Chapter Six

"Why didn't you tell me about this?"

You and Missy were given some time to talk, the four mutant turtles going around and checking on all the Kraang to make sure they wouldn't start fighting again. Missy had taken off her beanie, revealing her long dark brown hair. It covered her face as she looked down.

"I didn't want you to get hurt. . . But, I was wrong, you still could've been hurt by the monsters who've hurt me, by trying to protect you." Missy said, wiping her eyes. You pulled back her hair and made her meet your gaze.

"Hey, it's alright. . . I'm fine, and so are you. They only people who got hurt were the Kraang, and who cares about that?" You smiled, hoping that you had cheered up your friend. Missy looked down again, sniffed, then looked back at you, and smiled.

"No one?" She offered, and you grinned.

"That's right, no one." You said, side-hugging her. "So, shapeshifting, huh?"

"Would you like me to show you?" Missy asked, pulling away from the hug and smirking.

"I think the wolf was enough." You said. "But, can you change small things too? Not just, different forms?"

"Yes, I can!" Missy pointed to her hair, and you watched with amazement as her hair began to shorten, and curl, changing color to a dirty blonde.

"Whoa. . ." You reached out and patted Missy's head, feeling that the hair was real. "That's so cool."

Missy grinned. You continued to mess with Missy's hair as the four turtles started to circle back to you two.

"The Kraang have been taken care of, we should be safe." The turtle with the blue mask said, sheathing his swords. You weren't really sure about the four. They were all varying in sizes, but they looked like they could take you down in a second. But they saved your life and Missy's, the least you could do was hear them out.

"Thank you. . ." Missy said, bowing her head a little.

"It was no pro-blem-o wolf girl." The orange masked one said, waving his three fingered hand in dismissal. He stopped and got up close to Missy, which made her yelp in surprise.

"Mikey, back off." The first said, stepping forward.

"There's something different about her, though." The second said.

"I changed my hair, to show my friend my powers." Missy said, sounding nervous, but confident, you had no idea how.

"Oh wow! That's incredible!" A third said. It was the purple masked turtle, the one who saved you. Before he could continue, the blue banded one spoke.

"Donnie, before you go on your whole science thing, we should get them to safety, don't you think?"

"Oh yeah," The third backed off, smiling sheepishly.

"Uh, I'm not going anywhere until I know who you all are, and why those," You sputtered for a moment, motioning to the lifeless robot bodies laying in the street, "things were after Missy."

"Well, that's too bad either you're coming with us or we're leavin' ya stranded." The fourth, and final turtle said. It was the red banded one, and he looked like he'd be the one to take you down first.

"We're not going to leave them. The Kraang want them, we have to keep them safe, Raphael." The first said, glaring at the fourth. He turned to you. "You're right, you should know who we are and what the Kraang is, so, we will gladly tell you."

After some explaining about the human sized, talking, crime fighting turtles, you found out that they've been defending the city for a few years now, and they've been fighting the Kraang for a while, along with a guy named Shredder. You also found out that they were mutated by stuff called Mutagen, which the Kraang had brought to your dimension from theirs, Dimension X.

Oh and the four turtles were brothers and named after Renaissance Artists. That was what surprised you the most.

Leonardo, or Leo, was the turtle with blue mask, the first one to talk. The second to speak was Michelangelo, preferably Mikey, who's orange mask matched his personality. Even his weapon of choice matched how he was all over the place. The third was Donatello, or Donnie, the one who had saved you. He was the tallest, and his weapon, a Bo Staff, matched that. Finally there was Raphael, or Raph, Raphy by Mikey, (which earned him a hard slap to the head,) was the fourth to speak. His two sais holstered at his sides, looking like they were just begging to be used to fight someone.

"We're going to take you back to our hide out, at least until we can figure out a safe place for you to stay." Leo said, after introductions.

"Does that mean I can't go back home? What about my parents? Will they be okay?" You rounded off, the thought that your parents being hurt was too much to imagine.

"You think you can convince them to stay away for a bit, until things cool off?" Donnie suggested. You shrugged.

"I-I don't know, my parents are unpredictable." You looked to Missy who nodded along with you. Everything your parents did, depended on their mood, which always seemed to be in sync. You raked your mind, thinking about what kind of a mood they'd be in at the moment, and all the possible outcomes. There was were three, so far:

1.) Your parents understood and stayed away from home for a bit

2.) They'd be super confused and want to come home to check on you

3.) They'd not listen to you and come home like everything was normal only to have aliens in their face.

"Donnie, stay behind, the rest of us will take Missy to the lair." Leo said. Donnie nodded, and you both watched the other three brothers and Missy climb up a fire escape and out of view. Donnie turned to you.

"So, do you have an idea of what you want to tell your parents?" He questioned. You shrugged and started saying the first things to come to mind.

"Uh, bugs, invasion, circus tent, can't stay for like a month-" Donnie stared at you, confused.

"What? Okay, I've lived with Mikey for years, and I still have no idea what you meant." He said. You took a moment to reevaluate everything and construct proper sentences like a normal person would.

"There's a swarm of bugs, they need to fumigate the whole apartment complex and they can't stay for a month or so." You said, pulling out your phone. "I'll just say that I was invited to stay with a friend until it's done, and I'll see them whenever I can."

"That could work." Donnie looked impressed that you could form a plan with a bunch of random words that came to your head, but then again, he's seen his orange masked brother do weirder things and still end up on top. As the other line rang, you started to pace, kicking at the ground, Donnie leaning on his staff watching you. When your mom picked up, your ear filled with giggling and thumping of a bass line in a song in the background.

"Mom?" You asked into the phone, only to receive more giggling.

"Mom, you there?" You said.

"Oh! Hey!" Your mom's voice yelled into the phone. You winced a bit due to the loudness.

"I can hear that from here!" Donnie whispered to you, making you smile.

"Mom, where are you?"

"Oh!" Your mom giggled your dad's name, telling him to stop. You blushed and grimaced, trying your best not to imagine what could be happening on the other line.

"We're at that one club! The one that your aunt suggested!"

"What happened to dinner and a movie?"

"We did do that! Then we decided why should that fun stop?! So we went to the club!" Your mom laughed. You looked over at Donnie who rolled his hand in a circle, telling you to go on. You nodded.

"Mom, the apartment building is getting fumigated, there was a termite problem in the basement." You said. "I'm staying at a friend's house and I'm taking Missy with me. You guys can stay at a hotel or something."

Your mom was quiet for a bit.
"Alright! I'll tell your dad then! We're gonna need to pick up our stuff though!" Your eyes widened.

"Uh, you can't!"

"What, why?"

You looked at Donnie for help, who panicked a bit, but he then started to motion out what he's wanting to say. You couldn't make heads or tails about what he was saying and you narrowed your eyes as you watched him, shaking your head that you didn't understand. Donnie huffed and angrily whispered what he meant to say.

"It's too late, they've already started fumigating!" Your mouth formed an 'o' and you nodded. Donnie sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Hon? You still there?"

"Yeah, sorry-"

"Who's there with you? Is that your friend? It sounded like a boy! Is he cute? Ask him out!"

"It's my friends brother, mom." You said, kicking at a stray Kraang robot. The robot momentarily rebooted which made you scream and cower behind Donatello who laughed at you.

"You okay?" Your mom asked.

"Yeah, uh, a video game scared me."

Your mom laughed.
"Okay. Well, I'll tell your dad. But I honestly doubt we'll remember anything, we're a little buzzed." Your mom giggled into the phone and you rolled your eyes.

"Alright, whatever, just go to a hotel room, okay?"

"Alriiighhht." Your mom giggled again.

"Bye mom." Your mom just kept giggling so you ended up hanging up on her. You looked at Donnie with an annoyed look.

"How does this-" You started to imitate the motions he was doing earlier, "Translate to, 'Too late they already started'?"

Donnie threw his arms up.
"I was panicking okay?!"

You rolled your eyes and put your phone in your pocket.

"Whatever, let's just go, okay? I'm tired, and my stomach is starting to hurt." You said, holding your abdomen. It felt like someone was actually holding your stomach intestine and squeezing it. Donnie lost his defensive demeanor and was replaced with one of concern.

"Are you alright? Did the Kraang get'cha?" He asked. You gagged.

"No, just, ugh, Missy thought it'd be a great idea to eat a combination of microwaved chocolate, peanut butter and marshmallow." You grunted. Donnie has heard weirder concoctions from his orange-masked brother but he ate crap like that all the time, he must've been immune by now. You, on the other hand, probably weren't.

"C'mon, let's get'cha to the lair and I can get'cha some antacids."

"Thanks, Donnie." You said, and you followed him as he led the way to his home, holding your stomach the entire way.
