- Whitish, even if my parents forced me to spend more time with you, don't imagine that something has changed between us! I told her as soon as we left the house and reached a distance large enough for the mothers not to hear.

"He remained the same jerk as usual!" 

"Hey, kiddo! Let me solve this problem once and for all!" Leya told me.

"Really, please! I don't feel like arguing with him today; or any other day! Not with him, and not with others. So, please Leya!"

- No problem ..... Maxwell! I didn't even think otherwise! I answered smiling sheepishly, emphasizing his name as much as I could.

-How you called me, you ... 

- What is it, Maxwell? Cat got your tongue?

-You...you...I said feeling like I was suffocating. How dare you? Would you happen to know who am I?

- Yes....the same jerk who has offended Alexis for as long as she knows!

Only then,  did I realize that the one who answered me was not Alexis but her vampire. Although I admired the connection between them and, the fact that they could change so quickly between them, without anyone noticing, I could not let them see this. And neither do others!

- I'm Max Wang, the future alpha of this pack and the one you have to listen to! Got it, freak?

When I heard what he named me, I felt tears welling up in my eyes. 

"That's how my father called me too!" I said, sighing. 

I looked into his eyes for a long time and, for a second, I thought I saw regret in his eyes. At that moment, Leya took complete control over me.

I suddenly found myself thrown hard on the ground, and although I tried to get her off me, I didn't succeed. 

-Listen to me carefully, mutt! If you ever dare to hurt Alexis again, I don't care who you are or possibly will be. I beat her father, even if he was a  Beta so, don't think I won't do the same to you. Alpha son or not! Do I make myself clear, mutt? I said putting as much malice as I could into my words.

I saw her red eyes and realized that, when someone hurts or tries to hurt Alexis, her vampire will take complete control and will defend her. And this made me happy!

-You mutt, did I make myself clear? And don't make me repeat myself, 'cause I don't like to repeat myself, mutt! she said, putting even more pressure on my neck. 

I felt that, even though my wolf was trying to resist, we wouldn't last long....she was much too strong for us. So I did the only smart thing and nodded that I understood.

-Perfect! All you have to do from now on is be the jerk you've always been, but don't make her cry! Never!

After clearing up this little issue with the future Alpha ass, I returned control to Alexis.

When Leya retreated in my mind, I realized that I was on top of Max, and my hands were on his neck. I stood up as fast as I could and said as fast as I could before I ran away:

- I'm not a freak!

After she ran away, I stayed on the ground for a few seconds, looking in awe at my mate. And, I think, I would have remained in the same stance if I hadn't heard a wolf howling. My wolf Demon, became alert after hearing the the howl. I sniffed the air and realized that the scent I smelled was the scent of a rogue.

-Damn it! screamed Demon in my mind. He's after her! 

I got up as fast as I could and linked my father telling him that a rogue is after Alexis and that I will go after him. Immediately after that, I closed the link knowing that he would tell me not to engage in a fight. 

I heard the howl and realized that it was not someone from our pack. 

-Finally, I found you! someone grumbled behind me. 

-Who are you? And what do you want from me? I asked turning around to face him.

-Today, you will finally die! You should have died last time...when I tried to throw the bus.... he said with a grin on his face.

-No...no...it's not possible! Why do you want to kill me? I did not do anything to you! I said scared.

-And you didn't even have to do anything to me! For how much money I received...you deserve to die! said while shifting and launching towards me.

I screamed and dropped to the ground waiting for my death. I heard growls and snaps and opened my eyes. In front of me, there was a black wolf with a white moon on its forehead, standing between me and the rogue. The way he moves, constantly positioning himself so that the rogue cannot touch me, gave me the impression that he was defending me. I didn't understand, who could it be.... it was not my father's wolf and from the looks of it, it seemed to be a young wolf that shifted recently.

For a second, he turned his face towards me and motioned for me to run towards the pack's house. At that moment the rogue attacked him and bite his front paw. I heard him whimpering, but he quickly recovered and attacked the rogue. Scary snaps and snarls could be heard from both wolves.

"Leya, where are you? Help me!" I cried desperately.

"What is it, kiddo?"

"Don't you see? The rogue threatened me!"

"And this little wolf guard defends you!" she said bored.

"Leya! His losing the fight.! He is still young! It's no match for the rogue!" I huffed.

"OK! OK!" said Leya and, for the second time that day she took complete control over me.

-Get out of my face, wolfie! she boomed.

I saw how the black wolf relaxed when he heard her voice as if he knew that I was safe now. 

"How does he know that..."

-Look what we have here! Leya said looking at the rogue. A little rascal! I hope it's worth dying for!

-What are you? asked the frightened rogue. You are not a wolf?

-A wolf? Leya scoffed. Do you intend to offend me, rogue?

-What are you? asked the rogue looking for a route to escape.

-You don't understand what I am? Do you not realize? Red eyes, fangs, white hair, amazing speed, braggy .... Leya said as she spun around him with amazing speed.

- You are... You are.....

-Stop babbling! It annoys me already! Leya said as she picked him up from the ground as if he was a feather.

-You can not be... This is a wolf territory! You can not be!

-Well, if you thought of vampires, you are right! And I'll be the last face you'll see! I hope it was worth it! Leya said as she snapped his spine like it was a twig.

At that moment, our warriors and Alpha arrived. I fell to the ground, crying uncontrollably. 

"Why would anyone want to kill me? I haven't done anything to anyone? Why am I a target?"

-Alexis, has anyone else been with you? Alpha asked me with concern in his voice.

- Yes, a wolf protected me!

-A wolf! Which wolf? asked one of the warriors.

I looked after the black wolf that protected me, but it was no longer there. It was as if no wolf had been apart from the rogue.

-Alexis, let's go to the pack house. For today, I decided to suspend classes. Not until we see that there is no more danger!

The moment I entered the pack's house, my mother rushed to me and hugged me.

-Alexis! Are you ok? she asked looking if I had some hidden wounds that I didn't talk about it.

-Yes mom! I'm fine! Leya defended me and killed the rogue. But, there was another wolf ... black, with a white mark on his forehead. It was a white moon. But,  he disappeared! I said with tears in my eyes.

-Have you seen that wolf before, dear? Luna asked.

- No, Luna! But....

- It's ok, dear! Go and rest! Your mother and I still have a bit of work to do, and in addition, we have decided that you will stay with us to have lunch.

-Max, was also on his way to school! We had a small dispute and .... that's why I ran into the woods! I said feeling ashamed.

I noticed that Alpha and Luna exchanged a quick look as if they were hiding something.

- He must arrive too! Some of the warriors went after him and other children. We cannot let the children of those who work in the pack house be in danger! But, until they arrive, go and rest in my room! Luna replied smiling.

My mother led me to Luna's room. 

-Alexis, from tomorrow, after we get home, we will start training. You will learn to control your powers and fight!

-Yes mom! I said still remembering the feeling of fear I felt.

-Sleep now, honey! she said and left.

As soon as I lay down on the bed, due to the events of the day, I fell asleep. I woke up when someone yelled:

-Wake up, Whitish! I think you've had enough sleep for today, lazy!

-I can't get rid of you even here! I grunt.

-Hurry up! They are waiting for us in the kitchen! It's already lunchtime! 

 -Not coming!

At that moment I felt water thrown on me. If looks could kill, Max would not only be dead but also buried.

-What the hell, you...

- Hurry up! You're boring me already!  After all, you are what you are, and  I have to be the nanny! he said grinning.

- I don't like doing lessons with you either, but this is my punishment! I said.

I had to do something to reduce her smell because it was already driving my wolf crazy. And how else, than throwing a glass of water over her?

"She's going to hate us!" Demon said. "Let's tell her. She has to know what she is for us!"

"And to think we are pedophiles? She's ten Demon!" I tried to reason with him. "And you know the low: we can't tell her. Not until she shifts!" I said.

The day passed without any other incidents, and my mother and I spent the night, at Luna's request, in one of the guest rooms. The pack had to be sure that none of her members would suffer, and that there were no other rogues on her territory. 

The next day, Max and I were informed that, from that day on, we would be accompanied on the way to and from school. The pack thought it was an attack on Alpha's son, but I knew better.

Someone was after me, and I didn't understand why!
