Harshvardhan: Vo to jaakr hi pta chalega...Chaliye...chalo Abhimanyu..

This is when they realized that Abhimanyu, who had been silent most of this conversation had  left just as quietly as he had been sitting. 

Harshvardhan: Ye ladka bhi na...

Anand: arey hum to chalte hai pehle...

Meanwhile, Abhimanyu stood in the park in front of Birla hospital. He kept punching a tree trunk to help him against all the anger he was feeling. But today he wasn't just feeling anger, it was something else too- something he could not put his finger on. He kept hitting the tree till pain was the only thing he felt.

This is how he had always dealt with his emotions. He would exert himself to the point till exhaustion was all he felt. His mind kept wavering to the images of him mother and Akshu. His mother- unconscious and injured. He had felt his world crash in that moment. His also remembered Akshu was meaning to tell him something- Was this what she wanted to say? He recalled her injury and that stilled his assault of the tree. He fell on the ground.

Abhimanyu: Nahi! Ye nahi ho skta...meri maa.. Akshu...Nahi!! Aisa nahi ho skta...hey Mahadev..

Tears pooled in his eyes . The heart surgeon felt his heart tear into two inside his chest.

The Birlas had reached the Goenka House and what had followed was absolute chaos. Harshvardhan had flung insults and accusations at the household before anyone could say anything. Arohi's eyes had widened and she gulped nervously. Goenkas were confused about all the yelling before they figured out that it was their car that hit Manjiri. They were all saddened and shocked by the news. Manish started to line up the staff to enquire.

Harshvardhan: Arey ye gareeb servants pr iljaam lagane se kya hoga? Puchiye apni ladli se, apni Akshu se....Kyu Madam Akshu? Tumhe toh pta hi hoga na ki Manjiri ka accident kiss car se hua tha...

Parth: Chachaji aap-

Anand: Tum chup kro Parth. Beech me mt bolo aur tum Harsh shant raho..

Akshara looked down. It wasn't natural for her to lie but she couldn't reveal the truth either.

Harshvardhan: Kaise shant ho jau Bhaisahab?...abhi to ye ladki humare ghar ki bahu bani nahi aur humari khushiyon me aag lagana shuru bhi kr diya isne....dekhiye kaise khadi hai nazre jhukaye... iski hi galti hai... Baki sb kahin na kahin they na and I am sure Dr. Arohi hospital me hi thi..ye Akshara ne..

Arohi smiled inside. So no one was doubting her.

Inspector: Dekhiye Mr. Harsh aap kanoon apne hath me lekr aise faisla nahi de skte..

Mahima: Haan! Aur humari bacchi aisi hai hi nahi...apke ghar me hadsa hua hai iska lihaj hai lekin aap to hade hi paar krte jaa rahe hai...

Inspector: Aap sb shaant rahe aur police ko enquiry krne de...Ms Akshara, uss din bhi apse humari baat nahi ho payi thi...aapse kuch sawal poochne hi honge hume...

Arohi: ( in mind) nahi! Akshu ne dr ke maare sbko kuch bol diya toh? Nahi mai mere career kharab nahi hone dungi...

She interrupts them.

Arohi: Accident Akshu ne hi kiya hai!!

These were the words that welcomed Abhi as he entered the house. Everyone had turned to look at Arohi in shock and then turned to Akshara. The girl in question herself looked up at Arohi in shock.

Arohi: I am sorry. Pr mai ye baat aur nahi chupa skti. Isne mujhe bataya tha ki isne galti se car shiv mandir ke pass bhuse me lga di thi. Pr Isse nahi pta tha ki kissi ko chot lgi hai....vo toh isse bhi bohot baad me pta chala....iski galti nahi hai...

Absolute chaos followed. Akshara looked at Arohi in disbelief while everyone hurled accusations at her. Her family was questioning her while Birlas were accusing her. She struggled to breathe. Her world was spinning and no one noticed that the petite girl was getting weaker while they stood arguing.

She suddenly slipped but before she could hit the ground, Abhimanyu caught her. Her sad eyes met his. A sob broke out of her lips as she felt relief rush into her. He wouldn't let her fall!

Abhimanyu: Mai bohot bohot gussa hu tumse..

And just like that...her world began crashing again.
