"Ugh", Magnus sighed. "I don't have anything to wear!" He said, his bedroom floor concealed with clothes of all colours. Now, Magnus Bane was definitely not one to every stress about the clothes he would wear, but somehow, he couldn't find anything that appealed to him.
   "Too bright" Magnus said, throwing a neon blue silk shirt. "Too basic" he said, discarding a plain white t shirt. "Too formal" he added, as he threw a crimson velvet suit on his floor. "God, Alec Lightwood." He sighed to himself. "What are you doing to me?".

"Alec? Oh come on, I'm sure it looks fine! Just come out of the bathroom!" Isabelle told her brother. Isabelle stood outside the bathroom door, waiting for Alec to emerge.
   "I look stupid!" Alec shouted from the other side of the door. "I always look stupid!".
"Alec! You're literally wearing the same thing that you always wear! Come on, you'll be fine!" Izzy shouted back.
   "Fine" Alec sighed, opening the door. He wore a pair of black skinny jeans, a black leather jacket and a plain white t-shirt. "It's not...I don't know, it's not 'jazzy' enough".
Isabelle laughed. "I didn't know 'jazzy' was your style. Luckily, I got you a little something". She reached in her pocket and pulled out a small black box. Inside was a silver cuff bracelet with a tiny diamond inside. Alec looked at it closer and noticed that the diamond had a little 'A' engraved inside it.
   "Izzy, I don't know what to say...how did you-".
"A little help from Dad" Izzy said, cutting Alec off. "Now shoo! You're gonna be late". Alec smiled at her while slipping on the bracelet.

"Magnus! Hey, sorry I'm late" Alec said to Magnus, who was standing outside his apartment. Magnus was dressed very boldly. He wore a crimson and gold silk shirt, velvet navy jeans and he had golden highlights at the tips of his hair.
"Wow, Magnus" Alec stuttered. "Y...you look incredible".
Magnus smiled at him, "oh I just threw this on".
"Yeah, um...me too". Alec could feel himself blushing. "Come on Alec, you got this! Oh who am I kidding? I'm a mess" he thought to himself.
"Ready to go?" Magnus asked.
Alec took one last deep breath, "yeah, let's go".

"Oh come on" Magnus laughed at Alec, "cheese pizza is so boring! Go big or go home Alec Lightwood".
Alec chuckled, "I'll trust you to order for me". Magnus smiled at him, "but no pineapple! Pineapple on pizza is just wrong".
Magnus nodded and walked up to the counter to order.
Alec continued to smile to himself, for the first time in his life, everything was going right for him.

At least, it was, until Alec looked over his shoulder and saw Jace and Clary across the street. He quickly spun back around, he could feel himself panicking and praying that Jace and Clary wouldn't see him. Magnus finally returned to their table with two barbecue chicken pizzas.
"No pineapple" Magnus said, as he placed the pizzas on the table. He looked at Alec and could tell immediately that something was wrong. "Are you okay?" He asked, his voice filled with concern. Alec looked at him while Clary and Jace walked into the pizzeria.
"Magnus" Alec started, "maybe this wasn't a good idea. I'm sorry...I just don't know" he stuttered on.
Magnus stared at him and then noticed that Clary and Jace had walked in.
"Hey Alec, it's okay, friends can go get pizza together".
"Magnus! Alec!" Clary shouted. "What a nice surprise".
Alec was burning inside. They don't know, they couldn't know. If anyone were to find out that he was gay, his life would be changed forever, and not in a good way.
  "Hello there, Clary, Jace" Magnus beamed at them.
Alec envied his confidence. He let everyone know who he really was, and he didn't care what anyone had to say. It was one of the things Alec greatly admired about Magnus.
   "Surely you've got better things to do than hang with this dork, Alec" Jace said jokingly.
   "Jace! Be nice" Clary said.
"It was a joke!" Jace defended himself.
Alec smiled and laughed along with them, his heart still racing and his mind still exploding.
  Magnus, seeing Alec's discomfort, decided to act fast. He would get Alec out of here, to a place where they could talk privately. "Alec I have to go...I have that thing".
   "Thing?" Alec said, confused. He didn't have a clue what Magnus was talking about, he never mentioned a 'thing'.
   "Yeah, the thing" Magnus said, shooting him a look. Clary and Jace looked at both of the boys, Jace with a suspicious look on his face, and Clary with her usual glowing, happy smile.
   "Don't let us keep you then" she giggled. "Jace, say goodbye" she nudged him.
   "See ya" Jace said, engrossed in his pizza.
Magnus quickly pushed Alec out of the restaurant.

"Magnus, what's all thi-" Alec said until he was cut off by Magnus.
   "Alec, we don't have to do this. I get that you aren't out yet, but just know that I really like you, Alec Lightwood. I understand if you don't feel the same way. I just want you to be happ-"
   Alec cut him off by leaning in and kissing Magnus. His lips were soft and he intertwined his fingers with Magnus'.
   Magnus kissed him back, holding his hand and running his free hand through Alec's hair.
   Alec finally broke the kiss, and stared into Magnus' eyes. "Well lucky for you, Magnus Bane, you make me happy".
