Chapter 14: We Fix Everything At The Last Minute

That's when he got an idea. He was going to try and summon the Tooth Fairy and have him bring us back to the Pole. After a few unsuccessful attempts to make Scott lose a tooth, Lucy came out saying that she did. We then used that to wait for the Fairy, and Scott brought him out into the hall by the wing. It took a bit of convincing that Scott was Santa, despite no longer looking like it, but the Tooth Fairy agreed and brought us to the Pole dropping us off at Scott's office.

"So why aren't we going through the workshop?" I asked.

"Because 'Santa' and his soldiers will be expecting it." Scott answers. "Sound military strategy involves taking the enemy by surprise. It's a good strategy."

However, when he opened the door, the soldiers were waiting for us. We tried to shut the door and keep them out, but they found their way in and led us to the main workshop area, there the Toy tied us up with a large ribbon bow. Scott tried to convince him to let us go, but the Toy refused and left with his soldiers. We then tried to break free of the ribbon tie, but that wasn't happening either.

"I should've done something sooner." I said, "I knew something like this was going to happen, and I didnt do anything about it when things started to go downhill."

"It's not all your fault, Alice." Scott says, "I didn't check the List twice, my son thinks I betrayed him, and I hurt the woman I love. I ruined Christmas."

Not long after, Charlie came in on some sort of zipline and untied us, followed by the Tooth Fairy and a blonde woman. She must be the one he fell for.

"Hi, I'm Alice," I say, giving a quick intro.

"Carol." She responds.

I then go over and release the other elves and with a little encouragement from Scott, we hurried to stop the Toy. However, he had already taken off in the sleigh. Bernard then whistled for Chet, who came bounding down and tackled Scott as the rest of us moved away. Scott then got on the young reindeer and took off while I gave a quick explanation to Carol about him.

We then made our way back through the workshop and found the soldiers waiting in the middle of the village. After pelting them with snowballs, which only bounced off of them, we charged at them and started to take them down. I saw some of the boys take them apart with their tools, one got silly stringed, Bernard and one of the football elves tripped one with ribbon on their snow speeders, and three were hobbling away from Carol. Meanwhile, the one I was dealing with kept trying and failing to catch me.

"Over here." I called after moving to the side. It tried again only for me to duck behind it.

"Looking for me?" I ask, tapping it on the shoulder. I went on with this for another moment before finally slamming into it, sending it to the ground. I did this with a few more until the sleigh crashed through the others and sent the Toy flying onto the workshop steps.

Some of the other elves got the suit back and gave it to Scott before sending the Toy through the Panagraph, which was set to make him smaller. As Scott was getting ready to leave, we reminded him of one major problem: he still needed to get married. Carol, who was standing there, was confused, but Scott explained everything to her with a little help from Abby. Carol agreed to marry him, and she did, just in time.
