Chapter 2

I froze on the spot as I stared at the girl in the mirror. Or what used to be a girl. The sudden transformation shocked and surprised me. Sharp crooked fangs and bloody red eyes. It looked like a creature straight from some kind of movie.

"Is that your true form or something?" I whispered. Mirror chuckled and looked at me.

"You think this is me?" she said,"No, dear, this is you! I'm much worse." She winked at me and I blinked.

"What?" I said processing what she told me. She grinned, showing off her fangs. I could see she was enjoying every bit of this.

"Are you deaf? I said this," Mirror said waving her arms around her body for emphasis,"is you."

"Me? I would never be something so....." I began.

"Violent, scary, creepy, dark, monstrous, viscous-" she said rambling off. I held up my hand and put my other one to my temple. I could feel a headache forming from just trying to process this new information.

"Okay, okay, I get it. You're making me feel awful." I sighed.

"Those are compliments sweetie." she said. I stared at her weirdly.

"You're so strange." I said. She smiled.

"Thank you." she said. I narrowed my eyes at her and she slowly began to change back into my actual reflection,"You're hiding something very horrifying in you, you know?" Then she dropped her voice and said something I couldn't hear.

"I know..." I whispered and averted my eyes, I bit the inside of my cheek, then looked back up,"Back to the topic."

"Ah, yes, my wonderful, enjoyable, amusing game!" she said.

"Well aren't you good with synonyms?" I joked, rolling my eyes. She ignored my comment and continued talking about her game.

"Are you willing to play?" she asked. I saw her eyes sparkle and something didn't feel right, but I shrugged it off.

"Sure, why not?" I said with a shrug. She clapped her hands.

"Yay! This is going to be absolutely interesting now that you've come." she cheered,"You're going to have a blast! You'll just die for it!" The way she said the last remark sent chills running down my spine.

I blacked out after that and woke up on my bed, the mirror already miraculously in my room. My head pounded and I felt a burning sensation all over my body. When I went to check my closet wall, the hole was gone and it didn't seem hollow anymore. So that's how it all began leading to today.

Going back to the present, I had just entered the mirror into the Land of the Dead.

Everything changes when you enter the mirror. It becomes more dangerous and life threatening. I have no idea why I chose to participate in this game because I know one day I might get myself killed, but once you say yes, there's no backing out. The game comes back to haunt you and eventually, it will kill you anyways. It's like a parasite that feeds on you if you quit playing.

The object of the game is to kill the Queen of Hearts who is a super strong boss and once you do, you win the game and you are allowed one wish from Mirror. A lot of people of course, is trying to kill the queen, but millions have failed.

She carries a sharp sword and slices every challenger's head that gets in her way. She has no emotion, is what people say. Her jet black hair tied in a bun on her head, her blood red gown flowing with every step she takes, her piercing black eyes penetrating through every soul. She lives in a dark castle where her servants are guarding and awaiting her orders. The Castle of Murders

That's what I heard through gossips anyway... She's not on my 'people to go visit' list, so I don't worry. However, I get an itching sensation every time I hear someone mention her. My blood boils and my body burns. A deep sensation of violence and blood lust is thriving through me.

I tried to ignore them, but they keep getting stronger and stronger. I know that I am a monster and there's no way avoiding it. Why try to hide the monster within when you can just accept it?

I shook my head and patted my cheeks, bringing me back to 'reality'. I began walking through the dirt path of the woods. I had no idea where I was going, but that was my style. I would just drift around until I found a place I could settle in. I just like traveling, you could say.

Now at the beginning of the game, once you start playing, you go through what you always do in virtual games. You have to pick a character and stuff. Well, your character is already ready since it's you, but you have to choose your weapon of choice. More like it chooses you. My weapon was a death scythe... a scythe. That's pretty cool! Eh hem, anyways, you don't have to carry around your weapon everywhere, it only comes out when you call it. Whatever that means.

I heard a low rumble as I was walking down the dirt path and I looked around. Finally, in the distance, I saw a Jeep driving down the path. I heard laughter and loud talking coming from the car and it stops just a few feet from me. There were two guys present. One looked at me and smiled mischievously. He turned to his partner and said something. The other one smiled and they both get out and walked towards me.

"Hello there," Number One said. I frowned, not liking where this was going. I began backing away when I felt hands grab my shoulders firmly. I looked up and I saw Number Two smiling down at me.

"Where do you think you're going?" he asked.

"What's your name?" Number One asked. I looked at him angrily.

"Why do I have to tell you anything?" I spat. He smiled and he held out his hand, there was a flash and a gun appeared.

"You're gonna talk." he said. Great.

"My name is Alice..." I murmured. He touched a lock of my hair. I cringed in disgust.

"Alice, huh?" he said. I fought the urge of wanting to bite his hand off. I was frustrated with how I got myself into this and various thoughts of how to escape jumbled up in my head.

"What do you want?" I asked. They laughed.

"We're on what you call... a murder spree." Number Two said. My eyes widened. This is just fantastic.

"I didn't come here to die just yet." I said. I kicked Number Two where it hurts, if you know what I mean, and pushed Number One to the ground and made a run for it. A gun fired and a bullet skinned my cheek. I paused, shaking a little. I touched my cheek. Red blood was oozing out. My hand shook as I stared at the red liquid and I fell to my knees. Not this again..

"That bitch!" Number Two yelled in pain.

"It's fine, idiot! She fainted just from a little scare." Number One laughed. They heard a soft laugh coming from the girl which caused them to look at her in confusion. She seemed different. A dark aura swarmed around her. She stood up, wobbling this way and that as if she was drunk. Her dark hair covering her eyes.

"Finally! My turn to play." she said quietly. She looked up at the two guys. Her blue eyes had turned a burning crimson red. A sharp smile on her face.

I stretched out, smiling at the two idiotic guys. It's been ages since I've been set free from my chains.

"I thought you were passed out, Alice." Number One said trying to scare me. He stood up pointing his gun at me. I smiled at him.

"Sorry, but Alice isn't here right now. Would you like to leave a message?" I asked. They looked at me in disarray. Look at those pathetic faces.

"Don't you play tricks on us, trying to scare us away." Number Two said. I shrugged.

"Do I look like I want to play tricks on you?" I asked. I looked around observing my new surroundings. Murders are allowed in this world, I hear. This is my kind of place. I turned my gaze back on the guys and slowly began walking closer to them.

"Hey! Don't move or I'll shoot." Number One said. Number Two summoned multiple daggers. Aw, how cute.

"Ooh, I'm so scared." I said waving my hands at them, still walking. He shot near my foot, but missed. I paused and looked at the place he shot then looked back at him,"You miss a lot, you know? You might wanna get that fixed before you die."

"I'm serious!" he yelled. I rolled my eyes.

"Let's see..." I said. I hold my hand out,"Is it like this?" There was a flash and a beautiful black death scythe began to materialize in my hand. My eyes glittered with tiny stars and I twirled it around in my hand. I pointed the blade at them, loving the way it shimmered in the bright sunlight.

"W-What the....?" Number Two said. I laughed.

"Isn't it simply beautiful?" I said. I looked down, my hair covering my eyes,"But what would be more beautiful is seeing your blood splattered on it."

I woke up to find myself lying on the ground, staring at the vast blue sky. I sat up rubbing my head and groaned. I had a huge headache. I looked around. My mouth dropped and my eyes widened. Blood was splattered everywhere. The guys that I saw alive just a few minutes ago were cut to pieces. I looked beside me and saw my scythe stained with their blood.

"It happened again, didn't it?" I said putting my hands to my head trying to soothe the headache. I killed them.
