(Y/n) Pov

Varian and I are in Demanitus's chamber. Rapunzel, Varian and I agreed for 5 weeks of solitude as Varian works on the scroll and I work on my powers. "Ugh!" Varian had been groaning the 5th time now. "You need help?" "I mean unless you can decipher an ancient scroll which has incantations that has power over the black rocks then go ahead" It seems he didn't go so far not even the first verse was found. I guess it won't hurt looking.

"Crescent high above.." I believe that's what it says? Varian jumped up and went to it and stared at the words.

A few minutes had passed until he spoke "Fascinating. W-wha--wait when were you able to read this?!" "That's what it said?!" "Yeah the first part here you said it and I didn't even know!" How do I know this?

"Do you know what the rest says?" I stared at it, but I'm drawing a blank "No" "You can read some of the text, that's amazing. Maybe because your connection with the Moonstone is a true connection, what Cass has i-is basically mediocre compared to you" "So why can't I control it?" "Maybe it's because she's older and it's adapting to her body and age?" That, actually makes sense. "This incantation is only for the black rocks?" "Yes" If I were to say it, it may not work as I may want it to though. "Okay, I'm gonna work over there and leave you with the scroll" "Okay, love you" "I love you too"

Come on, one spark of moonlight that's all I need. Close my eyes...

3rd Pov

(Y/n) finished singing and opened her (e/c) eyes and looked at herself to see electricity wrapped around her body. Varian stopped when she started to sing and his jaw dropped when he saw the power. "Whoa, was that another incantation?" "Hm? Oh no just something I know" (Y/n) shrugged as she let it disappear, it was a simple lullaby that stuck with her "(Y/n) I think you just managed to control the moonlight's power!" (Y/n) looked stunned "Whoa really?" Varian nodded vigorously and looked back at the scroll "Now it's my turn to shine!"

Varian managed to finish with Demanitus scroll and (Y/n) had finally managed to get a control on her powers. So for now the two decided to just play around with enough free time. Ruddiger started making cocoa as Varian kept on his googles, (Y/n) had a spare pair of googles on her as well (Varian gave it to her for what's going on) "The results are in. Who will win first prize for best metal? Will it be steel for it's durability and thermal conductivity or iron for it's lustrous shine in high melting point?" (Y/n) cheered and Varian turned to his girlfriend and smiled, he turned back to the metals "Brrrr, pow!" Ruddiger handed hot cocoa to (Y/n) and she took off the goggles and started to drink and Varian stopped and looked to his pet. "Ah, yes! Thank you, Ruddiger. This is perfect" Varian took the beverage and started to laugh in a almost evil way as (Y/n) took a sip watching her boyfriend be such a dork. "Warm cocoa will really hit the spot. Thanks, bud" Varian started to drink.

"Hi, Varian" Varian spit out his drink all over Ruddiger who luckily had goggles as (Y/n) started to choke. "Whoa! Hi! Hi" Varian took off his goggles and looked to Rapunzel who was with Lance, Eugene, Max and Pascal. "H-hi guys" (Y/n) choked out a greeting and started to punch at her chest. (Y/n) finally stopped choking on her cocoa and looked to Varian who was explaining to Rapunzel. "We, uh, weren't, uh, excepting you so soon. I mean, we did agree that (Y/n) and I will need at least 5 weeks of solitude to decipher this thing so we uh thought we had some privacy" Varian and (Y/n) both got shy after being caught "Varian, don't be embarrassed. Wait (Y/n) are you wearing one of Varian's goggles?" Rapunzel smirked seeing (Y/n) turn red as she played with the goggles that were wrapped around her neck "Noo?"

Cassandra had come in during the conversation of the scroll "Cass!" Varian looked happy and reached out to Cassandra "Varian, don't get any closer. Hide the scroll! We can't let her get her hands on that incantation!" Varian butted in "The-the scroll is worthless without the translation key" "Well, it sounds like I need two things"

Varian hid behind a flipped table while stirring a chemical. "Hey, Varian" Cassandra called out holding onto the scroll as Varian stirred faster. She whistled and split the table in two "If you wanna read that scroll, you are gonna need my translation key" Varian pointed to the wall and splashed the chemical making it unclear "Ha! And now that I've destroyed it, you'll never know what the scroll says because the only translation in earthly existence is locked safely away up here" Varian pointed to his head and started to cheer for himself "Boom!" "Is that a fact?" He laughed "Oh, yeah. I should not have said that out loud" Cassandra walked closer until Varian hit his back against a wall "Then I guess you're coming with me"

Varian groaned "Ugh" He turned to Cassandra "Hey, where are we?" "I need that third incantation, Varian" "Never" "I knew you'd say that. That's why I went through your little bag of tricks" Cassandra picked out a certain vial which was empty "I found something in here that might change your mind, Recognize this?" "Ha! No. Ugh, yes, it's a truth serum of my own design and it compels the drinker to tell the truth and answer any question asked...Wait, but I never drank that" "Lucky for me, you sleep with your mouth open. So let me ask you what's the 3rd incantation?"

Varian groaned trying to fight it back "I, uh...Crescent high above... evolving as you go... raise what lies beneath... and let the darkness grow"

Back at Corona (Y/n) was on a full fledge rage as Rapunzel tried to calm her down. "Cass took Varian. SHE TOOK HIM AND YOUR TELLING ME TO CALM DOWN!? WELL GUESS WHAT PRINCESS I WON'T CALM DOWN UNTIL MY BOYFRIEND IS SAFE BECAUSE A MOONSTONE HALF USER HAS HIM! AND HE KNOWS THE 3RD INCANTATION SHE MIGHT USE SOMETHING TO MAKE HIM SAY IT!!" (Y/n) fell to her knees exhausted "Ugh, sorry about that" Rapunzel bent down to (Y/n) and smiled "It's okay, everyone needs a moment to vent. We're just glad you didn't set off any sparks"

(Y/n) smiled but it fell quickly, her own boyfriend was taken by Cassandra. (Y/n) had tried to fight her off to get Varian back but it didn't work instead she was beaten by Cass and thrown aside. "Crescent high above..." "What was that?" "I managed to read some of the scroll before you all came over" "How did you manage that?" (Y/n) shrugged clearly still upset.

"We need to find Varian" Eugene stood up and walked over to (Y/n) "In order to find him we have to calm down" (Y/n) flinched and glared at Eugene.

She doesn't normally get mad but seeing her like this scared everyone around. "Eugene, I'm not calming down until we get him back. Do you understand?" Eugene nodded scared for his own life "Y-yeah got it, but there's only one problem. We don't know where to look" Rapunzel spoke "I think we know where to look"

(Y/n) checked around for entrances as the others continued to talk on how to get inside Cassandra's stronghold. "Maybe just maybe..." (Y/n) closed her eyes and concentrated on the rocks trying to take some control only a small hole opened. "Haah hah g-guys I g-" The gang were flying in the air after being thrown it seems "Wha--why?" Rapunzel, Eugene and Lance were flying through as (Y/n) sighed "Catalina, Kiera? What happened here?" Kiera walked over to (Y/n) "They asked if they had ideas on how to get up there so we did this" "Wha--what in your mind thought this was a good idea?!" Kiera and Catalina looked at each other and laughed "It isn't" (Y/n) groaned "HEY ADULTS IN THIS GROUP PLEASE STOP"

The three stopped flying around and they looked back at the entrance. "Come on, Cassandra. Just let me in" The black rocks separated making a doorway. "Which way do we go?" "It's your birthday Eugene, so you get to decide which path to take. We're celebrating and adventuring it's a... celebrenture!" "All right, here we go. Onesie, twosie, redsie, bluesie this one. Blondie, you and (N/n) and I are gonna go this way" (Y/n) stopped "(N/n)?" "It's for fun" (Y/n) smiled at Eugene and got closer to them. "And the cool kids will take this tunnel. Come on girls, you too, Max" They headed left leaving (Y/n), Rapunzel and Eugene to go right.

As they walked Rapunzel and Eugene consoled with (Y/n) "Hey (Y/n) how are you holding up?" (Y/n) tensed "Perfect, walking up a tall tower to save my boyfriend, you know every Tuesday" Eugene laughed "We'll get him back, you will get Varian and Blondie and I will hold off Cassandra" (Y/n) nodded kicking at a shard of a black stone. The four stopped "Getting here was too easy. We could be walking into a trap" Pascal changed colors to match the walls "Good idea. Think you can get in without being seen? Be careful, buddy" Rapunzel kissed Pascal and let him go.

Pascal hasn't returned concerning the three "This is taking too long. I'm going up there" "Rapunzel, wait! What if you can't convince her to come back? What if the only way is to.." "This is Cassandra. Not some monster. She'll come around. I have to believe that" "And if you believe it, then so do I" "Agreed"

The three of them walked into the chambers and Rapunzel called out for Pascal "Pascal? Come out, buddy?" (Y/n) followed with Eugene and saw him. "Blondie. We found Varian" Rapunzel walked over to them and saw Varian from afar as (Y/n) shouted "VARIAN!?" Varian snapped his head up to his lovers voice "(Y/N)!" "Don't worry, Varian. We're gonna get you out of there" "Not now. I found the last incantation It was hidden with a photoreactive ink. Obvious, right?" Varian snorted and (Y/n) smiled "Yep, that's my dork" "Yeah, super obvious" "The problem is I need a concentrated beam of sunlight to see it. I tried using my goggles, but they're too scratched up" He picked up his goggles and cleaned them. "I need something else, like a, uh, prism or a glass" Rapunzel went through her bag "Or...a crystal?" She showed a ring to Eugene and the two talked, soon Eugene handed the ring to (Y/n) "Think you can do it? If not I'll go" (Y/n) grabbed the ring "No, this is my dork so it's my problem now" Eugene smiled and clapped at (Y/n)'s back "Good luck"

(Y/n) started to walk on the black rocks but fell and crawled to Varian "Hurry, the sun is setting!" (Y/n) passed the ring to Varian "Whoa, (Y/n) I didn't know you were such a romantic" "Shush up it's Rapunzel's. Now use it" (Y/n) blushed and handed it to Varian. "It's working!" (Y/n) smiled "Good" The scroll caught on flame and Varian tried to blow it out "No! No, no, no, no!" He took a pen and paper out and wrote the words down as (Y/n) tried to blow it out. The scroll burned up in Varian's fingers and he let it go "Uh... I got it!" Varian and (Y/n) chuckled in relief "That's good Var, now how do we get you out of that prison and...back inside?" It was closed now.

"So, what now?" "I don't know, we can- uh we can talk?" "Heh, sure. What happened while I was being abducted?" (Y/n) turned red "I almost broke some stuff and yelled at Rapunzel, luckily she said it was okay because people need to vent every now and then" Varian stared at (Y/n) and smiled "You know if I weren't trapped behind bars and looking down causing certain doom I'd probably kiss you right now" (Y/n) scoffed "I-- I'm sorry probably?" Varian grinned and grabbed onto (Y/n)'s hand and kissed her hand. "Just messing with you, I'd totally kiss you"

The prison started to rumble and (Y/n) and Varian were being pulled back in. "(Y/n)" Varian was scared and (Y/n) squeezed Varian's hand "We'll get you out of there Var"

"Welcome back you two" Rapunzel was pinned to the wall surrounded by black rocks and Eugene was being held by black rocks. "Before I destroy you all, (Y/n) I'm gonna need what's rightfully mine" (Y/n) shrunk away from Cassandra but Cassandra grabbed her by the wrist and started to absorb the Moonstone's energy from her very being. (Y/n) shrieked and Varian's ears rung and his vision started turning red. (Y/n) screams sounded inhuman as Cassandra took the Moonstone's magic from (Y/n)'s very core. (Y/n) started coughing out some blood.

"RAPUNZEL I HAVE THE FINAL INCANTATION YOU HAVE TO USE IT!"

Cassandra let (Y/n) fall to the ground and (Y/n) didn't move an inch "RAPUNZEL PLEASE!"

"Power of the sun, gift me with your light, shine into the dark, restore our fading sight, rise into the dawn, blazing star so bright" "Impossible!" "Burn away the strife, let my hope ignite, let hope ignite. Let him go, Cassandra" "I don't follow your orders anymore!" "I said let him go! Let him go!" The Moonstone was chipped and Varian called out "Ahh! Eugene!" "Varian!" Varian was blasted away and Eugene held onto (Y/n).

"Eugene! Pascal!" "Rapunzel!" Eugene ran to Rapunzel and hugged her and let go quickly and hugged her again. "Oh! Oh! I know this is an emotional moment for you but I just gotta say, that was awesome!" Rapunzel chuckled and looked to (Y/n) "Will she be okay?" "Sunshine let's get out of here first. Varian will want to see her"

Varian watched over his lover, (Y/n)'s breathing was short. "(Y/n)... come on please wake up" With Moonstone drained from her very core, she was almost dead in a sense. "Varian." Varian looked at (Y/n) as she called his name and opened her (e/c) eyes but it was devoid of emotion the sparkle that normally donned her eyes were gone now. "(Y-Y/n)?" She turned to him her mouth slowly agape as she watched him. Varian started to cry and called for their friends "Eugene! Princess! Help please!" Rapunzel and Eugene opened the doors and saw (Y/n) sitting up. "(Y/n)! How are you feeling? I'm sorry Cassandra had hurt you like th-- Varian, her eyes" "I-I know" "It's as if she's empty now" Eugene commented as (Y/n) looked to Eugene and watched everyone chatter without saying a word.

"Has she said anything?" Varian sniffed and answered Rapunzel "She said my name but that's it" Everyone looked sadly at (Y/n) as she stared at everyone and looked back down to her hands.

"Why..." (Y/n)'s voice raspy as she spoke low "Why..do I feel empty?" Varian almost began to sob again but he collected himself "Cassandra took your half of the Moonstone's magic" (Y/n) reached her hands out and tried to make a piece of moonlight but nothing happened. Not even a spark...

"She stripped me...of my half?" Varian nodded biting his bottom lip "Y-y-yeah she did" Rapunzel cried "I'm sorry (Y/n)" (Y/n) looked to everyone and smiled "No, it's good I won't have to mess up anymore! A-and I won't be pressured a-a-anymore... A-and I-- I won't have to-" (Y/n) sobbed "Oh god..." Everyone stood silent as (Y/n) sobbed and she fell into a coughing fit blood staining her fingers. Varian held onto her hands and patted at her back as she coughed. "Guys please give us a minute" They left and Rapunzel put her hand on Varian's shoulder, reassuring him as she then left.

"Do you need a hug?" (Y/n) nodded and Varian embraced her as she sobbed louder closing her (e/c) eyes.

Rapunzel moved away from the door after hearing (Y/n)'s sobs and looked to her friends sternly "If may be true that Cassandra isn't going to come back to us, but either way we put an end to this"

Varian started to placed a soft kiss on (Y/n)'s lips and she closed her eyes melting into the kiss. "Varian, it hurts so much" "I know, it's okay. We'll protect you"
