ALASKA

EXTRA INFORMATION:
- setting; this book is set in wild alaska. therefore, this means that the characters haven't been properly educated, and have been raised differently.

- deathmatch; this is when two werewolves, one being an alpha, and the other being any rank, challenge each other and fight to the death to gain control / become alpha of the participating alpha's pack.

- shifting females; shifting females are rare and often sought out by male alphas for mates. all females who cannot fully shift, still have the werewolf gene and can 'half-shift,' meaning that their eyes change colour, and they can grow claws. the explanation as to why some shift and some can't is down to sex-linkage in genetics.

- mates; werewolves choose who their mates are. there is no moon goddess.

- marking; marking happens to some extent, and this is just where the male uses his canines to create two scars on his mate's neck.
