PoV: Shadow

He had vansihed...  Sonic was no longer floating over the emerald like he was before.

"No..." I couldn't see him.

"Disconnecting the emerald now," Tails typed on his computer and the glass door opened, "Shadow, is he there?"

"Sonic... we just got him back..." Amy was watching as I climbed up the large machine and grabbed the emerald.

  Come on, come on, come on... I focused all of my energy into finding Sonic's. I couldn't feel him, I couldn't sense him.

"He's gone... I can't sense him... This was a mistake. I should have stopped after it failed the first time. That Sear warned us and we didn't listen," I held onto the emerald with a tight grip.

"I can fix this, I'll recalibrate this one to seperate the energy. If we take your energy out then maybe we can pull Sonic out of there," Tails started looking over his blue prints.

"No, we should... we should leave it alone," I got up, "I'll keep guard of the emerald."

"We should take him to angle island," Knuckles spoke. He had been quiet the entire time, he stopped watching after the machine turned off, "The Master emerald is mysterious, but it might be able to help. Or at least let us know if Sonic is still in there."

"Let's try it. I don't want to stop until we've done everything we can," Tails grabbed the keys to his plane.

  I looked down at the emerald, not even a flicker came from it, "we can try it..."

  Sonic, don't go anywhere.

  In the plane it was a smooth flight. Yet, even so, everyone noticed the badniks wandering around by themselves.

"What do you think Eggman is up too?" Amy asked.

"I don't know, and I don't like it," I hid the emerald away in my quills.

Fwoooosh!!!

"Woah!" Tails quickly turned as one of the robots missed a shot aimed at us.

"Tails, get us out of here," Knuckles kept one fist at ready.

"I'm trying-" Thud!

  On of the robots launched themselves up and grabbed the plane, "Chaos Emerald Detected. Retrieving Emerald."

"He's hunting chaos emeralds!" I kicked the bot off the side of the plane and Tails leveled it back out.

"Eggman's been looking for emeralds, we've been too distracted to notice," Tails sped up the flight, "We need to find out how many he has and what he's planning to do with them."

"We need to keep him away from the blue emerald," I wasn't letting them near the emerald.

"Chaos Emerald Detected. Retrieving Emerald," fly robots were set out after us from behind.

"Not a chance!" Amy quickly swung her hammer, sending the closet robot flying into the others. The crash caused about 3 others to explode and fall. There were still many left in the swarm after us, "Tails, go forward at full speed!"

"Hold on tight everbody!" Tails shouted just before flying off at full speed. I hung on as best I could.

  The robots were soon far behind us. We arrived at angle island and landed right next to the temple. I quickly made my way up the stairs while the others followed behind me.

"What do we do?" I took out the blue emerald. It looked paler...

"I'm not sure, but its fading color. That's can't be a good sign..." Knuckles took the emerald from me and placed it on the master emerald. He placed a hand on the emerald and closed his eyes, "Keep guard, this could take hours..."

"Understood," I stayed where I could still see the emerald while Tails flew over head with his twin tails to keep a bird's eye view. Amy patroled the near by woods.

  We call began the slow waiting process... If the Master emerald could help us in anyway, I'd stand guard for days if needed.
  
PoV: 3rd Person

  The master emerald did indeed take its time. Knuckles remained still and unmoving. Waiting for any word that could possibly help them. Or even just a sign that Sonic hadn't passed on.

"Sir. The final emerald has been located. It's currently location is angle island," the large computer before Eggman spoke, informing the villain of the final emerald's location.

"Well well well well well! Not only will I have the final chaos emerald, but the master emerald too! My robots are working beautifully! OHOHOHOHO!" The red mustached man laughed in glee.

  As the freedom fighters had become preoccupied with Sonic's condition, they had all failed to notice Eggmans massive search. He had sent hundreds of flying robots to scour the planet in search for all seven emeralds.

"Warning, threat recognized," the computer changed from a map to a camera from a hidden robot on the island. It showed Amy walking in the distance with her hammer.

"So, Sonic's old friends are protecting the emerald. Well, we'll just have to take it by forced," Eggman hit a button in his base to command his robots, "All robot's report to angle island's coordinates. Get that emerald no matter what!"

"Time get this lair up into the sky," The egg shaped villan laughed and he turned on the engine to his flying lair, "We're going to angle island."
