Alien Dreams - Buggy Edition

Alien Dreams - Buggy Edition

This is a comic book style story about alien abduction told in free form poetry. A 16-year-old teen boy living out in the country tells the story in 4 parts.

A soft summer breeze caressed my face; a hazy moon lit night caressed my dreams.

The odor of chickweed and saffron invaded my dream; my nose was assaulted by the irritating smell of ozone.

I lay upon my bed half asleep; my foggy mind wandered half awake.

The stars slowly wandered across the sky; a bright light darted across my window,

I ran to the window to see what the matter was; I saw a large triangle slowly descend and cast a blue glow over the backyard.

Suddenly, I was floating in air; I looked up at a metal flower opening its petals.

I ascended into an unknown scene of wonder; I could see my house growing smaller in a large glass dome.

Compound eyes stared at me; eyes without faces surrounded me.

Claws touched my face; the claws belonged to green creatures that smelled of formic acid.

I felt a tube descend down my throat; my gagging was to no avail.

A bright light glared in my eyes; I could only see shadows darting in and out of my field of vision.

The light abated but I continued to see after images; I turned to see Earth shrink quickly in the glass dome.

Stars transformed into light trails; the domed glass displayed a light trail apex.

A blue and yellow sphere grew quickly in the domed glass; the speckled planet was bathed in reddish light.

I descended on a blue beam of light; I felt the presence of others surrounding me.

The planet’s surface was populated with trees that had black leaves protruding from knotty stems; a bright pumpkin colored sky harbored lazily floating puffy maroon clouds.

I walked upon a gleaming crystal walkway; the path led to a tall gleaming crystal pyramid.

The creatures walked on jointed appendages; they had hooked mandibles that made clacking noises.

My ears were assaulted by a cacophony of clicks; I could not understand what they meant.

I was dragged to a transparent cube that stood on a pedestal; I smelled an unfamiliar sweet odor.

I reclined on the crystal floor and fell asleep; I dreamed of home and apple pie.
