I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS FROM THAT SERIES BECAUSE THEY ALL BELONG TO JOANNE KATHLEEN (J.K.) ROWLING!

-Chapter Twenty-Five-

There was a sudden pounding on the front door. Lily jumped up in surprise. Since her father had left the lamp light on for her, she could see that she was still in her father’s living room. She could hear the commotion upstairs of her father and brother waking up. She quickly dived to the other side of the couch to the suitcase. She quickly took her wand that was set on top of it and pointed at the door.

Lily carefully walked to the door. She heard her father and brother upstairs.

“Lily Luna be careful!” her father ordered her, his wand already pointed in front of him, at the door.

Albus was behind his father, his want out as well. Lily carefully went to the window and pulled up one of the blinds. She carefully looked through it. In the dark, her house light had already turned on by its motion sensor.

After a couple of seconds, she gasped and had to look again. She didn’t believe her eyesight for the first time, but she recognized that red hair and eyes from anywhere, even if the woman was looking around frantically. She was holding a woman who was limp in her arms.

“Mom?!” Lily yelled before frantically opening the door a couple of steps away.

Mr. Potter immediately perked up before his daughter opened the door. Albus put on the light as Lily stood at the door.

“Mom?!” Lily asked shocked.

“Lily?” her mother said equally shocked.

“Ginny?!” Mr. Potter asked.

“Lily, sweetheart, quickly take Mrs. Malfoy to the couch.” Mrs. Potter said.

Lily quickly whispered a spell and the blonde, sleeping woman was lifted into the air. Lily levitated her over to the couch and set the woman down before she was finally able to recognize her. It was Scorpius’s mother.

Mr. Potter ran down the staircase before he then took Mrs. Potter in his arms and kissed her. Albus walked down the stairs and Lily immediately got the fireplace ready to talk to her grandfather.

Mr. Potter hugged her tightly before cradling her head to his chest after kissing her forehead.

“Are you alright!” Mr. Potter asked her.

“I’m fine! I’m fine. We were attacked when we were trying to escape. We were almost out of the property when a dog came and they shot a spell at Astoria. All three of us ran until we could apparate off the property. We were almost caught.” Mrs. Potter told her husband.

Lily was now calling her grandfather. When he his face finally came to the fireplace, Lily quickly told him the situation.

“I’ll be there soon. I’ll call Percy and the rest of the ministry! Meanwhile, call Draco Malfoy and Scorpius!” he told her.

Lily nodded and turned her head to watch her mother look around before her eyes went to Albus.

“You’re here too!” Mrs. Potter said before wrapping an arm around her son as well as hugging her husband.

Lily felt a tear come to her eye before she then dampened the fire. Once that was done, she quickly went to the kitchen. She went to the desk that was at the side. She put it in as a place to study away from the television and the distractions of their room. She opened the one door and took out some paper, some ink, and a gray quill. She quickly wrote:

Mr. Malfoy:

Please come as quickly as you can! Your wife is here and she is unconscious. My mother says that they were attacked when they were escaping. I have already contacted the Ministry and they will be here soon. Please come to my parents’ house.

Lily Potter

Lily then folded the paper before writing down Mr. Malfoy’s name on the letter before she took the paper to her family’s owl. The great horned owl was in a cage and squaked angrily at Lily when she woke it up.

“Take this to Draco Malfoy. Knock at the window until he looks at it.” Lily told the owl strictly.

She then placed the letter in the owl’s mouth before opening the cage door. Only when Lily opened the kitchen window that was above the sink did the owl fly gracefully out of the cage and through the window. Lily sighed and she then felt arms form tightly around her. Surprised because she didn’t even hear footsteps come in, she was frozen for a little bit before she remembered that the arms around her belonged to her mother.

“Oh sweetheart.” She heard her mother say before her mother’s lips pressed on her temple.

Lily moved and saw her mother standing there. She looked dirty and pale, but Lily didn’t care as she wrapped her arms around her mother. Mrs. Potter hugged her daughter and Lily said, “I already contacted grandpa and Mr. Malfoy. They should be here soon.”

She looked to see her father already getting a glass of water while Albus was contacting Teddy by the fireplace.

“Ginny, sit.” Mr. Potter told his wife as she let go of Lily.

Mrs. Potter shook her head.

“No. Not until I see James.” She said.

Mr. Potter looked at her sharply, “you don’t know where he is?”

Her eyes widened.

He’s not here!” Ginny gasped, “No…no, no, no, no, Harry they still have him!”

Mr. Potter set the full glass on the table before standing in front of his wife and placing his hands on her shoulders.

“They may not, Ginny he may be coming here still.” Mr. Potter told her, trying to be optimistic.

“No, Harry they wanted James more than they wanted Astoria. Harry he would’ve been here by now, you know how fast he is!” Ginny said before bursting into a sob and wrapping her arms around her husband.

Mr. Potter rubbed his wife’s back and closed his eyes as Ginny sobbed, “I left him. I left him.”
