Chapter Thirteen : Choice? The Pain Of Losing All For You!
Park Ji Min POV
"Master! Master!," my butler called out as he knocked on the door.
I groaned as I opened my eyes. This stupid butler ruined my dream about Taehyung and me. "What do you want at this unholy hour?!"
"Master, there is a young boy waiting for you outside the front door. He says he's your friend."
Young boy? Taehyung?
Immediately I jumped out of the bed and put on my slippers. I opened the door and ran past the butler. I ran downstairs in a hurry to see Taehyung.
What could he want at this hour?
"Taehyung?," I called smiling as I opened the front door; but my smile turned into disappointment. It wasn't amusing for me at all.
Jungkook turned to me with soulless eyes. He bit his lower lip as he uttered my name, "Jimin..."
"Jungkook, why are you here at this hour?," I asked casually, managing to give out a fake smile at him.
"Jimin, I'm ruined. He left me!," Jungkook cried out as he took a step towards me; and before I knew it, he was hugging me very tightly.
I blinked in surprise. "Left? Who left?"
"Taehyung left me!"
I was taken aback when I heard his reply.
Taehyung left.
I felt my cheeks heating up with anger. My nostrils flared up. I was very much disappointed in Jungkook; just how could he let Taehyung go?
"You dumb brat!," I shouted out madly as I pushed Jungkook away from me. I grabbed him by his collar and brought him close to me. "What do you mean Taehyung left?!"
"He left..."
"Why?! Answer me!"
All Jungkook managed to say were three hurtful words, "He just left..."
I stared deep into his eyes. I could see that Taehyung leaving bothered him the most. He tried to hide his sorrow, but his eyes were bad in lying.
Getting angry at Jungkook wouldn't bring Taehyung back, so I let go of Jungkook's collar.
"Go home, Jungkook."
"I can't. I couldn't bring Taehyung back, so Grandma will be very disappointed in me. I don't want her to see that I failed."
"What? So you visited him? You know where Taehyung lives?," I asked curiously.
Jungkook nodded.
I smiled a bit at that. He knows where Taehyung lives, that means now I have the chance to make him come back home with me.
"Jimin?," Jungkook called.
"Huh? What?"
"Can I stay here for the past few days?"
I blinked. "What about your grandmother?"
"I won't go back until I bring Taehyung with me!," Jungkook said firmly.
My lips pressed into a thin line. Jungkook's not giving up, and I'm a bit glad to hear that he isn't losing hope so easily. But at the same time, I'm a bit nervous as well.
What if he really brings Taehyung back home and I couldn't? The thought just makes me feel afraid. I know Taehyung will never belong to me, but I'm not going to give up too.
"Sure. You can stay here with me!," I said with a genuine smile.
Jungkook smiled back as he wipes his tears away. "Thank you!"
Kim Seok Jin POV
"Taehyung, don't be such a wuss and open the door this instant!," I ordered as I banged on the door to his room.
"Go away!," Taehyung shouted from inside.
"Taehyung, don't make me teleport in there! Because if I do, you'll be in big trouble!," I threatened.
"I don't care!," Taehyung shouted back.
"Taehyung - ," I called out; and then I heard Taehyung cry out even more. I hesitated as I stood out his door. My mind started drifting elsewhere.
Did I do a bad thing by keeping him away from Jungkook? But I did it all for him.
Why do I feel like a bad guy?
Park Ji Min POV
*Next Morning*
"Butler Lee, get the car ready!," I shouted out in an order as I left my room dressed in my finest Italian-leather hand-stitched suit.
Jungkook had spent the night here, and he was still asleep in his room. Thank God, my parents weren't home; they were travelling the world.
So using this moment as an opportunity, I was leaving my mansion to meet Taehyung, and probably bring him back home.
"Young Master, are you going somewhere?," Butler Lee asked curiously as he met me at the doorway.
I nodded.
"I'm sure it isn't school you're going to looking at how you dressed up," Butler Lee said sarcastically.
I smiled at him sheepishly.
Butler Lee frowned. "The car's ready to go...," he informed with a bow.
"Thank you!," I said with a smile. Before leaving, I asked him, "Do I look presentable?"
Butler Lee nodded. "Yes, Young Master, you look stunning in that suit."
A bright smile appeared on my face as I walked out the mansion.
The chauffeur opened the back door of the Mercedes for me and I got inside. After that the driver asked me, "Where to, Sire?"
"Take me to the countryside."
Kim Seok Jin POV
I laid back on the couch as I stared blankly at the ceiling. My eyes had big eye-bags beneath.
I couldn't sleep a wink last night because of worrying over Taehyung. He hadn't eaten a thing since last night.
Ugh. So much for my beauty sleep...
Just when I was going to fall asleep, there was a knock on the door. Feeling frustrated and angry, I teleported myself exactly in front of the front door.
"What do you want?!," I shouted out angrily as I flung opened the door.
My gaze fell on the short, orange-haired boy who stood before me. He stared at me while I stared back. Suddenly his face contorted.
"Who are you?!," we asked each other in chorus.
We frowned at the same time. "I'm Kim Seokjin. You are?," I asked.
"I'm Park Jimin and I came here to meet Taehyung! Let me meet him!," the boy said boldly.
It sounded like a firm order. Looking at how he's dressed up and that confident tone, this boy is very rich.
"Are you Taehyung's friend?"
"Yes."
I hesitated a bit. "Fine. Come in..," I groaned as I opened the door wide enough for him to enter, which Jimin did with a very happy smile.
Park Ji Min POV
I stared around the house as soon as I stepped in. The interior design wasn't that great and the furniture looked old and rusty.
It wasn't up to my expectations.
So this how normal people live, huh?
Seokjin led me to the living room. "Stay here. I'll go get Taehyung...," he said and left.
I plopped down onto the velvet couch. It creaked as I shifted to a comfortable position. I had a feeling that Seokjin didn't liked me at all.
"Chim-Chim?," a voice called.
That voice made my heart flutter. Immediately I stood up and turned around to face Taehyung with a smile. "Taehyung!," I greeted happily.
Taehyung forced a smile as he walked in with Seokjin beside him. They sat down across from me while I sat back down on the couch.
"So, why are you here?," Seokjin said with a glare.
I hesitated for a bit. I bit my lips as I told him that I came here to take Taehyung back. When I did, Seokjin's brain exploded with anger like an active volcano.
After only a few seconds of meeting, he was already strangling me.
"Hyung, stop it!," Taehyung shouted out worriedly as he pulled Seokjin away from me.
I gasped for air.
Taehyung and Seokjin exchanged worried glances. I could feel the tension rising between them. Finally, Seokjin sighed as he faced me.
"Fine. Taehyung can go back - "
Taehyung and I smiled happily.
" - But - ," Seokjin spoke up, "Taehyung will be living with you, not Jungkook. I want you to see that Taehyung stays away from that annoying kid!"
I hesitated as I tried to avoid eye-contact. Keep Jungkook away from Taehyung, but Jungkook lives with me.
My gaze landed upon Seokjin. He was glaring at me angrily. His piercing glare seemed like he could read what was going on in my mind.
"JUNGKOOK LIVES WITH YOU!," Seokjin blared out as he stood up from his seat.
I gulped hard as I stared at him.
"Hyung, I want to talk to you in private...," Taehyung spoke up. He stood up and left the room while Seokjin followed behind.
I just stared at them as they left.
Kim Seok Jin POV
"Taehyung, there is no way I'll let you meet him!," I said firmly.
"Please, hyung, let me go. I'm already leaving, so until then, let me spend some time with him," Taehyung pleaded as he joined his hands.
"Taehyung... Haven't you learn anything about the human life? I have explained it to you many times!," I shouted out furiously.
"I have. I have learnt many things from Jungkook, yet I yearn for him. Please, hyung, please let me go!," Taehyung cried out as he hugged me.
I hesitated. What should I do? Should I let him go? But what if Taehyung ends up hurting? The same thing had happened to me as well.
But then Jungkook is a good guy after all. He loves Taehyung, and so he came here for him last night. And what Park Jimin? It seems like he loves Taehyung as well.
"Fine. You can leave."
"Really?!," Taehyung said surprised as he looked up at me with wide eyes.
I nodded with a smile. Taehyung smiled back happily as he embraced me.
"But - ," I spoke up.
"But what?," Taehyung asked innocently.
"I'll give you ten days to mend your broken heart. I'll complete the communicator within ten days, and after that, I'll come to get you." I spoke up.
"But ten days - "
"Ten days will be enough for you to wrap things up before you leave. I don't want you blaming me...," I said.
Taehyung hesitated. He didn't know what to do; accept the ten days decision or stay here regretting and go back to his planet sadly.
"I accept!," Taehyung said firmly.
***
I watched the Mercedes drive away from my house. I waved goodbye at Taehyung with a fake smile. I didn't want to let him go, but -
As I watched him leave, I remembered a beautiful quote by Shakespeare.
"But love is blind, and lovers cannot see;
the pretty follies that themselves commit."
So true. So true.
