It drops 5 cm per second. That's the speed of the flower petals falling. I saw it in a movie. I wonder how fast my heart ran toward you — Ahn Minhyuk; Strong Woman Dong Bon Soon

Jimin

If there was such a thing, in reality, called a time machine that would be greatly appreciated, considering how much I've missed on the only girl that's somehow caught me like a moth to a flame. Jaehee is the flame. Hot, burning, and bright enough to stay alive until it melts or water is thrown and then it dies. I don't want that to happen. I don't want her to disappear.

There's this other guy. Dark brown hair, timid, quiet, an intellect who plays sports and is the team captain of soccer, and apparently is pretty damn strong. Choi Heejung, or what his friends call him to tease the boy, Junghee. He's a lot more confident and strong than me. The first time we made eye contact in class, I knew he deserves better instead of being with that jerk, Eric.

I'm sitting in a Hyundai car out of my mind until the sun setting catches my eye. It's so beautiful with its rays slowly fading away, the sky has been sprinkled with fairy dust—pink and orange. And I'm almost lost in my own mind, reminiscing moments between us, Jaehee and me as a smile plasters across my face, ease melting into me.

She's amazing, but why didn't she tell me the truth about her being the Mafia's daughter beforehand, although I saw everything. The scene plays again in my mind. Eric had hurt Heejung and his father made a deal with Jaehee's for an arranged marriage. I shake my head, anger fuming me as my hands curl into fists.

I won't let this arranged marriage happen.

From what I know, the Song and Kang family are enemies that want to create peace. It irritates me so much to which the palm of my hands bangs against the steering wheel which makes me accidentally honk.

My father turns around, giving me a warning glare, saying, "Five minutes." I swear I almost hear him mutter teenagers these days under his breath but I don't care. Glancing at my watch, a long sigh releases my mouth. I throw my head back against the car seat, groaning and let myself slide down. Then I run a hand through my hair, exhale, mouthing everything's going to be okay.

Let's calm down, shall we?  While sitting up, my eyes nearly shut, shoulders relax, everything is tranquil until my phone vibrates against my leg, tucked in the pocket.

I groan in frustration, fishing out my phone.

Goose: Uhh I don't know if you've already boarded. . . but I just wanted to say, make sure to take care of yourself

Duck(ling): . . . should I be scared or what?

Goose: JUST TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF DUCKLING

Duck(ling): How'd you get my number?

Goose: None of your business 🗿 🗿

Duck(ling): You little shit

Goose: WhAT tHE FrEAkING— you said I'm not allowed to curse, yet you believe you have the authority to do so Mr. Duckling

Duck(ling): Yes I do 😎

Duck(ling): Hey, Jaeun, you won't forget me right? Remember to text me or call often

Goose: Ofc I won't and if I do, someone will help me get back my memories or I'll do it myself 😉

Duck(ling): You're really interesting you know that? You don't sound okay

Goose: . . . you're leaving that's why idiot. oh btw get out of your car and look behind you

Duck(ling): And just why should I?

Goose: Just do it!!

So just as I'm told, I slide out of the car and start walking. I stop when five feet has been reached, whip my head over my shoulder, turning around. I see light, something sparkling so bright in this vast night. Like a flashlight as if they're stars. When it comes in my view, my jaw drops and all of the flashing yellow-like bodies swirl around me dancing like stars—fireflies. In the city, you can't really expect fireflies so my eyes widen at this feeling brushing past me, everywhere of me.

My eyes widen once again seeing a figure standing fifteen feet away from me, smiling when I look behind me. The figure dips their head, laughing, then looks back at me. I'm so confused, but stay exactly where I am, getting a text from Jaehee again, head dipped.

Goose: I have to tell you something

Duck(ling): What is it?

"Hey, duckling, I mean Jimin." My concentration breaks, finally realizing the figure in front of me, smiling, and laughs again, softly.

Jaehee—her caramel eyes are warm, sweet, long brown hair tied in a ponytail dancing lightly across her back as she takes steps towards me, hands behind her back.

"Did you forget?" She asks, pulling out a cake sitting on a plate from behind her back.

That's why her hands were behind.

"What do you mean?" I laugh, uncertain.

"Happy birthday, Jimin."

A/N: It's been like so many years since I've updated but I love you guys and will try to update more often. Quick note, Jimin's birthday in Alexa isn't the same date. It's October 9th, 2001. And yes it's a long chapter again because I need more words 😂 As you can see I'm trying to get back in the swing with updating and my summer schedule, but like summer's almost over anyway 😔 Drink plenty of water as always, keep yourselves cool in the summer's heat and eat all your meals, okay? Again, thank you for reading! 💖
