It had only been a week since David's wife had left him for a young, perky fellow about five years younger than that of David. David kept wondering, why did Brenda leave him?
He was supposed to be meeting up with some old friends from college, but at this point he was beginning to question if that was best for him. What would he do without Brenda? What would some old friends do to help?
That was it. David already felt lifeless, and if we stayed in his trashy apartment any longer, he would be lifeless. He was going to go out tonight with his friends, and try and have a good time. Maybe he would find someone to replace Brenda.

**time skip**

It was 6 pm when David heard someone knock. Looking out, he saw a man about his age. Rodgers had come to pick him up. He walked out only to find Rodgers look at him with distaste. David asks why.

"You look like shit. You have a beer belly."

"So?"

"No."

"No?"

"You're not going anywhere with me like that."

With that, Rodgers dragged David back into his apartment to find something better to wear. Five minutes later, they came back out having only slightly helping David's drab situation. They then took off in Rodgers' car to the club where others would be meeting them.
Upon walking in, Rodgers led David to the bar when Collin and Shawn were already waiting. Collin raised an eyebrow when he saw David.

"How did Rodgers let you come with him looking like that?" He asks. Rodgers gives him a look.

"I did the best I could." He replies.

"Damn. Wouldn't wanna see what he looked like earlier." This time it was Shawn who spoke.

Rodgers and David sat down, David taking a shot of tequila. He then turns to his friends.

"I came here to feel better about myself and this isn't helping at all."

"What else do you want?" Shawn asks.

"To feel alive again."

Collin and Shawn give each other wicked grins. It couldn't end well. It wouldn't end well. But it happened anyways.

"Finally! Something we can work with. C'mon." Collin says.

They take a couple more shots, Rodgers however staying out of it because he's the rational thinker and sober driver. Soon the four leave off to Shawn's van.
