Chapter 5
P. S I changed it so that Naruto is 4 years old. Sorry.
3rd POV
The day has come for Itachi to leave, and it pained both Naruto's and his heart to watch him go. Kurama was getting all of his weapons from the drawer, and right before he left Naruto handed him the mask he had almost forgotten about. With a slightly shaky voice, Naruto said, "Ita-Ita, what's this mask for?". Itachi looked at his mask again, before turning it around to reveal a seal.
"It's my ANBU in training mask. I'm the second person to join. It's a place where people who have to ability to become potential ANBU go when they lack a skill they need to do so." He replied anxiously, he didn't want Naruto to go there anything soon. It's way too much work for children, and it includes making you go through missions you shouldn't have gone through. The only reason he's there is because of his father.
"O-Ok then. Bye Ita-Ita, I'll see you later, right?" Naruto sniffed slightly, sad to see the person he's grown attached to leave. However, he's happy that he might see him around the village.
"Of course, Naruto-kun. We'll write to each other, and possibly see each other around the village." Itachi spoke happily, causing Naruto's frown to turn upside down.
"Right, now go. That idiot Danzo's planning something, I can smell his arrogance from here, and boy is it stinky." Kurama stated, his voice getting slightly more demonic the moment he started talking about Danzo. Itachi only nodded, and kindly waved to Naruto before sprinting into a nearby tree, disappearing without a sound. Naruto's mood instantly became sadder, and Kurama sensed that.
"Hey kit, why don't I teach you the basics of seals?" He asked, hoping to make Naruto a bit happier. And it worked. His eyes had that same glimmer and spark in them whenever he learns something new. He quickly nodded his head, and made their way back to the den.
Itachi's POV
I made my way into the trees swiftly, barely causing any noise. I dashed off away from them, towards my target's hideout. My mind kept on wandering over to Naruto, I can't believe I had to leave him so soon. I would've liked to get to know each other more, maybe even introduce him to Sasuke. They're only a year or two apart, maybe he'd like to have a friend instead of being with Shisui all the time. I stopped on a tree, already masking my chakra. I found it.
It was quite trashy, and vines were growing everywhere. It was the very definition of abandoned, the perfect place for a hideout. I walked in, kunai in hand, and slowly made my way deeper inside. My Sharingan was activated, dashing from one side to another, making sure there weren't any traps and locating anything dangerous. I found a small thin tread slightly above the floor.
'What kind of idiot came up with this?' I asked myself, stealthily stepping over the thread and made my way further. Inside, I heard the laughs of some men, and instantaneously I stiffened, and stalked my way to peer at the corner like some creepy weirdo- which I was not, it's for a mission, Itachi! I saw 3 obviously drunk men, laughing while playing a game of- what kind of game is that? Throwing kunais around like it couldn't take your life. Absolutely idiots.
"Hey, hey," one of the men said, holding up a kunai.
"Wanna see if we can throw a kunai to the other side of the room?" I instinctively looked at the other side of the room. I saw objects they most likely stole, and some weapons. There were cages, and blood in it which horrified me. Spending almost a month in a place where there is peace and nature with no bloodshed does things to you. I became softhearted to animals. A small raven poked it's head out a way too small cage, littered with cuts and dry blood. After some agreements, they all went to the other side. They were all glancing at the raven, and it struck me. They weren't talking about the wall, they were talking about the raven!
I was about to make my move; if they're going to aim for the bird, I'm slaughtering them. They're already wanted criminals who are wanted dead, so it wouldn't hurt if I roughed them up and took them to the T&I department, right? And as if they asked for a death wish, one man threw the kunai, his aim was so terrible it actually veered to the right and was about to hit its wing.
SLASH
I blocked the kunai and sprinted towards them with my own, Sharingan swirling.
"What the bloody he-?!" I slammed my kunai into his arm, earning a scream of pain from him. Alcohol bottles fell over, shattering.
"Who the hell you think ya are? Messin 'roun- ARGH" I kicked him in the guts, before slamming my first into his face.
"I don't like it when people curse, bad for kids." I mumbled, before kicking the same dude who got stabbed in the ribs. I didn't miss the other guy near the raven, he was holding up a katana while shaking his legs off. I roundhouse kicked the guy beside me, and stabbed him in the leg, rendering him unable to run far if he had the guts to.
Then, in a flash, I was at the other side of the room next to the guy staring at me with wide eyes, his katana sliced in half.
"Y-You're-"
"Yes, I know I'm hot, I get that a lot." I spoke sarcastically, giving me terrible flashbacks of fan girls. Those terrible beasts, willing to do anything to get my shirt or even a jacket. Snapping myself out of that nightmare, I kicked his guts as well, then elbowed him before punching his face until his cheek became the color of a grape. I then knocked him out, before dragging him to the other guys, who are also knocked out.
"Wow, I didn't even get the chance to use a jutsu. Their bosses must have been mad to hire them. (Referring to the A rank ninjas that ambushed him.)" I sighed before tying them up. I looked at the raven, and smiled. It didn't deserve a life in a cage. I went over to open the cage, and I watched as he limped out. It stared at me, then bowed. Why did it bow? I was confused for a moment. Then, I heard it speak.
"Itachi-san, thank you for saving me. My name in Kuro, and I'm forever in your debt. I would have died if I were here any longer. Here, please take this as a thank you, you may summon me whenever you need me, I'll do my best." And with that it proofed away. I looked at the cage again, is there a reason it didn't go back in there? Then, I realized, I didn't tell it my name, how did it know who I was? I frowned, life's confusing, Itachi- stop talking to yourself!
I sighed once again, mand began my long journey to drag them back to Konoha.
-3 hours later-
I'm done, I'm so done, as soon as I pass these gates guarded by stupid ninjas who fell asleep, I'm taking a nice long bath. These men weigh at least 160 pounds each. Without doing the math, I know that's a lot more than what I should have been able to drag here. I painted as I heaved them past the gates, before making my second journey to the T&I and then my third one to report to that old man Danzo, and finally back home. Why must life be so difficult. Why.....just why.
-15 minutes later-
"Thanks Itachi, take a rest as soon as you can, I'm suprises you didn't pass out there, but I'm glad you didn't try to shunshin them here by yourself. You wouldn't most likely had to take a break from missions." I only nodded in acknowledgement, too tired to even look at the man in front of me. As I was about to leave, he spoke again. "Also, why didn't you use shadow clones?" He asked.
"I did, trust me, but they dispelled under their weight, and they dragged them even slower than normal." I replied. He only nodded and went back inside. Now, on to the second mission then I can take a break! I wonder if Naruto's back.
-5 minutes later-
"ANBU In Training, Weasel, have you completed your mission?" That crippled old man said, as I unwillingly bowed.
"Yes, Boss. Target was found in a base near the edge of the Forest of Death, underground. I have taken them to the T&I department before reporting to you, sir. They were simply too heavy for me to continue to drag here, and used some of my chakra trying to find a way to carry them at ease, finding none. I burned most of the evidence while I was there, and left no signs of intruding. I did as you asked, sir." I spoke in a monotone voice. I frowned as I saw him smile at the corner of my eye.
"Good job, Weasel, I would like you to increase your chakra reserves, however. Passing out in the middle of a fight isn't an option for you, and you know that. I'm giving you a day off, but first consider doing this mission after your break." He spoke handing me a piece of paper. It read:
Mission rank: B
From: Konoha
Goal: Eliminate the demon.
Crime: Living
Full name: Naruto (unknown)
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Other: Three scars on each cheek.
Rank: None
Ryo: 10,000
I looked at the paper furiously. Who would want to kill Naruto, and how did nobody see past a genjutsu? I'm happy Kurama explained to me what his genjutsu form looked, I would've declined anyways. Murdering one of your own is wrong, especially when they did nothing wrong. His crime is living? Absolutely nonsense! Danzo looked down at me smirking.
"Do you accept?" He asked.
"I'm sorry, boss, but I decline." He frowned at me.
"Very well then, Weasel. You're dismissed." He said. I was finally able to get up! I nodded, and made my way out the door and to the compound. I was tackled to the ground by none other than Sasuke.
"Itachi-nii-san!"
