-Never say my name again with that rotten mouth! shouted my father rushing towards us.              

-Beta Tim, stop!         

Alpha's order made him stop, but we saw that he wanted to kill us at that moment I looked at my mom trying to console her, but I was shocked at what I saw: it was as if a new woman was born, or maybe she was their all along but she was dormant. -Tim, are you sure about it! she asked with an icy tone in her voice.

I saw with amazement how all the werewolves in the room bowed their heads in submission. I looked at the alpha and saw that, even he had a hard time resisting my mother's exuding aura.

" What the heck is happening?" asked Leya. "Girl, I think your mother has more aces up her sleeve than we think! Who is she?"

"My mother!" I answered looking at her in bewilderment.

I looked at my mother with horror in my eyes:

Then, she addressed to Alpha Cedric:

-Alpha Cedric, I'm Selene, Anne's wolf! We will never dispute your right to lead this pack, no matter what you decide for us today; I will only do this if you put us in danger. From the moment my human gave up her husband's name, all my links with my true family have resumed. So, consider that I gave you a fair warning. Don't tempt us! Any of you!

After she said that, she handed over control to my mother.

-Anne, please! Take me back! It's not to late for us! said my father between sobs.                  

-As you said yourself, Beta Tim...I'm nothing but a whore, a weirdo, who doesn't deserve you! Or are you crying because you lost the possibility to reconcile with my family? - Alpha Cedric! Did you ask us if we considered ourselves guilty or not?                                

-I don't consider myself guilty, and neither is my child! It is what it is now, and what will be in the future I have no way of knowing. And all of this is happening because I disregarded the unwritten laws of witches!

I looked at the alpha and the Council members and saw remorse on their faces. The people who a few minutes ago were shouting that we deserved death, now I could see that they wanted not to be there!         

-Cowards! I mumble.                

-Alpha, what is the verdict? I heard my mother say.                          

"Damn! I never imagined your mother could be so brave!" Leya said. "I like her! I have a feeling we'll make a good pair!"                                 

I saw the Council members and Alpha talking through the pack links.                                     

-We came to a verdict! I heard Alpha Cedric say.                                        

-Alexis Nomi! Anne King! We cannot drive you from the pack territory,  upon your request!              But you will live on the edge of our territory. We will give you a house, which has a minimum of equipment, but for the rest you will have to work. We will allow you to take a maximum of two suitcases, each, from your old home in which to put what you need. You will only receive food for one week! You will help Omega in their daily duties. I can't give you the rank of omega, but no other rank either, because of your status.                                        

I looked at them....they could not look into our eyes. Guilt was visible on their faces, but they could not or did not want to admit that they were wrong. We got up from our seats and headed for the exit.                                    

-Anne! I heard my father whisper, while the pain was visible on his face.                                  

-Yes, Beta! How can I help you?                             

-Anne, we are mate!                         

-We were, Beta! Not anymore!                

-Anne, Alexis, please forgive me!                                      

-I don't know what you're talking about Beta! Please let us pass so we can go home.               

-Are you going to our home? he asked hoping that everything could be wiped out.                                     

-To our new home, Beta! Please excuse us! We have to get there before dark and prepare everything for me and my baby!                             

-Will you be able to forgive me someday? he said looking in our eyes.                                                  

He found nothing there but pain, indifference, and resolution. Resolution that we will manage to live without him.
